“Robin L The Red Sea at its Best”

My wife and I returned to the Oberoi for ten days at the end of October/beginning of November. The suites are very comfortable and spacious with private courtyards with sun-beds and seating for al fresco evening dining. The food is excellent - wonderful multi-choice breakfasts - served by a charming, attentive staff always eager to please. You get spoilt on the beach too, and to top of it all the Oberoi has its own house reef at the end of a short jetty. Late October is the beginning of winter on this stretch of this Red Sea but we had ten cloudless days with temperatures in the upper seventies and lower eighties. If there is a downside to Hurghada at this time of year it is the freshening winds which can blow uncomfortably if you are unlucky.

Room Tip: The higher priced rooms are nearer the beach and some are facing the sea

We stayed at the Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh for 9 nights in October, it was our 4th stay and each time we enjoy it more. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday.
The hotel staff are superb and nothing is to much trouble. The staff are always polite and happy.
The hotel, pool and suites score a perfect 10 out of 10 for cleanliness and the food is absolutely beautiful.
The swimming pool is great and the gym is just right.
We can't wait to return again in March
Thank you to all the staff at the Oberoi for making our stay so enjoyable.

Went with 5 friends to Egypt in May '14. Bought a day-pass for the Oberoi, and had use of the pools, spa, and all the facilities. Then a meal in the evening with a fleet of black Mercedes to take each couple back to our apartment.
WOW! Pure luxury. Fabulous facilities, fantastic staff, food to die for......please treat yourself, worth every minute and every penny! 10/10

Having read through many pages of reviews on TripAdvisor I decided that my wife and I would be heading for The Oberoi, Sahl Hasheesh from the UK for a well deserved two week break. I did a great deal of study about the hotel beforehand as my wife has limited mobility and this meant for us that it was essential to obtain a superior deluxe suite right at the forefront of the beach.

The Oberoi is not looked upon as a disable friendly hotel but they did everything they could to accomodate us despite this. On arriving at the hotel completely exhausted just before midnight and after a friendly welcome, we were soon whisked by buggy to our suite number 211.

It's actually the closest possible to the beach and Red Sea. From the front door it's five yards to the sand and a mere fifty more to the sea! The suite is kept in tip top shape on a daily basis by a team of people, some of those we had the privilege of meeting during our stay such as Mr Alaa Aly who was always so helpful, respectful, kind and courteous, who worked meticulously in our room to keep it clean along with his bubbly colleague Mr Mohamed Shoban, who serviced the minibar along with other duties also on a daily basis. Other skills which they used were towel creations which were amazing and left on or by our bed regularly which made us smile on our return from the beach.

We made use of the hotel's nightly turndown service and it was Mr Mohamed Farghly that blessed us with his charm and sense of fun and who also left us with some unique towel creations of his own each evening that delighted us.
.
We made full use of the in-suite dining and enjoyed delicious breakfasts and evening meals, some of which were on a par with the best we've ever tasted. Mr Rahman was also very patient and kind in helping to manage my wife's challenging diet on a regular basis. I do want to thank the chefs' for their wonderful work in establishing such a varied menu where there would be something different each day for everyone's palate.

They were mainly brought to us by Mr Mahmoud Soleiman who always had a bright smile for us and tickled us with his attempt to teach us some Arabic in exchange for extending his English! His bespectacled friend, Mahmoud also graced us with his presence a few times making us laugh with his dry humour and wit.

Buggys' were on hand (Golf Kart type) should you want help to move around the hotel and you merely needed to ring reception or ask one of the workforce if you were outside and one would arrive along with their driver. The grounds are expansive so one is advisable unless mobility isn't a problem for you.

Our visits to the beach were regular and we are indebted to those who gave us help at a moments notice whenever it was needed. Waleed, Abbas and Mr Abdallah Hassan worked tirelessly to enrich our wonderful stay at the Oberoi. They were always on hand but had the knack of knowing if you needed time to yourselves and therefore preferred to be left alone.

The views from the suite overlooking the Red Sea were simply stunning and the temperatures in early November were 28 to 33 Celcius during the day and 20 to 23 Celcius at night with copious amounts of brilliant sunshine and very little cloud cover. On the odd occasion when the wind picked up and it wasn't sensible to sunbathe on the beach, we did this in the privacy of the suite's courtyard which has it's own sunbeds. It's open but is walled and has much more shelter from the wind if needed.

All in all we had the most fabulous time at the Oberoi. If total relaxation is at the forefront of your mind this is the place to be.

The hotel was not full we believe because of fears of disruption in the region much more further north towards Syria. We never at anytime felt anything other than being completely safe in the hotel itself, Sahl Hasheesh and Hurghada. The Egyptians are extremely protective of the tourist resort areas of Hurghada and Sharm-El-Sheikh, so please don't be afraid to visit these places.

It was a great honour for us to meet the General Manager, Mr Reuben Kataria who must work exhaustively continually trying to facilitate the guests needs along with his wonderful management team that assist him in this endeavour.

Finally, it was time for us to leave and I'm not ashamed to say that tears were shed. Friendships were made and I must also make mention of Ms Tetyana Bubleynyk, the guest relations manager who I first made contact with by email regarding the hotel in the first instance. It was perhaps very appropriate in view of this fact that she took the trouble to venture out and wave us off as we departed which was a lovely touch. It's also another excellent reflection of the professionalism of the staff that we received from start to finish at the Oberoi. When we spoke so highly of the staff and their work to one of the management team, he simply said that 'it was their job', but in my book, going the extra mile as they do is not part of anyone's normal job remit.

Very well done and special thanks to all the wonderful people we met at the Oberoi for providing us with a glorious slice of heaven and an experience we will never forget. They touch your heart very easily as does the place. Inshallah - God willing, we hope to return very soon.

First of all we had a great welcome from the airport to the hotel as we reserved a car that included a nice helpful driver, mineral water and wet towels to freshen up after the trip.then we were also very well welcomed by the reception guys and they were more than helpful, showed us around and gave us a tour around the hotel facility and informed us about the spa, gym, pool and beach activities. We reserved the grand suit with private pool and it was ready for us although we arrived earlier than the check in time,With the pool temperature adjusted and heated and everything is all set. Food was great and the chef made sure himself that we are satisfied. Room service was amazing too (in time and setup)also the housekeeping were so nice and helpful and made us very nice atmosphere with flowers, candles, cake and music.at night we enjoyed an astrology demonstration at the main terrace that was really amazing with a great nice astrologer. So to sum it all we had the best vacation ever.

Best regards
Mohamed khattab

We went for a family vacation at Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh. We found the hotel superb in every aspect and every detail. We were received & greeted by the manager in person Mr Reuben. The rooms were very spacious, clean, with a nice sea view. The food was fabulous. The service was very personal, friendly. We tok a boat for a snorkelling trip in the red sea. Although it was in Mid-November, water temperature was in the 20s, and we had excellent time. Overall I would rate this hotel as one of the best in Egypt.

Booked a weekend break and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It is the ideal hotel for a relaxing holiday. From the pick up at the airport, stay at the hotel until drop off at the airport, it was an absolute five star treatment.
The suites are modern, large and very comfortable. The swimming pool is fantastic and the beach area superb. The breakfast was wonderful and the in suite dining excellent. Compliments to the General Manager for maintaining such good standards.
Everyone at The Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh is so friendly and courteous. Special thanks to Mohamed Hussein, Tatiana and Mostafa Fouad for their professionalisms and helpfulness.
A great stay and we would definitely return. Stayed November 14-16, 2014. Travelled with wife.
