Holidays @ Mercure Hurghada

We spent 10 days at the Hotel Mercure Hurghada. A very nice hotel, rooms very clean, food was like in a luxury restaurant. Particularly be emphasized is the staff. From the front desk, room service or the restaurant staff. Each individual was always friendly. We felt very comfortable and almost familiar. Many people were constantly trying to keep everything clean. Whether it concerned the gardens, the pool or the beach. Everything is always in perfect condition.
Through the day accompanied us an animation team. The team provided continuously for adults and also kids to put a smile on their faces. Not intrusive but always friendly and they looked forward to various activities.

Marley and Dali, two of the animators of the team, such friendly guys, I would like to say thank u so much guys. You made our holiday perfectly. Every day they asked us for our well-being, offered us different activities that accompanied us through the day and always with a smile on their faces.

The hotel is gorgeous and the holiday was perfect through Marley and Dali - thank you very much!

In June 2013 I visited the Mercure. It was a wonderful holiday! The first time I was in Egypt and I loved it! A great warm sea and sand, fish and reefs ... beautiful. Very good staff . The chefs prepare delicious, well done)) I want to say special thanks to the animators of this hotel ! Every evening they showed the show. It was great! They are always entertained guests with them was a lot of fun. I would like to meet them again and again. I want to say that Ziggy, Marley, Chico and all the other animators simply super!! Let them continue to bring joy to people !
Mercure Hotel - you're just super! I'll be still! Very much miss! With Love ;)

Well, what an amazing 2 weeks we had the Mercure Hotel, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home. The group of 4 that got dropped off at the hotel were greeted with fruit juice cokcktails whilst we signed in, which i must say was effortless!! Our bags were taken to our rooms whilst we got shown the amenities by a lovely gentleman called Elia. Our room was very nice with a partial sea view, a plasma tv and an over head shower. Our room was spotelessly cleaned everyday with beautiful flower arrangements, it was a surprsie every morning when we returned to our room. It was Vegas night when we arrived, so we went straight down to enjoy the atmosphere and soak up the next 2 weeks.
The hotel has an amazing surrounding that you can enjoy whilst wondering around. The beach is perfect with its very own coral reef, my partner and I snorkelled for the first and were truly amazed by the colourful dsiplay of fish free at your door step. The pool was our favourite place to be as the animation team, marley, cloe, chico, paulo, darley and pauline to name a few constantly entertain you wether you want to join in or just watch is up to you and they are not pushy in anyway. Howeve after the first week Jamie became famous by being a contestant in Mr Mercure so from then on we just had to join in all the fun. The animation team put on a great entertainment show every evening and daily entertainment from aquagym, to donkey races (Jamie came last) or just a social chat, there is something for everyone to enjoy. We became firends with all of them and enjoy many memeories together.
I must also mention that the management Elia, Hala and Alah Din were always checking everything was ok and that we were happy. We would sit and have regular conversations about our holiday so far, or even down to personal life which was very interesting and a pleasure to be able to mix with such busy people.
This was our best holiday yet and we will certainly be returning, not just for the hotel but to see all of the great friends we met whilst we were there.
Thank you to all at Mercure for making our stay such an unforgetable experience.

We were from May 23rd until June 6th. It was the most beautiful vacation which we ever had. No wishes remain open in the hotel. The staff is always very kind and helpful. The room was always decorated particularly beautifully. Nothing had to be found with fault also to cleanness. The hotel plant is very beautiful. Everything very modern and yet in the Arabian style. There are different restaurants, this one everyone is established very nicely. Eats one can round-the-clock. The meal is always different and very delicious. For every taste. There was another specialty in the main restaurant every evening. The hotel offers many conversation possibilities. The beach can be also very much recommended. These are the hosts best. You are like a family and do your best any time that everybody is content. It is simply missing in this hotel to nothing and one simply feels only very comfortable there. We have found there many new friends and we will definitely come back. It was simply wonderful! We miss people from there very much. Lots of greets Monique and Marcel. the honeymooners

We had a great relaxing holiday but there were certainly some highlights and low lights which you should be aware of:

1. Great beach but you will need to wake up early to secure beachbed near the shore or bar
2. The all inclusive bars are easy to access but beware the juices are not fresh and are too sweet and fake-tasting. Having said that, the pina coladas were still great.
3. The rooms are really lovely and clean and have all the amenities. I would recommend a room with a sea view. We managed to have a great room with a partial sea view without upgrading just by asking nicely.
4. The food was really hit and miss. There is a lot of choice so you will always find something you like but in some cases the fish dishes were undercooked. I would always recommend having the main speciality of the evening as this was always a tasty choice.
5. The entertainment was not great. While there were lots of sporting activities organised which is great if you get bored of tanning, there was very little to do at night. The night entertainment was very amateur but probably ok if you have kids.
6. The staff were friendly, but a bit too friendly at times especially when you just want to chill out on the beach and not be harassed by those selling massages, horse rides etc.

Overall we had a great trip and felt very relaxed by the end but there were certainly parts which did not indicate that this was a 4 star hotel.

Room Tip: try ask for a room with a seaview at no extra cost. it worked for us.

- I agree with you that although the number of sunbeds is sufficient for our guests, there is still a higher demand on the front line
- Fresh juices as well as a wide selection of supplementary luxurious food and beverage offers and plentiful of advantages are available as part of the ultra all inclusive formula for the guests who whish to upgrade their package and add extra comfort to their holidays

My first impression of the Mercure was WOW and that feeling of awe never left me for the two weeks I was there. It was my sixth time to Egypt but the first visit to Hurghada and I can say honestly that this is the best Egyptian hotel I have been to. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel like a VIP. Nothing was too much trouble and every request was met with a smile and a simple “No problem”.

I was given the quick tour of things I needed to know by a pretty girl called Jasmine. By the time we arrived at my room the luggage guy was waiting with my bags, and what a room. Spacious, well appointed and comfortable with a 32” plasma, illuminated wardrobe and even a bath-robe hanging by the shower. The view from the balcony was directly on to the beach and I was awakened each day by the rising sun and a fantastic view of the red sea. Well tended lawns, palms and flowering shrubs surrounded the apartment blocks and there was an almost overwhelming sense of calm and quiet about the whole complex.

The huge pool area was the same, quiet and relaxing. Even the music was quietly subdued and not at all intrusive or annoying. In fact the only sounds were those from the occasional games of water polo or aqua-aerobics organised by the animation team and the splashing and laughter from children.

Considering that the animation team worked tirelessly to involve people in activities, they were never pushy or insistent. It was all about making your holiday ‘yours’. Even the shows in the evening were only about an hour long and with a two-week program you never saw the same show twice. The private beach area was the same. With no other hotels in the immediate vicinity it was refreshingly secluded and free from peddlers. In fact the only distractions were the horses and camels that allowed guests a taste of adventure and the guys from the hotels private dock promoting their snorkelling and glass-bottomed boat trips.

What really impressed though was the food. With (at one time) 17 different nationalities to cater for the food was varied and well presented, Speciality chefs prepared quail, duck, turkey, chicken, poached salmon, fillet of beef and a host of other dishes all presented with expertise and artistic flare. Every dish I sampled was tasty and there was always something different to try. The desserts were the same offering a fantastic variety to choose from. Mainly though, what makes the hotel stand out from the rest is the people that work there - friendly, helpful and courteous at all times. Senior management were continuously mingling with the guests and ensuring that everything was trouble free.

The Mercure group is huge with hundreds of hotels in a multitude of countries and this has obviously helped them to understand fully the needs of their guests as they provide a first class service with a very personal touch. Excellent..!

Room Tip: All the rooms seemed excellent. Apart from the views they are all pretty much the same.

we stayed here for a week all inclusive and were treated like VIPS from our arrival until our departure.When arriving the manager took us for a tour of the hotel while our bags were delivered to the room,I mentioned I was hungry and he went straight to the resturant and asked a chef to get us some food even tho he had gone way past serving time.We were impressed too, the food here is the best all inclusive food standard we have experienced anywhere on our travels.

Something that really does stand out at this hotel is the staff, they are so friendly and go out of there way to help you- from the bar man to the waiting staff to the cleaners they were all just Fantastic, never once did we feel pressured to tip anyone,something that I have felt pressured to do in other hotels in Egypt.

The grounds here deserve a mention they are stunning, apart from the main road enterance by the security gates this could do with tidying up as soon as you pass those gates however everything is stunning- not sure the land belongs to the hotel.

The reef here for snorkling is beautiful we got some really good snaps the sea is crystal clear and the beach is so relaxing- the occasional person selling various trips and things but mild compared to places I have stayed at.The massage guy was brilliant and made our stay, such a friendly guy even introduced us to his little girl when we went for an evening at the new Marina and he happened to be having a meal with his wife and daughter.Like I said the staff here are just so lovely! This is just one of many examples. By the way the Cleopatra massage is worth doing we did this on our first day and our skin is still so soft!

Entertainment team work hard that is clear and all seemed lovely -we are definatly coming back here when we have children- the kids here looked like they were having great fun! The shows were entertaining and kept us ammused- the theme nights are a great Idea!
The adult Disco/nightclub in the evenings was hilarious the bar man Dj and sheesh pipe man together are hilarious wish we had gone every evening! Only fault with the club is having to buy drinks after 12! Not good especially when drunk and then picking up your tab the next day... oops!

Apart from a few minor things I give this hotel 4 1/2 stars! Thankyou for an amazing stay Mercure-we were well looked after! Missing it already
