Good middle of the Road Hotel, if you know which one you have booked into. We had booked into the AquBlue, But were told that the hotel had been renamed Seaworld, but the reception was closed! So we were redirected to Beach Garden
Four of us staid at this hotel for 9 nights in January 2014, we were on a diving holiday and so went for somewhere cheap but reasonable and that’s what we got.
Twin bedded good size room but basic not luxury, telly, fridge, shower room and balcony with access to the gardens. For somewhere to sleep and shower no complaints, when we arrived there were no towels and the lights in the bathroom didn’t work but a call to reception and things were fixed in 10 minutes. Well done housekeeping.
There are three hotels that share the same complex, Seaworld (was Aqua Blue), Aqua Vista and Beach Gardens. You can eat at any of the restaurants in the three locations. If you give the Chinese a miss then you won’t have missed anything, the rest were okay. My suggestion would be to get there early because if you leave it late then the choice is dramatically reduced. Although they claim to be open until 21.30 they started to clear the food away at 20.30. The choice is good with fresh meat and fish barbequed every night .
There never seemed enough staff on, either to clear away or reset tables in the main restaurant. In the smaller outlets it was good and attentive. Around the pool it was no existent, you had to go to the bar and get it yourself, not a problem.
Yes it was going on even in January, the Animation Team worked hard at getting people up and at it, great fun to watch. The kids loved it.
As I said there are three hotels sharing the same location, very big, great for kids with slides and water attractions. You could also find more secluded pools which were geared to adults and being children free so something for everybody
20minutes by taxi from Hurghada centre. It is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by dust and desert. There is a beach over the road but not one I would want to spend to much time on. If you wanted to go for a walk then forget it.
Mainly Russian, very few Brits
If you want somewhere to chill for a week in the sunshine then ok, if you have children then great, if you want to see something of the local culture then forget it. For us it worked, it was cheap, reasonable accommodation, we left at 07:40 in the morning to go diving and got back at 17.00 for a beer or two.
