“Beautiful and clean hotel. AI food is good. Beware local taxis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

This hotel is a very good all inclusive hotel.

Pros:
- Beautiful and well maintained rooms and area.
- Several restaurants
- All inclusive food is of good quality and the buffet menu has something new every day
- No need to reserve sun chairs. There are plenty of them
- Rooms are clean

Cons:
- Fast internet costs money. There is a free internet but it is very slow.
- Quite limited water activities. No ski jets, banana boats etc.
- The noise from disco can be bothersome in the evenings.

Tip: The Blue Marine side is very quiet, you can really relax in the pools. Also the
water slides there are not so crowded.
Tip: Join the hotel orientation walk in first days of your vacation. It will help to find out all services.

And the most important tip: DO NOT USE THE LOCAL TAXIS. They will cheat you and steal
your money. They switch your money into piasters. One of the staff in the hotel saw that
I had piasters. He asked if I had been using taxis. When I said yes, he said the taxis are a mafia.
The taxi drivers are really aggressive and dishonest.

USE ONLY THE HOTEL TAXI SERVICE! Reserve also return trip back to hotel.

Room Tip: Ask room from the relaxation pools. The activity pool rooms are a bit noisy.

Just back from a week at the Iberotel Aquamarine Resort in Hurghada. I must admit I was more than a little apprehensive after reading the mixed reviews that were posted after we had booked.
It is a very large resort, with I believe in the region of 1,000 rooms. We had a superior double room on the second floor overlooking the main pool & pool bar area but were not bothered by noise at all. We spent our days in the garden area around the Relaxing Pool which was nice & peaceful, there were touts walking around the pool area trying to book people up for the spa, photos, diving etc but we were only approached once throughout the whole week. If you want to use the spa facility I would recommend visiting the spa early on in your stay & negotiate a price for a package, we paid 200 euros for 5 hours of treatments which were used throughout the week. Don't be put off by the guys on the front desk & I would recommend booking your treatments with Ira. As you would expect mealtimes at such a large resort are very busy & there didn't appear to be anyone 'front of house' to assist you in finding a table, this is one improvement that I think they could make. The food was plentiful and well cooked with lots of choice. We ate in the Italian on one evening and that was excellent. The beach bar was nice for lunch but don't go until after 2pm as it is very busy beforehand. The two main hotel bars were great with live music on most evenings & good cocktails. The staff we encountered were all polite & very hardworking but If you like a lot of personal attention when on holiday then this is perhaps not the resort for you due to the sheer size of the place. We have previously stayed at another Iberotel resort in Marsa Alam which was much smaller & therefore able to offer a more personal service but overall we had a lovely week with great weather and would go back again.

The hotel is suitable for the whole family. My kids didn't want to leave:)
The water slides, the animation team, the shows, the food, the service, and everything was more than perfect. It is very obvious that they have a strong training and quality assurance departments!

This extensive hotel looks very well done. Fab gardens and staff everywhere who are very helpful. I expect, however, that the tour operators have negotiated their prices down so low that the standard of food reflects just that. Very basic, edible school dinners. The nicest part was the breakfast at the Blue Marine because the chef made us poached eggs.

Great entertainment for young children and lots of swimming pools & slides although our 13 yr old was not particularly entertained. One was so warm it was too hot to get in to! Germ city! (The one by the pool bar - don't get in it!). We all had food poisoning after eating at the Lebanese. Really big yuck food-wise but 5 star staff.

Advice: Stay at home and save up for a proper holiday in Dubai or Florida at Easter. Have breakfast at the quieter Blue Marine. Ask the chef for poached eggs! That's how you gauge what star rating to give!!!

Room Tip: Near the sea. Still very noisy though if you go during peak times.

To date, it is the best holiday experience we had !
Amazing service and dedication to the smallest details.
Uncanny professionalism and friendliness made up for a great time spent for all of us adults and children alike.
The staff was always polite, keen to help with a constant smile on there faces.
The rooms were clean and very well maintained.
Pools strategically located to cater to all ages and tastes.
Busy sections with on going animation and more relaxed spots for those who wish.

Just spent 2 weeks at this excellent resort.
Hotel is 5* and definitely lives up to its rating! The rooms are lovely (we paid a little extra for the superior which is a little bigger than the standard) and had a lovely view over the quieter pools and the sea to the left.
The cleanliness was amazing as was the food - all restaurants served excellent food with loads of variety.
The second week it was getting fuller and was a little too busy for our tastes - however plenty of sunbeds even then. There were a lot of children but an adults only swimming pool and an adults only area to sit in the main buffet restaurant. If you wanted a quieter meal then the Four Corners buffet restaurant was ideal or one of the 4 very good speciality restaurants (as a Thomson customer we could use these as often as we liked!).
If you have children they are well catered for with a specific section in the main restaurant and plenty of activities like pools, slides and kiddy activities.
The sea is very shallow and lovely for kids but not a great deal of snorkelling if you like that, as we do.
Did the day trip to Luxor which although it was a long day was well worth it - excellent and very interesting.

Room Tip: We were in 4017 which overlooks the quieter pools with a view of the sea to your left - very good.

just back from the Iberotel yesterday after a lovely stay with my husband, my sister and 5 yr old daughter. The hotel is huge with plenty to keep one amused. Grt for kids with the many different water slides, lots going on at the main pools from belly dancing to water gym. my only quibble is that the water in the pools is very cold for kids, the main pool is heated but the kids prefer to be near the water slides. The food was really good quality and we are a family that travel a lot and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, something for everyone and always a pasta station and chip station that will please even the fussiest of kids! I loved the fact that at the buffet we could go help ourselvs to wine and beer this was great as sometimes it can take a while for it to arrive to the table in such a big place. the rooms were lovely and clean. we ate at the Asian and Italian restaurant and we loved both, superb service and the view just breathtaking looking into the lit of pool. They are fantastic with kids, and the kids club was great always paint facing or making masks going on. This is a hotel we will return to for sure and hopefully can make it a bit of a longer stay next time!
