“Great for kids and men yet to grow up!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We booked a last minute half term holiday. Check in was a bit of a nightmare as so many people arrived at once. We got a large room in 2000 block close to a pool and the playground so my grandson was ecstatic. Only downside was that we were woken up by kids playing football at 7am outside our patio doors. I don't get up that early for work!
There were people from all over Eastern and Western Europe and that made it more interesting for me. All the cleaners were men and I felt the room was only superficially clean but the sheets and towels were clean so I'm not going to make a big issue of that.
Service in the restaurants was a bit hit and miss but the staff work so hard so I'm not surprised that they look harassed for much of the time. The food was okay. I normally love kebabs and kofte etc. but by the end of the holiday I didn't care if I ever had them again. Some food was strange e.g. mashed potato at breakfast but we always found something to eat and never went hungry. We loved the Jazz coffee bar and the Colonies bar. The drinks and staff were great!
The animation team worked really hard and were good fun. Night time entertainment was scarce and a bit hit and miss. The main draw here is the hotel's aquapark. There's something for everyone and it really is great. One draw back is you have to walk a fair way for food when at the aquapark and it would have been better to serve snacks near the bar.
We had a great time in Hurghada, the weather was great. We did have an invasion of locusts on our last day which wasn't vary pleasant but I would recommend it for a great family holiday.

Just wanted something different bungalow was lovely well spacious for just the 2 of us could easily have fitted 5. Mainly rated as family friendly which it very much is so but even travelling as a couple was so relaxing our bungalow was right by Aqua park but no extra noise or disruption was caused. Arrived new years eve entertainment was brilliant venue was excellent... Food was good. Staff very friendly apart from on reception. Best chilled out holiday i have ever had . Would recommend to everyone couples families alike . I would advise if going on trips to use the proper reps for snorkelling. However the mini safari is also a good day out

we stayed for 7 nights as a part of 4 in february, ages varied from 21 - 70, and every single one of us loved our time there, the staff are helpful, the facilities are immaculate and the holiday rep couldnt have been any friendlier, definitely considering a return visit later this year!

We chose The Jungle Aqua Park because it was geared up for children and i must say it didnt disappoint we travelled with my partners 10yr old boy who is a bit of a fish when it comes to the swimming, so with so many pools to choose from he was in his element.
on the whole it was a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday, even if getting the visas at hurgarda airport did bring out a bit of the "victor meldrews" in my partner.
Transfers and check in went smoothly and we were in our bungalow with-in an hour and half of landing.
Just in time to go explore the numerous resturants for dinner, i have read mixed reviews on here about the food so i was expecting not too much, but in my opinion it was about a 7 out of 10 for a A/I resort catering for russian , german, swedish, french and english with children, that is good.Bars served wonderful lattes and good beer, the wine, i sampled rose and white were ok.
The staff were all very friendly and service was good.Rooms clean and nicely decorated.Just one bug bear were the people trying to sell spa treaments and trips 10times a day (they were friendly but a bit pushy).
We went on two trips snorkeling in the red sea has to be done, and an afternoon quad biking out in the desert both very enjoyable and well worth the money .
1001 nights show in hotel next door hmm parts are good but make sure its in English ours wasnt and for 15minutes we sat there wondering what was going on.
On the whole it was a very good holiday

We stayed here for 7 nights in February. We booked very last minute so didn't have much chance to read up on the hotel however we were more then happy with our choice!! The hotel complex is huge and although I'm sure there were a lot of people staying it seemed relatively quiet. We had a pool view room which was lovely, spotless clean and very suitable to the climate.
There were 4 of us staying me,hubby and 4 & 2 year old. There was plenty of things to do around the hotel but we spent virtually everyday in the aqua park.
The restaurants have an endless amounts of choice in them( Chinese/Indian, Italian, Mediterranean, Moroccan, German, and English/French) on top of these there are several snack bars including a pasta and fast food bars. Also an ice-cream parlour which is great for adults as well as kids (moven pick)
We had a lovely time and will definitely use this hotel again in the future !!

I have just spent 2weeks at jungle aqua park with my partner and had a great time... The staff were very nice and helpful/friendly, the guys in the jungle bar were fantastic and good for a laugh. I needed to change rooms when we arrived as we had been put on top floor of 2high rooms and I have a bad knee, I went and explained this to reception who told me to come back in the morning as we had arrived quite late and they would do what they could to change our room.. I went back in the morn and they moved us to a room which was close to reception and the restaurants which was great.. The rooms are clean and quite big with a separate room with beds in leading onto the patio area.. The complex is huge and takes ages to walk round.. The aqua park was amazing and was like going to another hotel it was that big.. If your going with kids they will love it, the pool for the aqua park is heated and the main pool in the hotel is heated unfortunately the rest of the pools are freezing... There are plenty of sunbeds and double beds by the pools and also four poster beds around some of the pools which are great. There are staff constantly cleaning the hotel and plenty of lifeguards around the pools... There are morning aqua aerobics and dances with the entertainment team who also do salsa and belly dancing classes in the afternoon.. There are kids activities and entertainment every night but not the best I've seen in a hotel.. Not really enough for the adults entertainment and you need to search for what's on in the evenings...there are electric scooters you can hire to ride round the hotel as it is so big, which are great for adults and children alike...the restaurants are Italian,English,German,Mediterranean chineses/Indian a tagine and a pasta shop..there is also an ice cream parlour great for the kids and a fast food place called MC which in my opinion does the best fresh pizzas.. The food as in most all inclusives becomes boring and very much the same stuff but all is reasonable, only problem I found was that it isn't very hot..you can also ask for take away tubs for any food which is not always allowed in all inclusives so that was v.good.. The hot chocolate is def the best I've tasted.. We went on several trips, snorkelling for the day with sky tours who are on the complex, the price is about £40 each and we thought it was def worth the money...we also had a desert experience day with Thompson for £39 each and that was def worth every penny...there is a show in the hotel next door in alf Leila wa Leila called 1001 nights which is £13 each it includes a tour of the museum they have a camel & horse ride and a show which was quite good. There is a small shopping mall just 5-10 minutes walk away which has cafes with free wifi and a supermarket which is quite cheap... We also went into hurghada for the night which was a great experience, it's very busy with loads of shops to barter in, the usual harassment from the locals to buy everything in their shops but def worth a vist. The marina was also nice and I dared try a camel steak whilst there and would def advise anyone to try it, it taste n looks very much like a piece of steak just slightly different...the weather was amazing but found it to be a bit windy.. There is also a go-kart track just along from the hotel which you can barter the price on...there is a bus that takes you to the beach every half hour free outside the hotel, and there are taxis at the hotel or if you want a bit cheaper there are taxis just outside the complex who charge around £3 sterling each way to take you into hurghada and they will wait a couple of hours there whilst you shop..all in all a great holiday I would love to go back with all my family and would def recommend this hotel... Very happy.. :-)

Room Tip: The rooms numbered around 1000- 3000 seem to be the closest to all amenities, we had room 1018 and t...

travelled with 2 kids 6 and 13. im going to try and give helpful facts that i found useful

flight was very good flew with easy jet no turbulence there or back, 4 and half hrs there and 5 and half hrs back

got to hurghada airport cost £11 each for visas from the banks {not the kiosks as they were more expencive} the banks are on the left as you walk in, you dont have to follow the crowds to the kiosks even though they will usher you to them just walk off we did and it was fine
was asked where we bought our visas and how much when stood outside waiting for all people on our shuttle bus, not sure why but nothing came of it.

20min transfer to get to jungle aqua park lots of speed bumps

when off the bus they tell you to leave your suitcases outside by the front door they then take them to your room within 10mins of you getting there

at reception they give you a form to fill in doesnt take 2 mins then a man will take you to your room, he shows you around the room and gives you a key card and leaves.up to you if you want to tip him

we stayed in room 2165 this was right at the front facing the kids pool and the kids entertainment so during the day it was fab but a bit loud at night til bout 10-11ish which if you are out enjoying the evening entertainment wont bother you but we were so tired by about 9 that we would ask for a room further away next time

room was huge, biggest weve ever stayed in when on holiday and even has a fridge which you dont normaly get if you go all inclusive so water was cold and even had coke and juice left by house keeping, room was cleaned every day there, curtains are just for show as my husband found out when he tried to draw them and they came down ;-], you dont need them due to black out curtains and voiles. bathroom was huge with fab walk in shower{i want one!}. always had lots of fresh towels from hand to large beech towels every day so no need to take any with you which we normaly have to and they take up valuable luggage weight
great to have a safe for free we have always had to pay for one before.
tv in room had a few english channels mainly news and films

kids pool was great only 50cm deep and heated we spent most of the day on a double sun bed also never had them on hols before they were great, yes you do get the reps from the spa and excertions trying to sell treatments and trips to you but a simple no thankyou is enough for most of them but some are a bit more persistant but they do like to talk and find out where you are from, they do seem to be friendly people, i had a pedicure and facial it was ok but he tried to sell it for 1120 le which is about £112 we got him down to £65 for 2 lots
we booked 2 trips with our rep which werent to bad a price one was the snokeling and the other was the jeep safari
snokeling - early trip and all day, started with a 30mins mini bus to harbour in hurghada town, then got on a nice boat and sat upstairs. we were the only english which wasnt to bad but did feel a little left out but tour guide and photographer were nice enough.
stopped at a few corals and then at paradise island got in a smaller boat to the island, while my husband and daughter sat on the beach my son and i went snorkeling, it was shallow and the fish still swam close to the shore. there were a few reps from other trips being abit boysterous with music and young girls but we were not there long. back on the big boat we went back to hurghada shore and stopped one more time it was colder by then so would need a cardi or jacket. also take a towel each.
jeep safari - best to wear proper shoes ie walking boots and take sunglasses. this was half a day from 12ish til bout 7;30ish. 5 mins from hotel you are at a waiting point by the mall for other jeeps with tourists to travel VERY bumpily to a spot in the dessert where you will see a mirage of water then on to a bedioum village [ sorry bout the spelling} where u will have food and water if you dont want to buy a scarf for £3 then best to take one with you as they want you to wear it due to the sun and sand dust, there you find out about how they live, info about egypt, see snakes and ride a camel for 2 mins which i thought was abit short i would of liked to ride them around abit more but still loved it, then quad biking, dune buggys, horse and donkey rides.we then went to a seated area where we had dinner and watched a belly dancer, colourful clothed man dance and a sword eater all was ok. after sunset and food we traveled back to where the telescopes were to look at stars, then a rather dark ride back.

tips are a BIG part of this holiday as the people that work do not earn much {we got a taxi from the hotel taxi desk {dont get one your self they charge what they want} to take us to the cleopatra bazar for 30 le £3, he took us there waited for an hour then took us back}

cleopatra bazar was the only place we bought gifts from and it was cheaper than the hotel shops

food was good lots to choose from with fresh cooked omlettes, fried, scrambled eggs. also pizza pitta bread, coissants all cooked in front of you. we liked the kofta meat very tasty. there bread is lovely {not the toasting bread} and the little pitta filled with meat and veg that are cooked on bbq's outside were too. you can go from restaurant to restaurant and pick what you want and eat it where you want. the ice cream parlar in the evening was lush with big cones or small cups more sorbe in the day but still nice. bottled water is available in every bar and restaurant.
we ate the salad and fruit didnt get tummy complaints, they do say that tourists get ill from handling the money not the food we took hand sterilizer with us and used it alot, but there is some outside or just inside the door of all the restaurants.

we did have an issue as to who our rep was at the start as the man who was in our transfer bus told us to meet him in reception the day after we arrived so we went and met him with the other family that got dropped off with us, we sat down and started to talk about excertions and then saw a man holding a card with our last name on it we ignored him as the man we were talking to told us that we might get others saying they are our rep, but then the other man with our last name came over to us and had an argument with the man we were talking to which was a little uncomfortable but then the manager came over and told us the man with our last name was the person we were ment to be with and go to with any problems so we went with him it was a little comfusing but was sorted in the end with not to much bother he also gave us the trips we wanted cheaper than the other man offered so all good.

always try and haggle for everything except were it says fixed prices {cleopatra bazar is fixed prices but cheap anyway}

hotel is on flight path but not a very busy airport and didnt bother us at all just tried to guess where plane was from. did have some jets that were louder i believe these were egyption air force but only had them for a couple of days and again no bother

water park was great didnt see my son the whole time we spent there he made friends with the life guards {friendly people}, he was always able to get floats and mats had no bother and was always able to get sun beds the whole time where ever we were.

whole place is very clean there is always someone cleaning something

we did hear some english speaking people but mainly russian, german and dutch nationalitys but we didnt find them that bad we stayed in a hotel in majorca 2 years ago that was mainly english and it felt more like butlins so better this way we think

we did have a very large swam of locusts that stayed for a couple of days but were no bother as stayed mainly flying around till they died so there was the odd locust on the floor or in the pool but the staff got rid very quickly

there was a broken see saw in the kids pool, it was only broken for a few hours and it was being fixed, it was like that every where, we asked for extra pillows they were in our room within 10 mins we asked for loo roll again in our room within 10 mins very efficient!!!!

wouldnt go any other time of the year as would be too hot 40s and 50s. we had fab weather every day 25-30 perfect all got tans

all in all a very good holiday already planning to go back with extended family

Room Tip: we were in room 2165 and i would of said that 10 rooms either side would be noisy at night time from...
