“Great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

I spend a week with my kids at the Jungle Aqua Park Hotel. It’s a very nice and clean hotel within a friendly environment. Staff are nice, friendly and do whatever they can to help.
The rooms are all individual bungalows or in blocks. Each block of bungalows have their own pool so there is no shortage of water playtime for all just great and superb for little kids, water a little bit cold but very refreshing when it’s hot. Rooms are a very good size, modern and with curtains to the second part of the room. Each has patio doors and two chairs and a little table. Bathroom is also very nice and relatively big.
The food was good at all of the restaurants - all themed. Plenty to choose from to eat and drink many bars and places to eat. No need to 'book' like in some other hotels, you always fine a table.
The waterpark is absolutely fantastic for kids and adults. The pool staff is good as they will find you sun loungers if you are a guest at the hotel as outside guests can use it also. The staff in the disco, restaurant or bar was also very nice and would look after you especially if you tipped them. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach at the sister hotel Dana Beach from the reception. Little bit a disappointment, not a sandy beach like we're used to, its more gritty and dirty. Sun loungers are available.
I can recommend the place for groups of families, kids, even for teenagers, as there is plenty to do.

Room Tip: The suites/bungalows in the Blocks are all nice and have a secluded cold pool to themselves

Although overall our party of 4 adults and 2 babies had a nice break there were areas of this hotel others have not mentioned which I felt spoilt parts of our stay.

Weather: during this time of year it is cold from 5/6 pm until around 10/11am! Wished we had taken warmer wear. although the hotel can not be blamed for nature, the design of the amphitheatre made it too cold to watch the shows or take our children to the mini disco.

Bars: good selection of lattes/coffees, soft drink Etc as others have mentioned. But never had a hot cup of tea always Luke warm. Did not like the smoking allowed in the bars or around the mini disco time when children where present!.

Sales: from the minute we sat on our loungers we where approached by the spa/excursions teams.. lost count how many times we said 'no thank you' to be asked 10mins later by another. They tried selling the submarine trip for 45 Egyptian and 25 Egyptian for a 4month old baby!. We booked in the end with a company from the mall up the road for 20 Egyptian each and the baby free!!.

The spa was a waste of money, myself and my friend had the Turkish bath and my partner and hers had the thai massage. Both were unprofessional with poorly trained staff, laughing, talking, YAWNING to each other during the treatments.

Rooms: Rooms big and spacious, the tiling in the bathroom needs updating, toilet seat and bowl stained. Also bedding needs renewing.

Pools: there really cold even the heated. Aqua park really good.

Food: average.

Hotel grounds: This was a major issue! The hotel is not designed well for prams or wheelchair users.. they have many bridges with big steps to get over the numerous pools that we needed cross to get to and from our room. No elevator in reception to get to the lower pool area.

Reading back through this review I seem like a right moaner but I'm giving you our genuine account. Would I recommend? yes probably but later in the year, but I wouldn't return purely because we like to visit different places.

Oh and people mentioned the Russians being rude and not queuing .. I Agree but I also witnessed the English being just as bad at times!.

I went to Jungle Aqua Park in May/June 2012.

Just Loved it I went with my mum and 3 children aged 1, 3, 4 and they loved it too. Especially the two older children. Our friend also joined us for our second week with her two children who were 12 and 13 they loved it even more than mine. When we told the staff that she was coming they put us next door to each other. Which was great.

Food = There were 5 different restaurant’s and there was that much choice I don’t think any of us ate the same thing twice of a dinner time or tea time. Breakfast . The children loved the omelette’s. All the food was fantastic.

There was also a selection of little take away type bars at the aqua park, they did things like chip wrap burgers and pizza, and all drinks.

Aqua Park = The Aqua Park was fantastic for the adults and the older children (we had such a laugh) and there was a smaller area for the younger children with slides and it was very difficult to get the out to eat.

Staff = The staff were fantastic would help without any complaint, and loves the English children as they said Please and Thank you other nationalities didn’t have any manners and would bark at the staff!!

Bungalows = They were lovely. There were about 20 in a circle with a pool in the centre, which was great for the kids to play in while the adults get sorted for the day.

If you have children or are young at heart I would definitely recommend this resort.

I booked ours on Holiday Gems

Just wish they had more of the same in other Countries

Room Tip: I dont think it matters they were all fantastic

We arrived on the 28th December via Gatwick and stayed for 2 weeks with a baby of 4 months and 6 year old son.

We had a lovely relaxing winter break the hotel and water park are outstanding. Everyone is so helpful. The cleaniest hotel I have ever stayed at, in fact staff were being torn to shreds if there was a scrap of rubbish on the floor. Our room was kept wonderfully considering we needed clean bedding allot due to a sickly baby !!

Most of the guests are Russian, our son did not go to the kids club as it was ruled by Russians, English are the minority.

We thought that the food was not that bad we did not struggle to find something to eat and if you don't mind your kids eating loads of pasts and chips there is always something for them. The only hard thing about dinner time is if you are not there for 6.30 you may need to queue for a table. The hardest thing at dinner is everyone wanting different and its not all under one roof like we are used to. If someone wants pasta and someone wants pizza and then someone else wants the carvery (like we all did) then you had to queue in 3 restaurants and bring it to one table which meant me and my husband never ate together if we wanted a hot meal !!

"Le Marche" is meant to be English food - it is a carvery every night and they cook the food (potatoes and veg) in front of you and carve the meat at the end. The meat was fabulous. Famous helpful English chef Cliff works in here and he is very helpful.
There is a German restaurant that we did not use, neither did we use the Italian as it was just too bust to queue for your fresh pizza with 2 kids.
The Mediterranean restaurant is attached to the Moroccan and they had the best selection of cake/desserts.
The Asian restaurant has 3 corners /stations, one for kids with past, chips and a meat and one station with rice, noodles and a meat for Chinese and the same for the Indian. Be prepared to queue and they only make one dish an evening and if it runs out then they get something else out, this is also the same in the English restaurant, when the carvery meat run out the meat quality next bought out was not as good !!!.

There was also a pasta house that cooked your pasta and sauce as you wanted it and an ice cream parlour that also made pancakes.

Not all the restaurant are open for breakfast and lunch.

The bars only serve wines, cocktails and beer. The only spirits available is gin, whiskey, brandy, rum, vodka, which was not good for me as I drink Martini !!
The wine is not too bad but the red is chilled.

All the soft drinks are proper coca cola, sprite, fanta. If you want diet they are not in the pumps you have to ask over the bar.

The mini bar in the room only contains water but if you ask your cleaner they will leave bottles of soft drink too.

The nearest bar from your room and own pool outside may be a 3 min walk away so we found it easier to set up for the day round the main pool by the resturants so that drinks are easier to get and it is a heated pool for the kids. The pools all seem to be 110 cm to 150cm so ideal for our son of 6. All the pools by the rooms are beautiful and well kept but freezing. The main pool is in bad state of repair with the lining lifting which causes pockets that me and my son got our foot trapped in. The life guards are the pool are very good and watch the kids closely.

The water park was great fun for my husband and son. They state that you have to be 10 or 110 cm to go on the rides, our son is 116cm so he could go on everything but a few lifeguards try to say he was too young as he was not 10. To be honest if you can proof they can swim well they do not seem to mind as they loose there jobs if there are any accidents so they are being cautious, so once they've seen your child swim they are reassured. It really is a well thought out fab water park they have all the slides. There is a restaurant at he side of the water park for lunch that was very pleasant and not so much queuing.

The welcome meeting was a waste of time for us as we do not do excursions with a baby and they did not tell us enough about the restaurants and resort etc... All I asked the rep for was a clothes horse as the baby was sick lots and there is no where to hang clothes or your towels unless you have a balcony upstairs and this could not be provided.

Tips - no one asked us for a tip and everyone was very helpful so we did tip well our cleaner and a few other staff on the last day but they really did not expect it all they want is good rewiews to their bosses.

The room tv was quite good - good films on in the evening in English.

The Evenings are very very cold the time of year we went and very windy and we did not take coats so used towels for the baby as blankets. We had quilts and blankets over the top at night.

There is a shopping mall about 10 min walk away past the go karts which is very good and has a fab supermarket where we got pampers nappies and aptamil baby milk all at good prices.

The hotel do supply beach/pool towels that you request your cleaner to change when required I wish this was mentioned in brochures as it saves taking your own and saves on luggage weight.

Good evening entertainment - we only saw a few, an acrobat show and cobra snake show.

We did go to the gala new year dinner which was in a huge marque which we thought was fantastic. The effort that was put into was amazing the detail was fabulous and we liked the food too. Again whole birds and carvery big selection just lots of queuing !!! we did not make it to midnight due to our baby as it was very loud and she needed to sleep. They put on lots of entertainment and music and ensured english sat with english , russians with russians ect....

We had quite good weather but a couple of days it was too windy to sit out in the sun.

An overall relaxing holiday as it is dark by 5 pm so dinner at 6.3 and bed before 9.

We would go back but maybe later in the year so that it is a little hotter.

Hope this review is helpful.

Room Tip: The best rooms are in the thousands by the water park - quite and close to everything. We had room...

Hotel staff fantastic, animation staff fantastic. Food 6 restaurants so you can find something you like in each, if not they will cook something for you.
Only moan is that there is 23 swimming pools but only two were warm enough to use and somedays they were still cold, spoke to rep and he said hotel cant afford to heat them, not really my problem! Also the pools close at 5 not much to do after that time.
Learn from our mistake and take $1 dollar bills to tip this will get you a long way, better service.
Take playing cards and book because nothing to do at night. If you have small children they will not be able to spend any time in the pool at all, the non heated ones ares absolutely freezing. Also kids club only caters for up to 12 so kids older than that will really be bored.
This resort is also 95% Russian (very rude people) and the rest a mix of German, English etc.
If you want a drinking holiday you will be happy but if you have older kids mine is 12, he never met anyone his own age to play with and was bored.

Room Tip: We had 1074 great location

We had a fab two weeks at this hotel in the middle of December. We have been to Egypt 11 times but not to Hurghada, only a day trip from Luxor for some diving.
We are a retired couple with no grandchildren in tow but found the hotel wonderful.
The staff couldn't have been more friendly and got to know what we wanted without even asking us.The rooms are incredible spacious with our own veranda right next to the pool, everything was spotless. We stayed in a bungalow which was lovely.
Lots of restaurants to choose from, our favourite was the morrocan but something for every taste.
3 Bars and that was our only complaint we are non smokers and all three bars were smoked out,
in the summer it wouln't be a problem but it was a bit cold to be sat outside in december at night.
We would certainly go again if the price is right.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms are 1100 or in that area

This was my first Christmas away in the sun. We all had a fantastic time, the staff at the hotel made everyone feel great and celebrated Christmas with us and put on a fantastic dinner on Christmas eve. Christmas day by a swimming pool was different for me but it was very easy to get used to!
The hotel had such a fantastic selection of pools and slides for all ages, which kept everyone occupied the whole time we were there. The food was also superb and the staff were great. I am vegetarian and one chief (Cliff) made sure I was catered for and made the most fantastic meals each night which was a real treat for me. There was entertainment on but it was limited space and so if you near the back you couldn't see anything and then when people stood up there was no chance so we left and didn't bother to go back.
There were a lot of Russians and they were mostly rude, by pushing in front and speaking badly to staff and other guests. Apart from this minor point we had a great time and would go back.
The accommodation was excellent and we had lots of space, it was extremely clean and tidy and the room boy kept it perfect and made the most amazing shapes with the towels which delighted us all when we returned each day.

Room Tip: It all looked good.
