“Good hotel for good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

When I came to the Festival Riviera Hotel at Hurghada I was impressed. It's big hotel, with very nice location. Great view form the hotel room, from all the restaurants and the terrace. The Hotel located at the first line relative to the sea.

The rooms was clean.

The food and drinks are normal for Egyptian Hotels level.

I didnt like the personal. All they want - just to take money from us for everything: for good room cleaning, for baggage dropping and s.o.

So, it's normal hotel for the money I spent. Anyway, if You choose Egypt for Your vacation at the Hotel, You must be ready, that service here not very good.

Room Tip: Your travel agent must inform You, that the Hotel consist of 2 parts: first and second line relative...

This hotel is not a value of money. It should be 3 stars hotel not a 4 star. I don't know from where to begin.
I made a reservation by phone and booked two pool view rooms, four night stay. When i arrived, the receptionists told me that your reservation is not pool view. They gave us a hard time in checking-in and they weren't helpful at all. The rooms were bad, they needed maintenance...a lot of maintenance. there wasn't anything in the fridge, not even water. We needed an extra bed in our room. the receptionist knew that but do anything. I called the receptionist four times requesting it with bottle of water. I received it at 12 am. the bed was not comfortable at all and it made really strange sounds.
The food was terrible. At breakfast, they give small slices of cheese. When i asked for more, i find the chef become very upset as if he is serving me for free. I found beans in all three meals mixed something i can't tell it was meat or something else.
One thing was good and only this one thing, the night show...it was really funny & i really enjoy it. I checked out the following night, got a complete refund and to be honest they didn't give me any headaches.
The guest relation asked me for the reasons of my early checking out. I told her the whole story. She replied & told me I know everything . She was upset of the hotel as well & amazingly it was her last day at work in this hotel.

Room Tip: If you still want to check in this hotel be informed that all pool & sea view rooms are kind siz...

i can tell lots of advantages about this hotel:
1. staff was friendly and always helpful
2. room was cleaned everyday (2 bottles of water was left after every cleaning+clean towels)
3. food was nice and different (despite we stayed for 2 weeks, we didnt get bored of the food, loved the egyptian's traditional foods, maybe missed more fruits than we expected)
4. there was plenty of free activities, like gym (it wasnt new and big, but for the main workout its enought), volleyball, aqua gymnastic, pool volleyball and so on + evening shows every night (animation team)
5. very spacious rooms
6. english language channels on tv.
7. towels, beds, umbrellas near the pool (beds near pool wasnt new, but it wasnt so bad)
8. Hotel surrounding was beautiful
9. beach is very close to hotel, which was great.
10. there was always a cab waiting near hotel, just agree abt price straight away.

i can think of one minus: mosquitos! in the evening was so many, that my legs was all bitten (thats when u were shorts or mini skirts) so dont forget to talk repellent.
would be nice to hv bigger pools for swimming, but i managed to do that in these ones aswell.

We stayed at the hotel in October and had a fab time. The rooms were clean and spacious. Fresh towels everyday. Air con English news channel. The hotel itself was lovely. Lovely pool and pool bar. Beach pool was lovely, little bar onside which did not serve alcoholic drinks but that's fine. They have a beach bar which was great lovely service. Could use the hotel next door which was fab. Great bar staff at pool, and in restaurant. We actually spent most of our time at beach or at hotel next door. Lovely gardens. Only disappointment for this hotel was the food. We found it terrible. We are not fussy eaters at all and van find most things to eat, but this hotel was just mainly for Russians. We go to hurghada twice a year and know that mostly Russians are over there and have become accustomed to their way but the food here was just lacking in everything. They have a oriental restaurant which was by far the best. We actually asked our rep for more al a cart tickets as the good was just impossible. We did go to the hotel next door for a meal and the food was fantastic, served outside but were told that were not allowed to eat at night. But they let us finish. They have a fish restaurant which was Lovely, again only al a cart. Honestly this hotel was turkey fab lovely beach and pools ect, but the food was if a very very poor standard. Which is a shame. Would defo go back but to the sister hotel next door which I think is called the jarden? Not sure. But if you stay their then your fine as the food was much much better. Hope this helped

Spent a week here beginning of March. Weather was lush. Hotel grounds kept very clean. En suite bathroom could do with a little maintenance but considering the amount of time we spent in the bathroom it was fine. All staff were friendly, some maybe too friendly and started to get a little creepy but nothing 2 females travelling on their own couldn't cope with. Be wary of the people selling trips while you're by the pool, some didn't seem legit and the information we got told about the one we did book was incorrect. Booked snorkeling on the grounds it was going from the beach and we'd see dolphins, got to the beach and put in a bus to go downtown and didn't see any dolphins, its out of season. Lots of variety on the food, I'm a fussy eater and I didn't starve. Overall a very reasonably priced hotel with everything you could need. We had a room near the night club but it wasn't too noisy at all. We booked our trips through the company who did our transfer and they were brilliant, Hvezda.

Four Stars was enough for my overall rating for this resort, but because of the many bad comments, I added another star, in order to create some balance, which this outstanding resort deserves.
Of course it is not a five-star hotel, so do not expect to be treated as a king, but expect that they will try to satisfy you in every way.
4 nights in this resort was special and I have spent a good time.
It all started when we arrived to the hotel 3 hours before our (check-in), everything went fast, thanks to Mr.Haitham (reception), but unlucky we found ourselves in a room with no view at all, we can see the sea, but not the beach and another hotel under construction, but because we don't care much to stay in the room, we didn't ask to change, it was noisy in the early morning when workers start to do their job, but on the other side it helps me to woke up early to spend the day.
the bathroom was narrow, but no problems with the hot water or the towels, maybe it's color was a shock and funny "GREEN" !!
There was no diversity in food, especially salads and desserts, they do one kind of rice and another soup, If you're a fan of junk food, you will enjoy the pizza, kabab (shawerma), hot dogs, pasta, fries, chicken panee..etc.
The taste was Ok, and the restaurant is big and got good views to enjoy while you are there. schedule for the restaurant, was sufficient in order not to miss meals and do not feel hungry throughout the day.
There are two other restaurants belongs to the hotel, one of them Asian, and the other is italian. Hotel gives you the experience to try one of them once free, the Asian restaurant i experienced was good
there is 3 small swimming pools, with warm water (not enough warm), but some people managed to swim..... the atmosphere was very mild during the day and the sun is shining, but some breeze make you feel cold, but, of course, this problem is not for Russians.
you can access the other neighbor resort's swimming pool, it's much bigger.
The problem was to find enough seats to lie down under the sun.
As for the beach, it was great and very close to the hotel, and multiple places to enjoy the sun and some small fences that keep privacy, and working to fend off the cold air.
You will find there many offers for many activities and not expensive, such as sea sports, diving, riding camels and horses in the desert in a whole tour or a simple round at the beach, there you will find 2 bars and a volley ball playground.
The animation team was good and active, especially those I have dealt with them (shady, Neely, Mira)
many things to do during the early morning, like gymnastics and playing darts, afternoon there will be aqua-gymnastics, Volley ball, Football, aerobics, and some times there will be entertaining shows.
at night, exactly 9:45 every day at neighbor resorts's disco .. there is a show for the kids, then DJ maestro turn it on for dancing all night.
The main point, which almost convince me to give a bad assessment for this hotel, is the day were there was a concert Dec. 7, entrance fee was $15, i paid a lot of money for (A/I), i should be allowed to all the events inside the hotel, without paying even one extra penny. lucky you're i am forgivable, but let people decide if they want to go to a place let them pay "again" to spend the night.
not serving mineral water in the room, only you can drink from the coolers around the hotel, is not also a good point.
cheap drinks at the bars are normal, but wasn't a good point too.
i didn't try the spa or the beauty center, so i cant judge.
no internet service for free, another bad point.
there you can find some good photographers offers taking you a picture for about 3$, if you're interested.
the hotel guest mostly were from, Russia, Ukraine, Deutsche, and few dutch, most of them cant speak English but they were fun, i did some friendships.
me and my friend were the only Egyptians i think.
if you are a family with children, this place will be great for you, also if you are a group of friends.
all the staff can speak at least 3 languages, so don't worry about 'dealings'.

Room Tip: The hotel is very spread out so make sure you ask about the location of the rooms. Noise levels can...
