“Beautiful hotel, but hurghada itself was a no no”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

My partner and i stayed here on our first holiday together. The hotel was stunning with lovely food, the waiters at the restaurant couldn't do enough for you. No complaints about the hotel, wouldn't return as we have a lot of other countries on our check list that we want to travel too. We took a taxi to 'downtown Hurghada' and it was horrid!! Went into one shop and the shop keeper made us feel like we couldn't leave his premises until we'd bought some tat from there!!
But as i am reviewing the hotel, then it gets a thumbs up as it's everything you could ask for and more :)

We went in July 2011, as a group of 6 friends! It was definitely the best holiday we have ever been on.

All of the staff are really friendly and will do anything to make your holiday special! The two members of staff who stuck out in our minds were Sayed from the pool bar and Aymon, who pretty much goes everywhere and does everything... they made us feel really welcome.

All inclusive at this hotel was brilliant, there were so many restaurants to choose from, and all of the food was delicious!! All of the pools were great as well... we stayed at this hotel when it was Sunrise Le Jardin, and we could use the pool from the Festival Riviera hotel next door.

The only downside to this hotel was the location... on one night we did venture out into Hurghada itself and it probably wasn't very safe to. The hotel organised the taxi there and back, which was on time, but it's not the safest place to be at night.

We did however, go on an excursion to El Gouna which is a nearby gated, closed off community with a lot of very expensive hotels in, and we took a boat trip from the marina. We thought we would just get off the boat and swim in the Red Sea, see the fish and the corals, but in fact we managed to swim with dolphins in the wild. This was definitely the highlight of our trip and made it unforgettable.

Would definitely go back here!!

If you are British then think again !
Well we have just got back after 2 weeks in this hotel 29/06/2012. The hotel was clean to a standard but not brilliant. The food was the same everyday if you could get near it for the Russians. We must point out that the restaurant smells of sour milk when you walk in every time. We must say we are not fussy eaters at all but it’s not the best in the world and is aimed at the Baltic States. The BIG problem with this hotel if you are British you are forgot about. We went with Thomas cooks and if you work for that company SACK YOUR REP WE COULD NEVER FIND HIM UNLESS HE WANTED MONEY OFF YOU. We glanced him twice in two weeks and to be honest he did not give a dam about anyone of his guests. You are out of the way and let us stress this there is no entertainment on a night time for you at all. You can not get drunk because you can not get a full glass of anything the service at the bars is CRAP. It smells of stale beer all the time. You have to wait and wait to get any service and all the time the Russians just push in and have no manners at all. If you are lucky and get a big glass then the bar staff throw what ever you want into it and push it at you. There was no waiter service at all and the whole of the staff looked fed up with there jobs. We must point out we where on the forth floor and our cleaner was a really hard working man who just could not help you anymore if you begged him he was just ace at his job. Saying that the power in the hotel is off twice every day and the lifts had a mined of there own. We did like Egypt but would not go back to this hotel if it was FREE AND WE GOT £1000.00 free spending money for the 2 weeks.

Room Tip: Stay on the forth floor

Dear Guest,

We would like to express our regret that you did not enjoy your holiday in our resort. We appreciate every single comment you have mentioned as it leads us to improve our services. Unfortunately you haven’t contacted someone from the Hotel Management or the Guest Service Center to solve some of your comments on spot and to find the way how to make your stay a bit enjoyable. Also I would like to clarify some of your points.

The food is very personal issue. The hotel is having different theme night every day, there are live cooking stations and the chiefs are ready to prepare you anything upon requests. Each person likes something else. The hotel is accommodating more than 14 different nationalities and we are trying to satisfy all of them with some food items.

The description of the hotel and its location is clearly mentioned in each catalogues, brochures. In case our guests would like to go outside, there is a limousine service available.
The evening entertainment is taking place every night at the amphitheatre. There is also a live music 3 times a week in one of our bars under the terrace. I hope you did not miss it, as we are receiving many positive feedbacks about this entertainment.

We apologize if you have faced an improper behavior from our service. We would like to assure you that the concerned department head was informed about your comment and action has been taken. Please let me to draw your attention that the staff is trained to deal with all the nationalities the same.

One more time, we are very sorry that we haven’t met your expectations. However, we would like to welcome you again in our resort to show you the real meaning of hospitality.

Thank you
The Hotel Managment

This was the second time in this hotel. Special thanks to Mr. Farag (food and beverages manager) Atef (lifeguard) Mohammed and Mourkus (from the pool bar) Bahaa and small Sayed =Egyptian Danny de Vito from recreation. These staff make our holiday pleasant, enjoyable and unforgettable.
Many of the staff are kindly but unfortunely some are only consentrated to be in touched with young, good looking russian girls. We have experienced it at beach bar, they served and give them drinks at once when they approaced the bar.
Be carefull when you gonna go out to Hurgada town and take taxi outside the hotel. Some of taxis take more than 5 dollars one way. (eventhough there is a sign inside the hotel reception) We have experienced and have seen fight outside 2 times during our stay and it was very scary. Because taxi drivers are very aggressive and security guard, police and staff of the hotel can`t do nothing. People from outside approached the tourist offering taxi and hasjes or something.....

Room Tip: Choose rooms that face swimming poll area

I've been here in 2010 in my summer vacation with my boyfriend and all i can say is that it was perfect!!! Great meal, comfortable rooms, great swimming pools and a lot of space for relaxation..the staff was ok, i can not complain about anything. You can see the resort from the pictures..it's marvellous! Maybe it's not a really 5 stars hotel..but, for egypt, it's ok..

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in May last year it was our last holiday as a family as our kids are now adults. We had an awesome time apart from the food, although plentyful the smell wa a little off putting. The manager of the Mamma MIa restuarant became friends with us and we ate there most nights he name was Abdul Mohamed i think but i nick named him Bob he was super so thanks Bob. The rest of the staff were great, the only things that spoilt it were the food and having to wait hours for loo roll not a good thing with an upset tummy! Overall we had a great time my daughter has fallen in love with Egypt as have I, my son was ok with it so was hubby. We shall return again.
