“Try the camel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

We were recommended to try Upstairs Restaurant, and were very pleased with this restaurant. It is the best restaurant in El Gouna, and the most "gourmet"-restaurant. The prices are a bit higher than the rest of El Gouna, but still cheaper than in Norway.
Very nice place, great food and excellent service. They even made a special dish for our 1,5 year old daughter :)
Try the camel, this might be your only opportunity :)

“Very nice”

Upmarket, but friendly. Great food. Feels a little bit formal at first, but the head honcho & his team are very friendly.

“Very good dining experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

We only ate out a couple of times while in El Gouna and chose the Upstairs due to good reports on Trip advisor, both occasions were really good. Staff friendly and efficient, Food was very good, tasty and nicely presented, avocado shrimp starter great, halloumi cheese, really nice. duck. excellent, basa and salmon very good (slightly overcooked for my liking but not dry). The egyptian wine was pretty good too. Had the viognier and the viognier chardonney and both were excellent Starter, mains, pudding and wine came to about £65 which we thought was good value.
