Stayed at the Happy Life Village Hotel in from June 20th 2013 for 2 weeks, with my husband.
The hotel is about an hours drive from Sharm El Sheikh.
We booked an independent transfer with A2B and were impressed with how it all worked on arrival. The transfer was in an air conditioned taxi and on the return it was an air conditioned minibus (albeit 1/2 hour late picking us up).
The Village is set on a deserted area of the coast with its own reef and jetty. Plenty to see if you snorkel.
There were very few other English guests - mostly Eastern Europeans. All the staff spoke good English.
Rooms were basic but well cleaned and with free air conditioning - a variety of towel art greets you each day. The room had a bath with shower over and there was also a hairdryer in the room. The beds were very firm and I had to ask for extra pillows.
As usual there weren't enough hangers in the wardrobe!!
The room also had a TV with a couple of English speaking channels (news and film).
We had a first floor sea view room which also overlooked the bottom pool and had a spacious balcony with table and chairs.
The complex has 3 swimming pools and one of these has adult/child slides. There are plenty of sun beds and free pool towels, once you get a card from reception.
The animation team run activities throughout the day, including Aqua Gym (middle pool), Water Polo (middle pool) and they are very friendly but not pushy.
There is free Wi-Fi but you have to go down to the filo Bar next to the Health Club facility. Note All Inclusive drinks does not apply in the bar!!
The Restaurant food was impressive in range and quality and staff were always attentive to your needs.Tables were serviced quickly and drinks served promptly after ordering.
There is a water station to fill up your bottles in the restaurant and a few others scattered around the complex (but they are only open from 10.00 am!!!).
Just to note lunch was served in a different restaurant area to dinner, but was still managed in the same efficient way.
There is a bar down on the beach (Aladdin Bar) for drinks while you try out one of the many sunbeds under the beach umbrellas. It also hosts the weekly Belly Dancing and Whirling Dervish Show (note this involves some audience participation!!).
There is a hotel minibus that you can use to go to and from Dahab town,,,,operating around 3/4 times a day.
The hotel had lovely garden areas and pathways leading down to the beach, with security staff positioned on the perimeter of the beach and also along the pathways. There was no feeling of danger at any time and there was no one hassling you when you were on the beach.
There was a small Gym and games area just below the bottom pool. There is also a dive shop and Health Club on site. Prices for massages seemed a little high.
The only down side for us were the dogs freely roaming around the site, even though they seemed quite docile.
The weather was really good for the 2 weeks - reaching 42 degrees most days. It rarely dropped below 35 at night and there is often a really warm wind blowing, which felt like you were standing in front of a hair dryer.
The sun seemed to set as quite early and it was dark by 7.30 pm , but it was light from around 4.30 am.
Overall a great holiday with excellent food, amazing service and fabulous weather!
Thanks to all the staff for making us feel so welcome and making it a lovely relaxing 2 weeks in the Egyptian sun!
Ask for a pool or side sea view!
