happy life is exactly that this is the 3rd time to egypt and the first to dahab what a gem it was a relaxing holiday, it wasnt busy but that was all the better as i was looking for a relaxing time with dear friends, i would like to say thank you to muhammed the resturant manager he was very attentive to our needs, always polite and exceeded our expectations when my friends husband was unable to get to breakfast he got a waiter to take breakfast for him, then brought us all a cuppa later on very thoughtful, would like to say a very special thanks to SAYEAD and OSSAMA the staff at the pool bar they were excellent, we could not fault there dedication to our needs we had no complaints whats soever, dispite the cheq rep trying to say otherwise, all we ever saw him do was drink smoke and on his mobile not a good representive for his tour company,i am sure the staff will remenber us as the 3 noisy but happy english people, 3 teas please sayead !!!!!thanks hosam for the best spaghetti bolognese you spoilt me as did all the chefs all with a smile, well if you want a holiday that is relaxing with brilliant staff, lovely rooms great views then this is it, i am going back next year thats if they will let me back in. just one downside the submarine trip to see coral reefs rather exspensive for £40, and if you have any problems with back dont go i and my friend ended up with back trouble as you are sitting in an uncomfortable position for quite awhile thanks for making this a brill hol first time i have used trip advisor will do again

Room Tip: our rooms were located near pool bar not far from resturant or beach i think all the rooms would hav...

THis was our third visit here. The last time was three Years ago. We were greeted by all the staff as old friends. On arrival please.don't be put off by the plastic flamingos in reception yes the hotel is a bit tired but what makes this hotel such a jewel is the staff. If you want to feel special and pampered this is the hotel for you. The food has improved and even my 80 year old mother found something tasty to eat at every meal. The hotel has taken on board previous complaints and all the food is covered. Salad is prepared freshly and. At breakfast the tomatoes etc are cut by order. Non of my party had an upset stomach. The hotel has no loud music by the pool. If you want entertainment it is available.
My top tips. If you have children that are fussy about cereals take your own they only have cornflakes. Take a torch at the moment the hotel is quiet so some paths to the rooms are a little dark. If you are a smoker take lots of disposable lighters despite keeping ours out of the sun we had two explode and 4 just split. My last tip is for the ladies take toilet paper and wipes when you go to sham airport they have new dispensers that aren't dispensing.

Room Tip: Blocks 9/01/11 are nearest to all the facilities but if you want sun in the afternoon and evening yo...

We returned late last night from the most amazing holiday I have ever had in Egypt (and we always holiday there) . We were originally booked for the Tropitel Dahab Oasis and so pleased we changed hotel to go to Happy Life Village, so aptly named, & a real Gem set by the Sinai mountains which meet the beautiful warm blue sea..
Now onto our stay, we arrived at Happy Life around 6.30pm, the journey from Sharm Airport taking roughly 45 to 50 mins, we were booked in and immediately taken to our room by a smiling bell hop who showed us how to work the air con etc, our room was large and airy and spotlessly clean as was the bathroom, ok so a few have said the rooms are dated but I have stayed in quite a few hotels in Egypt now and to be frank I think the rooms at Happy Life are some of the cleanest and nicest I have seen, our room was very large & had the most amazing views of the Sinai Mountains and the sea, a quick wash and freshen up and it was off to dinner, the sight that greeted us was awesome, so many different dishes of meats, fish, salads & vegetables to choose from and a whole army of smiling chefs and waiters every meal time , the sweets were even more amazing and even after two weeks we did not get fed up with the choices of well presented beautiful tasting food, once of twice I fancied something different and it was soon prepared and on my plate, the staff really cannot do enough to look after you, always smiling and ready with drinks or anything else that takes ones fancy. Breakfast choice was also brilliant, so many different bread rolls and sweet pastries, cheeses, meats and a lovely chef who always cooked fresh eggs either omelletes, scrambled, or fried to your liking, there were fresh fruit salads, fresh grapefruits and much more, lunch again was brilliant, lots of choices and smiling chefs and waiters and Muhammed the restaurant Manager ALWAYS took time to go to every table making sure everything was ok, he worked non stop and was such a lovely guy as were all the staff.
The 3 pools were spotlessly clean with plenty of sunbeds and straw parasols if required, the bar staff waited on everyone hand & foot and you did not even need to order refills because as soon as your glass or cup was empty it was refilled, shame other hotels in Egypt do not adopt this wonderful customer service which is far superior to any hotel or resort I have ever stayed in, this hotel should carry 4 stars for services, cleanliness, quality of food. I have spent the BEST holiday by far at Happy Life and we will not hesitate to return for many years to come.
The beach also has plenty of sunbeds and parasols and again attentive and lovely bar staff, Nady never stopped smiling and we had so many laughs with him and the Animation Team guys too ..
The snorkeling is magnificent and I even got brave enough to do a night snorkel with underwater torches hired from the excellent on site Lagona Dive Centre, I also did 2 intro dives whilst there and next year we WILL return for 3 weeks so I can do my PADI Open Water Course.
We also did a Quad bike trip up to the Blue Hole, again this was awesome, we had over an hour of wonderful snorkelling and then Beduin Tea before we set off to go back to the hotel ..
All in all I cannot find ANY faults with Happy Life Village my only suggestion would be a tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms !!..

Room Tip: We had room 12B6, fantastic views of the sea and mountains !

Just returned from two weeks in Happy Life and would book again tomorrow. It being my first all inclusive, I was worried about the food but it was amazing. Spoilt for choice at each meal, and really relaxed restaurants. All the staff are so friendly, thanks to Mustafa for all the tasty cakes and to Kero and the rest of the waiting team - nothing was too much trouble!
There are three pools at the hotel, all very clean and each with a pool bar. No trouble getting sun beds as the hotel is relatively empty at the moment - great for us but a shame for their business, it really is a beautiful place. The beach is clean with nice straw windbreaks and umbrellas and a beach bar (which you don't really need to get up and go to since the waiters make sure you always have what you need!). You walk out on a pier to protect the coral - the fish are absolutely amazing there, spent most of the days snorkelling. One thing I would like to ask is please pick up any rubbish that you swim past - some boats bringing snorkellers from other resorts dump whatever they like, it is so sad to see!
The animation team at the hotel are great - thanks Tito, Sam and Zee! We did stretching/yoga in the mornings and played volleyball as the sun went down. There is also aqua-aerobics and waterpolo, as well as darts and bowls etc. It's not for everyone, but more than anything the guys are just a great laugh!
There is a free bus to Dahab three times a day, went three times but to be honest the hotel is so relaxing we just had cocktails at the beach bar most evenings and then went to bed as the sun rises early and then sets relatively early too.
One last thing - thank you to Samir for the different towel designs each day!!!

You won't regret going to Happy Life! :)

I stayed here for a week after 3 weeks camping in the Sinai desert but even so, the luxury should not be underestimated! Large rooms, beautiful bathrooms, large pools and restaurants and well stocked bars!

The rooms were spotlessly cleaned everyday and staff were friendly and attentive.

Resort is on the beach but not in Dahab itself so if facilities not in the resort are required a trip into town should be made.

I spent my time diving at the beach so did not spend much time around the resort but what I saw was truly beautiful and tranquil!

Am just sitting on the plane home from a brilliant week's holiday..... no better place to write about the happy life village than from 50,000 feet!

Lets start with the positives, of which there are many. The complex is located in a beautiful setting about an hour drive away from Sharm (The complex is in a really quiet area, 10 minute drive from Dahab beachfront, almost in the middle of nowhere!), with its own private stretch of beachfront, overlooked only by a row of imposing, impressive mountains running down one side of the complex.

The layout of the complex is great, with all the facilities being relatively close to one another. There are several very clean and well maintained swimming pools which run down the centre of the village towards the beach, with different areas catering for different groups, ie. one kids pool with slides etc. and other pools aimed more for relaxing. There are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas around, and there are several bars where you can get drinks and food pretty quickly and easily.

Onto the food, we were glad to be all inclusive and found a great selection of food throughout the day and week. Lots of fresh fruit, salad and vegetables which was really good and the selection of dishes was good too. It was not gourmet quality, but if you want basic, tasty food with lots of choice, then you cant really go wrong. The local beer and wine was also great, and the waiter service was very good too.

The accommodation is basic but comfortable and kept very clean. The balconies are a lovely size and perfect to sit out on.

Probably our favourite aspect to the village was the staff, who were very friendly and welcoming without being too pushy or fake in any way. Whilst they have an understandable focus on sales, you do not feel like you are being pushed into buying anything and the staff seem genuinely keen to provide fantastic service with a smile on their faces.

Special mention to our Spa 'Friends' Ahmed and Maia (the happy newlyweds), Walid (henna artist extraordinaire), Mohammed (amazing massages!), Hamada (amazing pedicures!) and Ranny (generally lovely bloke) in the spa, and then our fantastic waiter Nazmy in the restaurant and the always happy Naydi in the beach bar - these guys were great!!!!!

We didn't get too involved in any evening activities but there seemed to be a good choice of activities if you wanted to get involved, we did watch the traditional Egyptian dancing which was awesome. We also did one trip to Dahab in the evening and had a great meal at a restaurant called Ali Baba's - definitely worth a trip, lovely 3-course meal for 2 for under £40)
We are not big divers but we did some snorkelling which was pretty fun - saw some cool fish, a stingray etc. The beach is scattered with lovely natural umbrellas and windbreaks which really gives you some privacy.

Only a few very small negative comments:
- not enough poolside towels
- food selection became a bit samey after a few days
- only one location offering wi-fi, was quite slow and only available after 1pm... If you were online at the same time as more than 3 or 4 other guests then it was almost too slow to use! If there was better wi-fi throughout the complex, it would make such a big difference.

Overall we had a fantastic week, and bearing in mind the budget price that we paid, we thought the Happy Life village was a brilliant destination for a week of relaxing in the sunshine. Would definitely recommend it and would be keen to go back in the future.

Ant and Dewi :)

Room Tip: We stayed next to the buffet restaurant which was perfect for everything! A balcony facing the sea i...

We have just retuned from three weeks at the Happy Life. We originally had two weeks last september for my 60th birthday and it was so amazing then that we came home and immediately booked for 3 weeks in april. On arrival we were geeted as old friends by the staff on reception. If you need anything just ask and they will make sure it is done or supplied. Always with a smile.
We had e,mailed them prior to departure asking for a quiet, upper room with sea view we got 11B5 which was perfect. Rooms are a little tired but are kept very clean with bed linen changed regularly and towels daily.
Hotel staff here are excellent always happy, helpful chatty and do a very good job which is just what is reqiured to make your holiday.
We were all inclusive so the food was very imortant to us, and it did not let the hotel down. Starting with Hamed the BOSS chef and his lovely team off chefs along with Mohamed restraunt manager and with his team of restraunt staff, they made sure your visits to the restraunt was always a pleasure.
Breakfast was always an enjoyable experience with fresh fruit, eggs anyway, breads, cheeses cakes and lots more.Coffee and tea is also very good.
We always had our lunch at the lower pool bar, although we had to pay for this. The snacks are really good and tasty and the variety is excellent and very very reasonably priced. Sitting outdoors with good food a cool beer and total relaxation, wonderful. Here we were looked after by a special team run by Sayed (now our adopted son) .We also had our evening drinks here surrounded by the wonderful staff, always smiling, chatting and joking they became like our own family. If you do go to this bar please give Sayed a hug from us.
Evening meals were basically buffet style with some nights being a fresh fish night where you chose your fish and watched while it is cooked for you also a fresh meat night also means you get to choose the type of meat you like and it is then cooked to your tase, also there is a barbecue night. All this accompanied by multi choices of veg, potatoes and rice. and pasta. Also there are Egytian food for you to try while you are there. The sweets are to die for especially the biscuits. Wine is served by the glass and is very good, just as good as the ones i buy at home. All in all the food is ecellent and very enjoyable Hamed creates food that you want to eat, and if its not quite how you like it tell him and it will be done. All this served by helpful smiling staff. Sometimes when you go to get your food it can take 15 mins before you get back to your seat as you stop to talk to all the staff, really happy relaxing atmosphere. Tables are cleared immediately between courses by Mohameds wonderful staff, always with a chat, smile and joke. Glasses are re-filled immediately never any need to ask. Here look out for Kero he is a star always friendly.and polite.
Our days were spent at the beach, very peaceful as hotel was not too full. Here we were looked after by Nady and the beach team. Nady never ever stops working and we were supplied at least ever half hour and then in between a special cocktail would arrive fantastic service. Always a joke or chat.
All I can say is what a fantastic hotel with good food and wonderful staff. Other hotels could learn a lot from the staff at this hotel.
We loved it so much we are already in the process of re booking for three weeks in September, to go back to our Egyptian family. Cannot wait.

Room Tip: 11B5 12B5 e.mail hotel before departure and request room type you require.
