“Not anyone who knows how to snorkle”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

We booked a tour to Ras Mohammed with Palma Bedouin Safari and was very disappointed. The booking was smooth and the salesman nice and seemed to know what he was talking about. We wanted a boat tour. I told him I was a pretty experienced snorkler, while my friend wanted the boat trip. He said the snorkling was very good, talked about Napoleon wrasse etc.

1. Our drive was one hour late. When I called (after 40 minutes outside the hotel) I was told "give it some time". Well - I had already done that. The driver took full responsibility, and said that he could take us to another snorkling site for free. Since only one of us is a snorkler we were not interested. Still, I think that our contact at the Safari company should have bothered to make a call and check things out.

2. The snorkling was average. If you are an experienced snorkler - DON'T GO ON THIS TRIP! You will see very little you cannot see for free at the snorkeling sites in Dahab. The last stop were at a beach resort just outside Sharm. Not what you expect when your going to a national park. However, the sites were good for less experienced/first time snorklers. Shallow, warm waters without currents or wawes. Also, the boat was very clean and felt safe, the crew was nice and spoke English well and the lunch was excellent.

3. We were supposed to snorkle in a group of c 25 persons while the guides shouted "blue trigger fish" etc. Many in the group were first time snorklers and some - could not swim/was very poor swimmers! After getting kicked and swum over, I left the group and told the guide I wasn't paying money for this. At the second stop, they had divided the group (which should have been done at the first stop) and the situation was far better. But - none of the sites were specacular and we could not have entered far into Ras Mohamed since it was no more than an hour boat trip from Naama Bay.

4. After having gotten off the boat, we had to wait for 45 more minutes for the pick-up.

As I said, for beginners this is probably a good tour. But if you have done some snorkling and don't enjoy feeling feeling like a sheep in a herd - go elsewhere!

“Super!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

We purchased 2 trips from Yasser at the Palma Bedouin Safari; a snorkelling boat trip and evening visit to the desert. Both trips were WONDERFUL!
On the boat trip we snorkelled in beautiful reefs, sunbathed on deck, enjoyed a delicious lunch and....swum with dolphins!!!! Totally unexpected and totally magical :-)

The desert trip was priceless. We went to a traditional Bedouin camp, experienced the food, music, people and vast, starry night sky that the dessert has to to offer. All this whilst laughing and relaxing and talking with our guide Yasser. He tended to our every need and made us feel very welcome. We can't thank him enough for such a wonderful experience.

If you want a super trip, with super people, we reccomend this company!
