We were lured in by the advertised build your own pasta meals at an incredibly reasonable rate for Avalon. The restaurant was fairly empty on a Sat night at 7:00 in June. The paneled walls and early American tables and chairs were definitely dated. The room smelled a little musty. Service was a joke. The kids tried, they apologized, but it was obvious they had no clue. The waitress apologized for the slow delivery of alcoholic beverages. She had to leave the dining room and go to the other side of the hotel to get the drinks. Are you kidding me? We had to ask for bread. It was stale so we sent it back and got fresh. The food was actually good. 3 of us had some type of pasta and one had steak. Don't know that I'd go back early in the season again. May go back in Sept. or Oct and see if the service is any better.
