I really wish I could come up with a better title for Luigis, but every step of the way, I just couldn't help but feel sorry for this place. The dining room has a strange shape, it's dark inside (not in a romantic way), and even though only half full, we were told of a 15min wait, due to a backup in the kitchen. I mean...c'mon! This is the place you hold out hope for, that something inside will be a saving grace. I can report on the pizza for my last trip. It was AMAZING. It wasn't obnoxiously large, but a perfectly vacation sized. I had a couple slices leftover, but it went down well as a late-night snack. The wine was moderately priced, and the staff was pleasant enough, but lacking in energy. I can't blame them on that, however, since they worked in such drab conditions. For my money, Luigis will undergo either a dramatic renovation in the next five years, or will be consumed by it's sister restaurant, The Golden Inn's Sea Glass, which takes a much larger footprint of this oceanside property. **The Sea Glass and Luigis can offer Gluten-Free menu options**
I still feel let down when I look back on the times I've dined here. There's so much to be desired about the experience. For my own happiness, and to ease the burden on a troubled kitchen, maybe next time I'll Take-Out. But in all honesty, that pizza is worth a try if you wan't something different than the Jersey/NYC pizza.
