“Charming and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

This is a nice and charming hotel with a friendly staff. My room was very spacious, with a nice balcony, a big bathroom, tv, aircondition, fridge, kingsize-bed and even a sofa. However, I went here with a group, and apparently there are huge differences between the rooms - So maybe it's a good idea to have a look around the hotel if possible, or be specific when booking. The free wi-fi worked very well.

A charming hotel tucked away not far from the centre of Puerto Ayora. Our room was on the top floor and was very spacious if a little sparse. The bathroom was basic but clean, will need a refurb soon.

The pubic areas were nice, the staff were very friendly, breakfast was excellent and the wifi generally worked most of the time.

Overall this hotel was good, but at $120 per night was quite expensive for the quality.

Its all about expectations. When you are traveling to Galapagos Islands, you can't expect a Fairmont for a reasonable price and this hotel is very reasonably prices for what you are getting.
Location: 2 min walk to the main street and water front. Simply great location and that's what you come here for. Safe during day or night.
Rooms: Clean simple rooms. Low light (electric is very expensive and limited on the islands). HUGE PLUS is A/C. No TV (who needs it, you are here to explore not be stuck in your room).
Food: Great home made breakfast to your liking. Simple and friendly. There are also pleanty restaurants in the area.
Staff: Very helpfull and try their best to assist.

Would highly recomend for mid-budget travel (spend your money on other things while visiting, as you will not spend much time in hotel). If however you expect Four Seasons, look elsewhere. I travel a lot for work and pleasure and mostly stay in 4-5* hotels, but when you travel to exotic places, its not about hotel, its about the location and its amazing here.

PS: One night we had a HUGE bug in the bathroom (you are close to nature) so the staff member spend 15 min running after it and trying to get it out... scary, but can happen in any hotel given the location.

Room Tip: Choose mid-higher floor.

We were able to walk everywhere in town from this centrally located hotel. The room was comfortable with a large bathroom. We enjoyed the flowing design of the buildings with lots of mosaic tile work. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Air conditioning worked very well but we were kept awake by the constant dripping of condensed water falling onto the floor (about a quart/liter of water per night). The nearby local fish market is a must see with the sea lions and pelicans jockeying for scraps.

I went with a group of travelers this march to the hotel. This is a very nice decorated hotel located just on block behind the main touristic section in Puerto Ayora. Not so far away from the fish market and Charles Darwin Station.
I had a room in the second floor with a very nice terrazza... where to read and spend the afternoon reading and drinking a Coca Cola!
Friendly and nice people always at the front desk!

Room Tip: Rooms by the front desk are noisy!

Attractive property with spacious rooms and a great breakfast included. Staff was pleasant but a bit aloof at times. Overall a good value.

We spent 4 nights here and found it most friendly and enjoyable place and very well priced too which is rather incredible in Galapagos. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and clean with the air conditioning that did not keep us awake all the time. We enjoyed the breakfasts. The view from the large terrace right in front of our room was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall we liked it and we would recommend it to friends.
