“Horrible very unclean hotel in a very bad location!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012 via mobile

The worst hotel I've stayed at overall. The floor of our room smelled like dirty feet. The place is totally out of the center of town so you must take a taxi to the harbor. For the money it is the worst.

We stayed here as part of our 5 day Galapagos Is tour. The location is out of the way of the main commercial district. The hotel is up the hill about 12 blocks from the Malecon (waterfront). You either need to take a taxi or be prepared to walk.
The room was very basic with tiled floor and a toilet / shower. We organised with the travel agent for a big bed for me and the wife and 2 singles for the kids. When we opened the door to the room we were given 4 single beds. This was corrected the next day by pushing two singles together.
The shower was hot enough but the screen was two short so all the water would leak onto the floor next to the toilet.
The windows to our room (#1) had timber horizontal blinds with one piece of the blind snapped off. This meant it was possible for someone to look in the window through the gap. Quite possible given the window is overlooking the main pathway.
The restaurant was not good. Very tidy but usually only 3 food warmers containing rice, vegetables and the other one contained the main creation. A glass of juice was provided with your meal but the waiter would never top your glass up because that meant there would be less juice for him to drink behind the bar. If you wanted another drink you needed to pay for it.
The only good thing I liked about this hotel was the jacuzzi by the pool.
This hotel is no frills. We won't be back unless we're desprate.

This is overall a pretty new hotel. They added some rooms on to the existing structure within the last couple years. The room we stayed in was room 36 which was in the main (older) part of the hotel. Our room was good size and the air conditioner worked very well. We had a "King Size" bed which was really just two twin sized beds slid together. One morning during our stay, the shower "heater" stopped working & then the waterflow stopped altogether shortly after. It's tough when you are in the middle of a shower when this happens. The next problem with the room was the bathroom door would not open. It wasn't locked, but simply would not open when you turned the handle. Finally, the hotel has one hair dryer that is shared by everyone. Needless to say, you could never get the hair dryer.

We went there as part of a convention so the rate included meals at the hotel. The food served at the hotel was average at best.

On a positive note, the staff was very nice & wonderful.

Room Tip: If you are going to stay in this hotel, get one of the rooms in the new addition. I heard that they...

This hotel was included in our Galapagos package and was definitely a great choice. It was completed in 2011 so everything is pretty much brand new. We had a triple room and found that it was very spacious, clean, had AC, and a color TV. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help out. I don't recall many speaking english, but the few that did, knew enough to understand and communicate. The food was great and very filling!

There is a pool you can relax in that is cleaned on a daily basis. Above the restaurant is an open game room that overlooks the town and has a pool table, ping pong table, fussball, and seating area you can kick back in. The center of town is a few minutes away so you do not have to worry about any noise or disturbance.

As you can see from the number of reviews and the fact that it is fairly new, not many people know about this hotel. If you end up staying on San Cristobal Island I highly recommend staying here!
