“Rooms okay, the rest of the hotel not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013 via mobile

This hotel has no atmosphere, dull, drab and lifeless are words that come to mind to describe it. Due to their no smoking policy in the bar the customers have taken to smoking in their rooms no matter if it is designated a smoking floor or not. Even though its above a busy road there are often more customers outside by the pool than in the tired reception area and bar. The issue at the pool is that the service is poor, it's much quicker to get any drinks you want from the bar and take them to the pool yourself. Breakfast is average but at $30 I would expect much better than just average. On the plus side, the Internet is now free of charge and worked reliably for the duration of my stay. This time I didn't bother with the restaurant after previous disappointment, I ate outside the hotel so I cannot provide any comment on the current quality of the food.

I recently had reason to stay in the Pullman Abidjan overnight. I suppose given the location in West Africa it probably should not have been a surprise. I was of the impression it was one if not the best in the city ?.

The hotel is in serious need of refurbishment, the rooms and bathrooms are very very tatty. The carpet in the room needed a serious steam cleaning ( I can see why they supply slippers) and the bath room could only be improved by throwing a grenade into it. I'm sorry Pullman but the place is a poor 2 star hotel. The owners need to make some effort to get the place into shape.

The up side was the staff are very friendly and the food was good, the bed was clean and comfortable with hot running water in the shower and the A/C worked.

Room Tip: Check your room first, the non smoking rule is ignored in the rooms

The hotel is well located in the business area, if the traffic does not collapse is not far away from the airport. Needs urgent renovation, Accor strategy of non investing in good hotels and let them die calling them Pullman one day should change. The management is quite professionnal, it is not the fault of the workers that try their best...

Seen better days – hotel and staff. The location means this hotel will always do well with business visitors, but it really needs an overhaul and some training for the staff – smiling would help! Rooms are getting tired and the public areas are lacklustre.

There are some bright spots – the patisserie in the foyer is great. I never take the expensive breakfast downstairs in the dining room, but have a pain au chocolat and coffee in the lobby. Also the bar is a great meeting place. And if you need to eat out, go to La Croisette – one of Abidjan’s best restaurants – within walking distance of the hotel.

This is an ok hotel, but the facilities are limited- I would have expected a gym of some description. Average room overdue for an update. The restaurant was good, but expensive for what it was. The service generally effective, but unfriendly and unsmiling. The options in Abidjan are limited, but I will be looking to stay elsewhere on my next visit.

Oh dear - where to start - stained and run down public areas and the room had stains all over carpets, beds and in the bathroom - grim! there was something brown smeared all over the shower curtain and the shower head was held on by a fabric plaster!!!
The bar area was prob the best bit as well as was room service and the spaghetti bologneise was well worth it. Dont look at the menu though as they dont offer anything off of the printed menu. Everyone was friendly but I couldnt wait to leave! oh and the gym is in a shed with no air conditioning and one running machine and some weights!

The Hotel is in a good location. It is very busy. The food is great. The staff are very friendly. The hotel room is spacious but the bathroom are old and look like they would need renovations. The hotel is also very expensive though it has very little facilities. They have non smoking rooms though the rooms all smell of cigarette smoke. The bar is nice but expensive.
