We booked a 4 night bus trip from Toronto to Atlantic City from June 25-29th of 2006. We are not seasoned travellers, but were looking for a reasonably priced trip at a fun destination.

We arrived at the Trump, and the only word I could come up with was "WOW". It was absolutely gorgeous. The lobby has elegant chandeliers, everything is sparkling and immaculately clean, and you can see and hear the casino.

Our room was fabulous, there was a gorgeous armoire, and the bed was huge, and so comfortable. The maid service was great.

The casino itself is very nice. My only complaint is that there not enough hostesses serving drinks, it takes awhile to find one, but since the casino was quite busy, that was understandable.

All the staff were quite friendly.

Lots to see and do in the area! The boardwalk is so much fun, we acted like kids at the amusement park, and picked up some great unexpected bargains in the little shops. It was hot when we went, so we spent some time on the beach. The water was extremely rough, but it was lots of fun to watch the surfers.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, there is not a negative thing to say about it.

  • Liked — So much to see and do, lots of "cheesy" fun.
  • Disliked — Nothing bad to say

Booked a two night stay through [--] for 2/14 thru 2/16. $79 plus tax per night brought it to just under $200 for the two nights. Tried the $20 trick at check in and was unable to get any upgrade. It didn't work here. Got a regular room on 23rd. floor with slight view of ocean, if you looked left. For the money it was OK. Nice size room, dated a bit. Bed was a king but very low and hard. The TV in the room was so small but didn't go there to watch TV. The room was clean.
Ate valentines dinner at Marc Anthonys. I really was surprised. It was very good! Fresh fish and large portions, I was happy. Dinner for two, 2 glasses of wine each, bottle of Pellagrino and 2 appetizers bill was $160.00 including a 20% gratutity. Worth it and I am tough on restaurants. The casino was empty on Valentines night but no table limits lower than $10. OK with me as I was playing VP. Full pay only on $1 machines otherwise 8/5 on quarter JOB. Still was OK, better than most at Mohegan Sun.
Most restaurants/buffets were closed mid week during the winter.
There was only one option for breakfast, I can't remember the name, maybe Buddahs cafe or something like that. I can't remember it because it was terrible! The eggs on the very small buffet were fake eggs and I couldn't eat them. Pancakes were hard and waffle pieces were soggy. Very poor buffet. There was a regular menu as well and my DW says her eggs benedict were OK.
Thursday my DW had a massage at the spa and she said it was great. I played VP all day long and lost but accumulated food/beverage comp $ very fast there. Went to Bally's Thursday night and used my free cupons for IL Circo. Small version of a Citque show and I thought it was a good hour of entertainment, of course it was free so if I had to pay not sure if it would be worth it? Used my comps to eat at Animations at Bally's and had a good meal there. Bally's seemed more crowded than the Taj.
Went back to gamble at the Taj and stayed with VP, good drink service and did OK.
Friday check out was fast but valet was slow. During winter months the staff seems limited and service is slower.
All in all the Taj was OK for the $ I spent but no way is it worth more than that. The rates they ask for weekends are rediculousand not worth it.
On a scale from 1-10 I give the Taj a 6 as the rooms really need updating.

My husband and I stayed at the Trump Taj Mahal for Valentine's Day, 2007. We arrived early, around 1:00, but were able to check in at that time. The room was great! We had booked a standard room through the hotel website for $79.00/night. We were very impressed with the size of the room, and the cleanliness. Also, there is a huge window with a view of the ocean that we liked. The decor was really cheesy, animal prints and elephants, but that is a matter of personal taste.
This was my first time in a casino, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Overall, I would say the Trump Taj Casino was OK. It took FOREVER to get drinks, probably my biggest complaint. We had to "stake out" cocktail waitresses, and approach them with our order. Kind of a pain. I understand we arn't high rollers, but would still appreciate some consistant service, and we did tip the waitresses for each drink.
We didn't win any money at the casino. We were down about $115 by the time we left, just playing the penny slots. I know that wasn't the casino's fault, but it didn't help make our experiance very special.
We did sign up for the Rewards card when we got there, and had a total of $10 in food comps that we didn't even use while we were there. I was disappointed with the comps overall, but I don't really have anything to compare it to.
At one point we strolled over to the showboat and were regretting that we didn't gamble there! It looked a lot nicer and they had a huge area of penny slots, for cheapies like us. At the Taj there was only a few rows of penny slots scattered around the casino.
One thing we did do while we were in AC was visit the Ripley's Believe it or Not musuem. We had a great time there! It is definately something different to do while in AC.
Overall, we had a very fun time at the Taj. I would definately recommend the hotel, but if we went back would try gambling at another casino.
Also worth noting, I don't think I would go back in the winter. The boardwalk was too cold to really be enjoyable.

We stayed at the Taj on 2/11 for a pre-Valentines Day getaway. I have stayed many places in AC (always comped, so I can't complain) and I think this may have been the best yet.

We arrived at 1pm, and thanks to Halina in Guest Services, were able to check in early. To my surprise, my significant other had arranged for roses, champagne and choco covered strawberries which despite our early arrival was already there.

The room was spotless and I was especially impressed by the bathroom. The exfoliating body soap was a surprisingly good product for hotel gratis items. The ocean view, looking south, (room 3240) was nice. It was a non-smoking room and for once, in my experience, the whole floor abided by the rules!

Just to get this out of the way, we didn't win! We gamble about once per month and are never BIG winners!

We snuck over to Resorts for the Legends in Concert show (highly recommended). That was fun to pass a couple of hours without spending money.

We then had 9pm dinner reservations at the Safari Steakhouse - Excellent! Higher prices, but worth it, especially if you can get a portion of the bill comped. The caesar salad is excellent-the best I've ever had. Avoid the grouper w/lobster mashed potatoes, it was just so-so. The NY Strip, ordered with regular potatoes was sensational and cooked perfectly.

After a long night at the tables, we were able to get a later checkout at 1pm w/no problems.

I think this is a respectable place to stay in AC and has replaced the Showboat (new) Tower as my #1 pick. We are a couple in our mid 30's, upper middle working class, not expecting the Beverly Hilton, but don't want a Motel 6, so take comfort that this review is reliable.

Have fun!

My wife and I just returned from the Trump Taj. No matter where we go, we have a great time. We had a great time here also but I have to let you know why Trump has all the money :)
All drinks a doubled. The food is awful and for the buffett at the Bombay it cost $12 for cardboard eggs, OJ that tasted like water, and coffee that tasted like the OJ. This was how it was in the 3 places we tried in the Taj. The Hard Rock had decent food.
We wanted to workout while we there there. It would cost 20 per day for one person...ouch. This is the first place I have stayed where I had to pay for the use of the gym. Yes they did have nice equipment...but come on...20 per day?!!
We still had fun....just don't eat the food.
