My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Taj Mahal. After requesting an oceanfront room and being told that none were available, we were upgraded to a suite on the 14th floor. It was AMAZING! It had a jucuzzi in the room, with a very comfortable bed and cathedral ceilings. The bathroom was HUGE and was all marble. It was a very comfortable setting. At night we orded the imported cheese plate to go with some wine we had bought. I definitely recommned it, it is well worth the $18! The stay at the hotel was great, and I would love to stay there again. We did not eat at any of the restaurants in the hotel because I had read so many bad reviews before going, so we decided to have lunch one day at Johnny Rockets in Ballys. It was so much fun. The servers dance to oldies music, the burgers are delicious, and the milkshakes are out of this world. One evening, we attended a comedy show at the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana. It was so much fun, and was the best comedy show I have ever been to. Later that evening we had drinks at the Ego Bar in the Taj Mahal, and I would say DO NOT get drinks there! They are expensive, the bartenders are not very nice, and the drinks are extremely weak! You might as well get free drinks in the casino, because they taste pretty much the same. I would also recommend going to the Pier Shops at Caesar's, where you can find some great restaurants that are affordable. We ate at Buddhakan one evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. The portions are large enough to share, and everything is very tasty.

All in all, the Taj Mahal was outstanding, and if you go ask for an upgrade...you won't be disappointed!

We have just returned from a one night stay at the Trump Taj Mahal and we were there to go to see the Kenny Rogers show which we recieved comp tickets for the show and also had a comp room the room is usually very comfortable and always clean we were just a little dissapointed this trip because we had no ocean view , but all in all the room was very comfy and the show was amazing it was definately well worth the trip to just see Kenny he is one heck of a performer and Linda Davis was also there perfoming and she really knows how to sing with the best of them we enjoyed her as much as we did Kenny, well we have stayed there in the past and it has always been a wonderful experience the staff is always so friendly and courteous. We usually have some luck with playing the slots enough to make our stay enjoyable we don't come home rich but we definately have loads of fun there. And we always eat either at The Bombay Cafe or at The Sultan's Feast and i have never found anything wrong with any of the meals from either one like some of the reviews have said some not so nice things about these 2 places i always enjoy our meals there and we do breakfast and dinner there at one or the other place
From a very satisfied Donald customer

On a spur of the moment decision we decided to see if the Taj had a vacancy on a Monday 2006. We had stayed at a Comfort Inn the night before and it was just OK. We were happy to learn there was a vacancy in a NS King with a great view on the 31st floor. We booked it for 1 night. The Casino was also great. We would go again. The staff was also very friendly and so helpful.

  • Liked — The cleanliness and easy acess to casino
  • Disliked — Time Share People pressuring.
  • Tips/Secrets: — Go without a reservation and there is a chance you will get a great room at a great price.

We got 2 rooms from hotels.com and asked for king non-smoking rooms near each other. We checked in and were told all the king non-smoking were gone, and were told that we could come back in the morning and try again. We spent the night on a very hard double beds, but it had a great view and the people we went with were 2 floors away, and didn't have a view. The next morning went down and got the run around but ended up at 4pm getting the new rooms. Which also had very hard king sized beds, but the view was even better.

The casino was cold. No one we came with won anything. (Slots, craps, or roulette.)

The breakfast buffet is no good... go to Resorts right next door. You don't have to go outside there is a walk way to Resorts and to Showboat on the other side. Resorts has a breakfast buffet with an omlette bar. Taj doesn't. Resorts also has better comp's.

Walk over to the Showboat and get a players card from there because it is good at Bally's (Atlantic City), Caesar's(Atlantic City), Harrah's (Atlantic City), Grand casinos(Vegas), Flamigo (Vegas), Paris (Vegas), Sheraton (?), Rio (Vegas), Horseshoe(Tunica), and Harveys (Reno/Lake Tahoe). After you get the card you can ride the bus service to the casino's mentioned before. We grambled at the Showboat but did not like it. It was to bright and the dealers were no fun at all, and spoke to each other more than the players. Take the bus to Harrah's it's off the strip. If we would have done our research we would have stayed there too. Plus, the bus goes to the strip, so you're not in no man's land. Comp's were great there too.

If you are awake at 4 in the morning (like we were) go to the same 24 hour place (the one with the sucky breakfast) get a grilled cheese with bacon and french fries... it's GREAT!

  • Liked — grilled cheese and bacon sandwich at 4am
  • Disliked — hard beds and check on services
  • Tips/Secrets: — Stay and play at Harrah's

We paid more than $400 for our room for a last minute anniversary geaway. The room was large and had a nice view. The decor was Safari theme (leopard or tiger print bedspread...). It was quiet and comfortable, however the following things detracted from our stay:
We received no extras at all, i.e. breakfast coupons, a casino voucher, etc. Would have been nice to give guests even a $10 voucher for the slots or something for that amount of money.
There was very little information in the room about what offerings there were in the hotel restaurants and clubs, i.e. performance times, etc. and absolutely no general info on what other events/attractions there were in AC.
Hotel guests are advised that using the spa and the pool cost $20 extra.
What we did get for free was a sales pitch from time share sellers trying to get us to attend a "seminar" as we walked to the elevator area for the hotel guests -- every time we went by we were harassed by them. I think that's extremely tasteless never mind outrageous.
The casino floor smelled strongly of smoke.
It was quite a long walk from the self-park area into the casino and to the hotel elevators. Had we gone out of the garage and crossed the street, we would have been closer to the check-in area, but signage is not plentiful.
The Taj Mahal had several nightclubs but all seemed to be of the glitz-and - loud music variety -- no piano bars, etc.
We didn't eat there.
We just didn't like it. We won't stay there again, even if the rooms are half as much as we paid.
Perhaps if you're a fan of Donald Trump, you'll like the Taj.
We aren't , and we didn't.
