The 3 or 4 star choice was a toughie but I went with 4. First of all, I know you "shouldn't" but I will compare it to Vegas. Any hotel on the strip in Vegas is better than this hotel. Now that thats out of the way this is not Vegas.
Valet was prompt and helpful, check in there was a line but it went fairly quick. Went up to the room (every room above the 5th floor must be ocean view) and it was a great room. Very well decorated with a nice Taj theme. Nice furniture, big bathroom, nicely decorated, well done with the room, and it had it's view.
Then we went down, and it all went downhill. There are below average stores here (the only place I found good ones was Tropicana) and the retaurants were terrible. I had the buffet dinner and enjoyed it. Kind of of funny-it has 2 servings of everythings, so really it's only half the size variety wise.
The location on the boardwalk is good, close to the better piers.
This hotel was fine, nice casino, great rooms, and thats about it. I won't be going back to Atlantic City but I guess if I did I'd stay here again (and eat and shop off the property).
