The Tropicana is one of my (and my boyfriends) favorite places to stay in Atlantic City. Yes, it is a bit of a distance from the other casinos, but it offers so much that you don't need to go to the others. There's multiple restaurants, shops, and entertainment for every taste.

Recently, we went and stayed in a regular room in the Havana Tower (usually we stay in the West Tower in a jacuzzi suite) and thought it was a bit overrated. The room was nice, but average in style - for all the recognition and price difference, we expected a bit more glitz and at least a refrigerator or small sofa (neither were in the room). The Havana Tower is definitely convenient to all the happennings, so that probably explains the cost. If you have a choice, the West Tower in a jacuzzi suite is very nice or just the West Tower in general will due if you don't mind walking just a bit to get to all the entertainment.

The Tropicana is quite helpful and has usually given us a free upgrade (Sun. - Thurs.) when we asked nicely. Room service, when we used it, was slow and food was cold, so we opt for eating outside of the room. The breakfast buffet isn't that great, but the dinner one is ok.

We really like the Tropicana for its entertainment and all-in-one convenience. We're not much of gamblers, so can't really comment on the slots/tables. The servie is pretty good and the rooms are nice.

We loved the Quarter for the ambiance and the food but the hotel was horrible in dealing with a large party. The sales department was non-responsive at times and we have yet to receive our final billing - a week and half later. The noise and beds were unbearable in the Havana Tower. We checked out in the middle of the night. Next time, I am going for the fun but not to stay.

Stayed at the Tropicana in August for a Bachelorette party. WE stayed in the Havana Towers which is the most expensive tower. For the money we paid it was a very average room. The new Quarter was great because there were so many options for going to the bar. We had a great time at Planet Rose, the karoake bar. The casino itself needs a desperate updating. You feel like you are in old Vegas and they serve Old Milwaulkee beer in a plastic cup. So because we were able to get great rates, we booked a second trip in November. THis time with my husband and two other couples. We were put in the West Tower. Compared to the Havana Tower, the West Tower was a dump. There were burn holes in the blanket and the maid carts were in the hallway day and night. The decor was outdated. It made the Havana Tower seem like luxury. It still does not compare to the Borgata. A last word of caution if you stay here: KEEP AWAY FROM THE BUFFET!!!

I went to the Tropicana for my anniversary. We purchased the "Romantic Getaway" package. Our suite was generous in size with a partially blocked view of the ocean and there was a whirlpool tub/shower in the bathroom. I have reviewed several room packages in the area and found the Tropicana to be the most for your money.

My husband and I booked a room at the Tropicana this past weekend just as a last minute getaway. We booked it through the hotel. We were asked if we would like an oceanfront room and we said yes. We drove about six hours to the hotel and proceeded to check in. We were told that all the oceanfront rooms had been given away. We asked how that could have been done since we booked an oceanfront room. Well, after about 30 minutes of talking to several managers, we were told that we simply could not have the room we booked. We also booked a king size bed and got a queen. We were very disappointed to say the least. The bed in the room we were given was very hard and tended to sink in the middle. We spent the night clinging to the sides of the mattress so we wouldn't wind up in the pit. Otherwise, the room was adequate. The casino was great and the Quarter was fantastic. Despite the horrible bed and denial of the booked room, we enjoyed our stay in Atlantic City. I don't think I would stay at this hotel again because of the uncomfortable bed.
