My daughter, her 3 year old son and myself stayed at the Trump Plaza May 28th - 30th. We wanted to park in the self park garage, so we were able to drop our luggage off in front of the hotel and someone brought it to our room after we checked in. We were also told to park on the second floor to have direct access to the hotel...very convenient. All staff was friendly and helpful. I liked the fact that there was a security guard at the elevator and you had to use your room key on the elevator. Our room had a great view. One window overlooked the boardwalk and ocean. The other window overlooked the Tropicana Casino and surrounding area. The room was nice. If I want to be critic, could have used a little extra vacuuming...found a couple items on the floor in the tight spots next to the bed frame. But, for the week day price of $89.00 a night...could not beat it. The buffet was good but not great. A review had suggested the buffet at Bally's (The Virginian), but Bally's would not allow a 3 year old to go to the buffet because it was on the casino floor. We had dinner in the room one night...room service was great. The next night we went down to the restaurant...prices were about the same as room service.....wished we had used room service again. We went to Johnny Rockets in Balley's...great burgers...and the entertainment was fun...the waiters dance to oldies. The hotel is in a convenient spot to walk the boardwalk or catch one of the buggies the guys push you around in. Also, for a fun time at the beach. There are homeless looking people on the boardwalk so be careful at night. Stay in a group or use the buggies for transportation at night.

My aunt and uncle are taking my mother, who is disabled from a stroke, to Atlantic City for 5 days. They asked me to make the reservations. They wanted something centrally located for the benefit of my mother. I immediately thought of Trump Plaza Hotel.
I asked for a handi-capped accessible room. The reservation operator informed me that in order to gain access to the handi-capped rooms, the person has to go through 4 different elevator banks !!!!! What kind of handi-capped accessible room is that? Shouldn't handi-capped room be on the lower levels of a building in case of an emergency?
The reservationist said that if my mother reserves a regular room, they would give her a shower seat , if one was available at check-in. Gee thanks! (Handi-capped rooms generally have walk-in showers so that the a wheelchair can roll in, and the person can take a shower easily).
I e-mailed the Trump organization to voice my concerns, but never received a reply. So, I am letting all of you know, if you are travelling and are disabled, try another hotel!

We went to see Jimmy Buffett at the boardwalk Hall and decided to stay at the Plaza. The only great thing about the hotel was the location. We did not need to stand in line outside on the boardwalk to get into the concert since they have a connector to the hall. When we checked in, our room was far from ready. The maid said it would be 30 minutes. My husband went to the desk to ask for another room. We did get one. However, while he was down discussing the issue, I saw stains on the comforter. God knows what that was! Thank good our new room had no stains. The new room had sheets that had holes in them, rips in the cloth chair, peeling wallpaper and it needed a good painting. We could hear everything that was being said in the hall and next door. There were trays of breakfast food left in the hall all day. Toast was on the floor. We dined at the 24 Cafe. The service was nothing to write home about. The waitress did not care about her job. She spilled water on the table and never wiped it up-just said 'sorry'. She forgot salads and gave us our bill before we were finished our meal. She never asked if we wanted dessert. This is no 5 star hotel. I tried not to think about the $400 we were spending to stay here. The Donald shoud be embarrassed to have his name on this "world class" hotel!

Multi-generational travelers--Grandma, Mom, Child (Age 4), and Great-Aunt--Booked a 4-day stay at the Plaza through AAA for 4 people sharing a room. Despite having confirmed reservations, and despite contacting the hotel directly THREE times during the day of arrival to alert them that we would arrive 8:00 - 9:00PM, we were not told until trying to check in that there was no room available for us that night. This was after parking the car across the street in the parking garage and schlepping ourselves and our luggage, with a tired and hungry 4 year old, to the front desk. The attitude of the staff was very surprising for a hotel of a 5-Diamond category that they purport themselves to be----the attitudes were not overtly rude, but neither were they overly solicitous. They did not smile and try to give the impression that they were sorry that the hotel overbooked---the facial expressions of the desk personnel could only be described as "stone-faced". We were put into a cab and driven well outside the city to a very nice resort establishment, however, there was nothing nearby to even get something to eat. Speaking with the desk personnel there, we found that at least 20 people were sent there from the Plaza that night.
After another cab ride back to the Plaza the next morning, the daytime desk staff were no different than the night staff--stone faces and not much to offer in the way of compensation for our inconvenience. After MUCH arguing, we were finally given two $50.00 vouchers for meals in their 24-hour cafe. Big deal!
The room we were given did have an ocean view, but the room was tiny and not what we had expected from a "5-Diamond" establishment. There was broken and missing tile in the bathroom and one of the electrical outlets did not work. Water pressure was minimal. Decor was tired and dated. The air conditioner on "high" was barely adequate.
All in all, a disappointing experience. The hotel had at least THREE opportunities during the day to tell us they had overbooked---our first call to them was at 11:00AM about our evening arrival---they were WELL AWARE that we were arriving that day----they had plenty of opportunity to give us a heads-up that we would be staying in an alternate property that night. Hospitality??? NO WAY!! We will NOT stay in a Trump property again, ANYWHERE!

I just got back from a trip to AC with my wife and brother to celebrate a friend's birthday. We picked the Trump Plaza because it is centrally located on the Boardwalk and because it sounded like fun to stay with The Donald.

If this hotel were a Marriott Courtyard, everything would have been fine. As others have noted, the bathrooms are old and the rooms look tired. All the time I kept thinking, "I paid $415 a night for this??"

Overall, the biggest problem with this hotel is that it's ugly. There probably was a time when people thought lots of mirrors and gold plating were classy. That time is not now. Step foot in any of the modern neighboring casinos and you'll feel the time warp even more when you get back to the Trump.

Service was so-so. While no one was ever rude to us, no one was ever helpful either. If you're going to claim to be a 5-star establishment, you need to do better than that.

We had no network TV channels and they forgot to provide soap, although once we asked for soap it was brought to us within a reasonable amount of time. That said, the toiletries we were given were not befitting a 5-star hotel. No mouthwash, shoe buffer, q-tips, etc.

My hunch is that they're just biding their time with this hotel until they knock it down and build something respectable. If they won't put money into it, neither should you.
