The rooms at the Trump were fairly clean, but small items were found under the bed and in the drawers. Hotel security was great. There was a security guard posted near the elevator / escalator at all times. Keys are required to utilize the elevator to the rooms. The area near the windows allows noise and cigarette smoke to pass between rooms. The shower was cold on the weekend. Moisture and odors built-up in the bathrooms since they were not equipped with ventilation fans.

  • Liked — The hotel was right off the boardwalk, and security was amazing.
  • Disliked — Smoke and noise coming in from other rooms.

We wanted to do a family get away to a place where it's exciting, lots of things going on. We're not too picky, but after staying at the Trump Plaza for one night, we know we will never ever do it again! The place, like one other review said, is a DUMP. Our room was dingy and dusty. The shower did not work well. The carpet was damp, sticky and probably mildewy. We kept our shoes on the whole time. Our room was in the east tower, which meant climbing escalators, riding elevators, and walking miles to get to/fro our room. Customer service is okay. The lady who booked us our room was obviously clueless. She saw that we had a young child w/ us and gave us a room right in front of the Beach Bar where they have loud parties til 2am. We did not sleep the night we stayed. The beach is not that great. Looks murky, both sand and water. And how annoying are those time share people! They act like they're a part of the hotel, helping you check in or show you the way, but they're trying to sell you time shares. If you're not interested, just ignore them and walk on. They wear these cheap blue polos w/ "Wyndham" written on it. They lurk around a small booth and near entrances, trying to get you to catch their bait. Overall, we would not stay there or recommend it to anyone. Even from the outside, the Trump Plaza looks dingy compared to the other hotels. The Donald should stop bugging Rosie and pay more attention to his properties w/ his name on it. After this stay, my respect for The Donald is zilch.
DON'T STAY THERE, DON'T DO IT!! (unless you're stupid and in your young 20's)

We booked a "Spring 2 night Package" available Sunday through Thursday. The food coupons were good at the buffet, but it was only open on weekends...complimentary beach umbrellas and chairs, available only on weekends; for the drink coupons, the bar was open only they couldn't mix any drinks because "the blender" was at the beach bar and it was only open weekends! Everyone had an excuse as to why the service was so bad and nothing was available. I ended up paying $72 for beach chairs and umbrellas from Ceasar's next door! Overall, the room was OK . We had an ocean view and king bed, which was comfortable. The room was a little shabby and worn looking and the bathroom was more than a little shop worn. The overall experience was disappointing and frustrating. And the staff was less than accomadating and totally unsympathetic to the fact that they book packages with services that aren't available. Given all the choices in Atlantic City, I would never stay here again.

I can't comment on the quality of this hotel because we were not allowed to check in. I booked and paid for this reservation on 3/2/07 through expedia. My wife and I were celebrating our 5th anniversary and spent a night in the Pocono's then a night in Philadelphia before driving to Atlantic City. When we arrived (Sunday afternoon) to check in, the clerk asked for a credit card - I gave her my debit card and she told me it was rejected. When I asked what it was rejected for - because the room was already paid for - she said they hold $100 for a security deposit on a credit or debit card. I told her that there was very little money in the account because we withdrew it to avoid numerous ATM fees and we don't have any credit cards. I offered to give her $100 in cash to hold as a deposit, after she checked with the manager, she said she couldn't take cash and we would not be able to check in. The policy listed on expedia said that either a credit card or cash was required at check in. I probably should have confirmed this with the property before hand, but I didn't have a problem with the other 2 hotels on this trip. We then got back in our car and drove the 5 hours home. I will never even consider staying at a Trump property or use expedia ever again because when we cancelled the reservation, we were charged for the first night and no one would refund it even though we were physically at the hotel but were turned away. I very easily could have had a relative go to the bank on Monday morning to deposit $100 into my account so they could get their precious hold, if we were at least able to check in on Sunday.

I booked my room with Orbitz months before my visit. A week before my visit I called to confirm my room. They didn't have it. They said to call back in half an hour. I did. They found it, they said they just haden't entered it into the system. I knew this was probably just the beginning of how it would go. I was right. When I got there they said the kingsize bed I reserved was not avaiable, just double beds. I got to the room and it reeked of tobacco smoke. It was also very hot because the A/C wasen't working right. I called the front dest and told them about the smell and A/C. They said it was a non smoking room, as I had reserved, but someone must have smoked in it. Yes, I think many must have smoked in it. There were tobacco burns on the carpet, bedspread and bathroom countertop. All they said they could do is have a maid come up and spray the room with an air freshner and have matinence look at the A/C tomorrow. I tried to get another room but they said NO. The room was dirty and small. The bathtub was tiny. The decor was out of the 1970's. All that was missing was a shag carpet. The window was also made not to open, so, no fresh air, just tobacco smoke. The Casino also reeked of tobacco smoke. The machines were very tight, that might have explained why it was nearly empty. Next door at Ceasers Palace it was busy and no smoke smell and the place was spotless. If only I coud have done a do-over. The resturants at Trump Plaza were way, way overpriced and the food was average. Do yourself a favor and NEVER stay at anything with Donald Trumps name on it. All smoke and mirrors, plenty of smoke. Awful experence, never again. I would have been better off at a Motel 6.

  • Liked — Nothing
  • Disliked — Dirty, bad A/C and the entire hotel reeked of tobacco smoke.
