I'm writing largely to confirm for people that the last couple of reviews (by travelbug337 and coljulbro), which echo earlier reviews, are right on the mark. We stayed at the hotel for four days last week in a room on a high floor in the East Tower. The ocean view is undoubtedly great, but the noise from the Beach bar is really shocking. It's not a minor nuisance; it make sleeping virtually impossible unless you happen to be the type who can sleep through anything. We had the same kind of experience others describe: We called to complain, and were given vague information about the bar closing at midnight. As it turns out, the bar closed at midnight one night, 2am the next night, and a little after 1am the next night. My wife and I had several conversations trying to figure out how the heck Trump thinks this is a good move, or fair to its guests: Do they make so much from the bar that they don't care about their guests in the hotel, do they just hope that enough people are gambling that 2am that the complaints won't pile up, or what?

Management, if you are reviewing postings on TripAdvisor, are you noticing the trend? There is a simple solution: Turn the sound amplifiers down! You could easily maintain a festive, party atmosphere with slightly quieter volumes so your guests can sleep. Until something changes, we will recommend to our friends and co-workers that they stay away from this hotel--whatever positive attributes it has, it's hard to enjoy or appreciate them when you can't get a good night's sleep.

We have always enjoyed Atlantic City and stayed in several of the casino hotels over the years. We(myself, wife and 2 boys)decided to give the Trump Plaza Hotel a try this go-around. We booked an ocean front view on the 19th floor and were pleasantly surprised with the nice view...that was until 9pm. Holy mackerel! The outside Beach Bar cranked up the volume on some club/rap music that was ridiculously loud and could be heard with annoying clarity in our room. I'm no social recluse and I do like some of that genre, but I got to draw the line when my boys(ages 7&9)hear some dj spinning Snoop Dogg and DMX with very loud and discernible expletive lyrics. We contacted Guest Services and were told the music would end at 12am. I suppose thats reasonable, so we decided to tough it out. When 12am came and went the music got even louder, call #2 to Guest Svcs was made at 1:14am. We were now told that the Beach Bar was throwing an employee party and would be playing until 2am. An offer was made to move us at this point but the inconvenience of relocating at 1:45am in our pj's and hauling our luggage through the hotel was not practical. We made arrangements to move to a streetside rm the following day and were told that rm would need prepping and a msg would be left on our rm telephone as to when it would be ready. By 5pm that day no msg was left and we had plans to shop and dine so we had to speak with GS again. The rep from GS did not know what we were talking about but did finally move us to a rm on the 10th floor. We got to the rm and upon opening the drapes to check out the quieter street view, we found ourselves staring at the now much closer Beach Bar(I should now be able to see the gold caps on Flava Flavs teeth). This was unbelievable! How the heck did they get this wrong? Upon picking up of the phone on their end, I could hear someone laughing in the background saying something about a "pain in the a$$". I explained their error and was told we would be moved to a mini-suite on the 5th floor. Maria of GS then told me that I was still going to hear noises in what I would consider a condescending/patronizing tone. I explained to her that I am tolerable of common "city noises" but shouldn't be forced to listen to a unsolicited rap concert. I'm pretty sure we were labeled as PITAs at this point. In our now 3rd move, blankets, pillows and sheets were not provided for the pullout couch bed and I placed call"4 to GS. I spoke with someone different this time and was told somebody would take care of it. A short time later we were handed those items and WE made the bed for our kids. We spent approximately $1,000.00(not including the room)in the restaurants, shops and other venues during our 2 day stay. During our short stay, we never raised our voice and always treated Trump staff cordially and with respect. I suppose the fact that we are not avid gamblers played a role in the way some hotel staff did view and treat us. Its a beautiful hotel, but unfortunately we had a less than stellar AC experience and won't be staying there again.

Checked in with a copy of their web page stating what we were entitled to. Waited in line for 1 1/2 hours , spoke to three people personally (front desk, players card, reservations)and one by phone (while they talked to many other by phone), were told that the special had expired 6 days after we booked. Nothing on the web page about expiry. Upset, but accepted this. Were booked into the east tower with an ocean front room, thought we were being pampered. They neglected to tell us the beach bar was going to be open to 2:00 A.M. one night, our getaway day. Noise was unbearable in room. Phoned down, finally went down to desk to complain. Offered us a late checkout (on a day we had to travel). Ended up getting $50.00 off room for one night. I would rather have slept. Would never return to this place. Have had better stays in $30.00/night motels.

The staff was competent and efficient. Great bellman (Jose--he went far to get ice for us at checkin.) Great location. The best shops are in the pier across the Boardwalk. Very comfortable room.

Just came back from a wonderful stay at Trump Plaza. I thought it was a wonderful location on the Boardwalk with easy access to everything. The room was clean and nice and check-in and check out was easy. All of our request such as roll-a-way bed and beach umbrella's and chairs where complimentery which was really nice. Would recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Really enjoyed my stay there and can't wait to go back. I almost forgot to talk about the views from our windows it was beautiful beach and boardwalk views that we didn't even have to pay extra for what a treat. We were on the 20th floor and the view was amazing.
