I'm writing largely to confirm for people that the last couple of reviews (by travelbug337 and coljulbro), which echo earlier reviews, are right on the mark. We stayed at the hotel for four days last week in a room on a high floor in the East Tower. The ocean view is undoubtedly great, but the noise from the Beach bar is really shocking. It's not a minor nuisance; it make sleeping virtually impossible unless you happen to be the type who can sleep through anything. We had the same kind of experience others describe: We called to complain, and were given vague information about the bar closing at midnight. As it turns out, the bar closed at midnight one night, 2am the next night, and a little after 1am the next night. My wife and I had several conversations trying to figure out how the heck Trump thinks this is a good move, or fair to its guests: Do they make so much from the bar that they don't care about their guests in the hotel, do they just hope that enough people are gambling that 2am that the complaints won't pile up, or what?
Management, if you are reviewing postings on TripAdvisor, are you noticing the trend? There is a simple solution: Turn the sound amplifiers down! You could easily maintain a festive, party atmosphere with slightly quieter volumes so your guests can sleep. Until something changes, we will recommend to our friends and co-workers that they stay away from this hotel--whatever positive attributes it has, it's hard to enjoy or appreciate them when you can't get a good night's sleep.
