Stayed @ the Trump Plaxa ion our way from Florida to New York City on a East Coast Road trip. Found a great deal on the hotel's website, $99.00 for the night. Was in the middle of the week (Wednesday I believe) and therefore much cheaper then the weekends.
Hotel looked a littel outdated from the outside, but once you were inside it look beautiful, our room was on the 32nd floor overlooking the ocean. Everything insdie oour room was top notch and cleaned to perfection. Great views of the boardwalk.
Eat at the buffet on the bootom floor of the hotel (forget the name) it was one of the best meals we ate on our road trip and a fair price of roughly $15.00.
Pool was nice, locaated on the 8th floor and located indoors, good for all year round. Pool was aluminum add did get loud with the amount of kids that were in the pool area when we were there.
Beach was alright, they had chairs and cabanas on the beach for hotel guests. There were a ton of jellyfish on the beach though, watch out for those.
Trump Plaza is right in the middle of all the action and walking distance to most of the other casinos on the boardwalk.

Any questions, feel free to ask!!

This hotel was disgusting. Very poorly maintained, mold, water damage everywhere, dirty stained carpets, spotted bathtub, ocean view room with black oily substance all over the window on the outside, blanket with spots on it, lobby smelled of sewage, pool area old and dirty. When we got off the elevator on our floor the first thing image was doors of rooms with streak marks all over them. Every door on the floor in fact had these. Even the inside of the elevator doors were marked with graffiti. I felt dirty from the moment we got into our room until we left the next day. Never again. I don't think the Donald ever stayed in this one!

I stayed there for business for 3 days in early November. The room and furniture looked out-dated. I had an ocean-view room, but since I was on the 7th floor, I saw more of the mall and other buildings' roof top (dirty) more than the ocean. The neon sign outside was bright in the evening, couldn't even leave the curtain open.
I checked in at 5pm, and upon entering the room, one of the queen beds was without the bedspread. However, after I came back to the room around 10pm, the bedspread miraculously appeared. That only meant someone was in my room after I checked in.
The hotel prides itself as "environmental friendly". So call "water conservation" only resulted in "water-efficient" facet that gives out so little water, you can't even get soap off your hand without rinsing for 2 minutes. shower head is the same - couldn't get soap off my body with that minimum water triggering down.
One thing I hate most is the house-keeping re-using dirty towels. There were towels that I put in the sink and/or bathtub to be replaced ended up being put back on the rack. (I usually make markings if I suspect that they weren't changed - and sure enough, they weren't) It makes me think that they didn't change the towels if they "appeared" to be clean from the previous patron.
My husband joined me on the last day. We ate at the 24 Cafe for breakfast. The service was top-notch, and the food was good. I particularly like the rolls they served for dinner and asked the waiter for it at breakfast. Not only did he bring a basket for the table, he even packed quite a few for us to take home with. The Cafe 24 experience was the only positive thing about the hotel, even though it's not cheap.
I didn't go there for the casino, so couldn't comment on that. My room was paid for therefore I can't comment on the price. Though I would highly suspect that it worth the value of the organization I worked for paid.

I haven't been to AC in 10 years and this weekend trip just reinforced why.

Trump Plaza was nice enough upon check-in, the staff was pleasant and helpful and our room was ready although we arrived about 2 hours before check-in time.

That's the best of it.

The rooms in this hotel must have designed for people under 5' tall. What should have been two queen or two full (I forget which was promised) turned out to be two beds that appeared to be a twin and a quarter or maybe half. My husband and I could barely sleep together and we are not overly large. The bathroom was just as bad. The toilet was so low that after a few drinks, I had a hard time getting myself up. And the shower head was at my eyebrows, I had to literally bend down to wash my hair and I am only 5'5". I don't know how anyone taller could shower.

We had breakfast at Trump and I didn't eat a thing on my plate. The 24 Cafe or whatever it was called couldn't even cook a scrambled egg. The eggs were extremely undercooked, not just runny but almost yolky and the home fries were just plain roasted potatoes (no seasonings, no nothing).

I did go looking for snacks at night, specifically ice cream that my son wanted. No place in the hotel for take out except room service which is ridiculously overpriced and Ovu (also overpriced). I was able to get a sundae just over $7.00.

I won't even get into the boardwalk with the shops closing at 6:00 pm, the malll with stores that only the high rollers can shop in, the beggars at every turn shaking their cups in your face as the Trump Plaza really has no control over these things.

Thought the room was adequate sized, clean, with a view of the ocean. The buffet was closed (staff didn't know why??) which left choices of a cafe that is open 24 hrs. and gourmet restaurants on the 6th floor. At the cafe expect to pay about $10 for 2 eggs with coffee! The slots were VERY tight. Thought we'd try Atlantic City (we usually go twice a year to Vegas). We won't waste our time or money in Atlantic City again.

  • Liked — It's location on the boardwalk
