Although I visit AC on a regular basis I am probably not considered a "high roller" in terms of money spent gambling. I do play my share of blackjack, as well as live and video poker. I therefore made a concious decision to do most of my gambling in one casino to maximize my comps. After checking out most of the casinos in AC I chose Harrahs.

The rooms are spacious, clean and mostly offer a decent view. The comps are great (I rarely have to pay for a room) and they also have a cash back program that usually nets me 20 or 30 bucks on my next trip. I was able to attain platinum status relatively easy which affords special treatment such as free valet parking and shorter lines for check-ins, etc. Food is decent although not spectacular.

The one place that Harrah's excels is the attitude of their employees. From dealers, pit bosses to the lady that cleans your room you receive only a positive attitude. Everyone remembers to say please and thank you and acts as if they really are glad that you are there.

I can stay in fancier rooms at the Borgata or get a better steak at Caesars but for courtesy and attitude Harrah's can not be beat.

My daughter and I were visiting AC to see the Broadway show "Hairspray" and decided to stay at Harrah's since that was where the show venue was located. We also booked the two following days at Trump Marina. Check-In was flawless and we were upgraded to a suite in the Marina Tower. I am very fussy about cleanliness and found the room impeccably clean. Bed was comfortable (though not as wonderful as Starwood's Heavenly Beds) and the giant flat screen TV made renting a movie a must-do. The staff were professional and accomodating starting with Valet Parking, Check-In, Bellmen, Housekeeping etc. By midnight we decided to cancel our Trump reservation and remain at Harrah's. Room service was great from the woman who answered the phone to the man who delivered the meal-so cordial and upbeat! The only people less than accomodating were the waitstaff at The Corner Grille but I believe it may have been a language barrier rather than outright rudeness (the fellow was Eastern European as are many of the casino workers). The food was typical "diner" fare but appreciated as we were hungry and did not feel like venturing from the hotel after a busy day. The hotel should consider changing the way coffee is served at Club Cappuccino. There were at least thirty people waiting in line in the morning and we ended up leaving the hotel to get breakfast elsewhere. The next morning we ordered room service which was more expensive but a nice treat. I was disappointed that the hotel pool closed at eight o'clock. This time of year it is still light at eight and since the night is long in AC, this seems awfully early to stop swimming. As far as the actual casino-well I felt that the payouts on the slots were smaller and less frequent than what I experienced just a few weeks prior at The Tropicana. The craps tables were not as exciting as I 've seen elsewhere. The crowd is generally older but that didn't really matter to me. If you are a young adult looking to meet people, this is not the place to find them but is perfect for families, older adults and couples. It feels very safe and secure compared to the boardwalk properties. Overall, the hotel was very good and the staff excellent.

This was our first stay. We stayed at Caesars numerous times which is going downhill fast. Ballys in the Claridge Tower with no hot water to shower until you flushed the toilet thirty times and paying to swim.
We were pleased with it. Everyone was so nce and personable. They were the nicest staff. Only set back there is nothing else there. You can take the Jitney to AC which is ok. Or walk to Trump Marina which is a nice walk. I wasn't impressed with the Borgata at all. I would definately stay there again especially with the new renovations.

Harrah's now owns Ballys, Showboat and Ceasars so don't expect much in comps there either.

After 6 hours at the tables and hours at the slots we didn't receive much of a comp.
Started staying at Trump Marina and have received room comps.
In May we returned to Bally's for the day and even the pit boss said comps were tight under the new system.
We use to receive mailed comps for rooms and food but now even with the use of the Total Rewards card on each visit they have lost my comps at one time and stopped offering anything but a few slot dollars.

I played in Harrah's one day last month. They are definitely having problems. There are no big players there. All you see is the bus crowd playing the slots. Now I know why.
I bought in for $1,000 at Baccarat, making average bets of $25. I kept asking them for a comp (less than $10) to get a meal . After 2 hours of playing, they still would not give me a comp. The pit boss said I needed more playing time. I then spent one hour playing roulette, average bet of $60 per spin. After playing for another hour, I was still turned down for the food comp by a female pit boss at the roulette area. I found this unbelevable since the casino was mostly empty. At this point, I give the roulette dealer a piece of my mind. But I did tell her that I am not really blaming her. Harrah's is so busy trying to save a few bucks that they are losing the big players. She actually agreed with me saying that Harrah's is having problems. I had over $5,000 on me which I was going to play with. It felt like an insult to get turned down for such a small comp.

The Borgota, Tropicana, Ballys, and Hilton all give me the royal treatment with free rooms, meals, shows, and player club priviledges.

The bottom line: Don't waste your time going to Harrah's.
