So, my boyfriend and I took a week of vacation and decided to spend it in Atlantic City / Philly. We visit Biloxi, MS several times a year and Harrah's offered us comp rooms in ACY, a major plus for us and we were thrilled. Since neither of us had been there before we couldn't decide where to stay, so we did the unthinkable and booked 3 separate hotels in one week just to experience the difference.
NOTE: ALL Harrah's hotels in Atlantic City charge $13 a night for hotel taxes, even if your room is comp. This was not a huge deal. BUT, it was never communicated to us at any of the hotels when we checked in nor could I find it in the fine print of the reservations.
This review is specifically for Harrah's:
We arrived on a Monday night around 7-8 and I couldn't believe that the check-in line was so long at that hour. Lucky for us, they had a designated Platinum line along with Diamond & Seven Stars so we were able to expedite the process. The lady that checked us in was over the top friendly and actually made us feel welcome.
Our room was a nonsmoking room in the Waterfront Tower (#26087). It had a fantastic view. Other than a small hole (looked like a cigarette burn) on a chair, I loved the room. The hole confused me because the room smelled squeaky clean, no hint of smoke. Not sure what had happened. The room was especially awesome because we could see the LED lights, that at night, are shown on the outside of the tower announcing promotions, events, etc. In this particular room. the very bottom strand of lights were above our window and we could see a hint of color and watch them change. It added a special effect that we loved.
We ate a GREAT burger at Bill's Burgers, but wasn't too hip on the Disco fries (gravy). Our waiter was the best we had and never let our drinks go more than half before refilling, Pretty awesome.
We loved the casino, shops, pool & everything. Can't go wrong with ordering drinks from your machine. We saw a lot of people having fun and actually winning. The only problem I had, which is more my own internal GPS failure, is how lost I kept getting in this place. It's HUGE, and all machines start to look alike. I was lucky to find my way back to the room after a night of beverages and gaming. All the staff I talked with were incredibly friendly, which I didn't expect to find in Atlantic City and in a casino of this size. Loved it, especially being from the south.
