It was unbelievable that this hotel would raise prices like so many other AC hotels. I understand Fri and Sat are busy nights in AC, but for no view, bums hanging around, and a vacant lot looking you in the face they should not. Also, the carpets need replacing and where was our frig and microwave...had to ask and wait. Two towels per room and a pissy matress. Had to make a room change that was met with resistance.

we have stayed at a few places in atlantic city : ballys, holiday inn, ect.
this time we tryed to save a little money and being july 4th weekend we went for the super 8 (we stayed in one in florida it was comfortable)
so i went for it ,the prices at the others for a place to sleep was crazy.this being 3 weeks ahead and not alot of time.
i had read the other reviews and wasnt sure to try it, but went for it with a total of $500.00 from sat noon thru tues morning.
we arrived and yes the street its on was run down but close to the board walk 2 - 3 minute walk, there is a bar across the street ( no noise or problems)one 2 doors down, the pick inni( a hole in the wall ,no problems) and irish pub across the way( wish we went but no time ,heard from others on boardwalk it was nice)
we got in early ( 1-2 pm) check in was 4 pm no problem, but when we said we have reservation they looked at each other like what?? but after a few minutes they figured it out i guess (they talk english but broken)
i had a reserve number they didnt ask for.
they, i think anyway changed our room because the man had a card then gave it to the women and then she went to the machine and gave us other cards which was to the back of the hotel. they asked how many nights i said 3 , which they should have know but that as ok(in back of hotel, nice houses across the street made up for july 4th. quiet)room 220. he asked how we were going to pay we said well we gave you a credit card on the phone he asked to have the card to run it, we did.at this time i started to think it was a mistake to stay here ,but he gave us 2 cards for the room and off we went. we got the suitcases and the parking is tight, yes u have to enter through the lobby, if thats what u call it.
the smell is cheap cleaning fluid with a scent ,they do make better ones but i guess it keeps the price down. the elevator needs help, painted gray over the old name and jumps abit but runs.
we went through a walkway and to the other (back)side which had a cleaning cart in the way so it was hard to get past it with the suitcases ,the girl just smiled...
the room had a small refrig, ac , bed ,bathroom, tv ,sitting table, draws for clothes, it was ok for a place to sleep for the weekend, nothing more.
i have to say the first time i flushed the toilet, i almost hit the ceiling, the noise and force scared me. i made a joke which is true, if i were sitting on it at the time i`d be sucks in. good pressure i guess. shower was ok too. they dont give alot of motel trinkets so bring shower & toileties. they gave maybe a soap and 2 sample shampoos ,towels thats it.
when they clean the room they shut off the ac so it can get warm, they ask for u to be energy conscience on the bathroom mirror....but it cooled the room ok in a few minutes
i dont think they changed the sheets either. thats sat thru tues.
oh the housekeepers leave a envelope for a tip with the name
housekepr (?)on it, i did leave a little something and did have the ac on low when i got back ;) just don ask them any questions , they dont know..
we were out the first day then got a call late the next day asking our car make and where we are from. i told them asked if everything ok they said yes, then went down to ask why. they said we were checking on the cars
i said we have the card in the front dash so why the call if thats what we were to do , no real answer i checked the car.. no problem. card in dash , it didnt say ny but cadillac was on it and it was a cadillac hellooooo....with ny plates.
when you walk by the front desk ,no hello, good morning , nothing. the last day i said morning on the way out for early breakfast before leaving by 11am and i did get a hi.
by the way bread sticks for breakfast is huge and cheap, everything comes with it , potato, toast . very nice waitresses every morning i think its at the resorts just past beachball.go to the boardwalk turn left walk maybe 4-5 minutes very nice...
they did have a pool kids in it at 9am, very blue looking water ???
anyway it was ok to stay there with some small problems : close , cheap, but for a place to sleep for a weekend it fit the bill...

My girlfriend and I came from PA with her sister and husband for a night of gambling. Upon arrival we noticed the area was a little scary but hey we only here for one night. When we went to check in we were notified that they didn't have rooms for us because my credit card came back canceled so the sold the rooms. I then remembered that a little over a week before I was a victim of identity fraud and forgotten that I reserved the rooms with this card. To make matters worse I had reserved her sisters room also. I explained to the clerk and the manager what had happened but they did not seem to care whatsoever and said they didn't have anything for us. I asked why they didn't at least call us and let us know that the card failed since he knew we'd be coming. He told me that he didn't have to do that which might be true but good business practices and common curteouscy would have warranted this. After much persistence he finally came up with two rooms with what appeared to be double beds. Although we originally were supposed to have Kings I just wanted a room so we could go to the casino's. When it came to price we were originally supposed to get the kings for $130.00 a night. He wanted $169.00 for these doubles, we thought we should get the rooms for the $130.00 but no amount of discussion would change his mind. So after 20 minutes or so of haggling I finally just gave in took the rooms. The rooms certainly weren't the best but at this point we just wanted a place to stay. I have never met more unprofessional management and one's not willing to work with you. They couldn't of cared less about our plight. Although I guess they weren't obligated to help us out one would have thought they could have been a little more helpful considering the situation.

This hotel kind of grew on me the more we were there.

First of all six of us decided to go down to Atlantic City for the weekend. We got two rooms for Fri and Sat night. Once we arrived, we were walking in and the man at the front desk started interrogating us about how many people were actually staying in the rooms. We told the man two people were in each room, but we actually had four in one and two in the other. That started the weekend off on the wrong foot, so I figured it would get better. We make our way to the rooms, one is heated and the heater in the other room wouldn't turn on and it was cold. We call down to the front desk to complain that our heater doesn’t work, and the guy at the front desk replies "oh...try it now." I wasn't sure if this was some type of retaliatory tactic they would use against us for lying to them about the number of people in the room. Oh well, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.

We went out Friday night to the Erin Bar which is across the street and then made our way to the Irish Pub and finally ended the nights playing craps at the Resort Hotel & Casino. No more incidents at the Super 8.

That is until we woke up. The bed spread on the beds in one room didn’t even fit the mattress, so my feet were literally resting on the mattress...but we had the heat cranked up so I was happy.

Saturday night we took a $10 cab ride over to the Borgata and took in the comedy of Dane Cook and then patronized the Gypsy Bar inside the Borgata. After my friend got kicked out of the bar for telling the bouncer he was going to "sell him on eBay", we took a cab over to the Taj Mahal where I personally lost the rest of my money playing Mr. Trumps craps tables. After we made our way back from the bar to the hotel, we proceeded to have a food fight which consisted of Doritos, pretzels, Clementine oranges, Arizona Iced Tea and red bull energy drinks. After making a mess and throwing food down the hallway and in the rooms at each other we didn't get kicked out.

I was very pleased that they were tolerant of us and I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone who is on a budget and is looking to go down to the boardwalk in AC for a weekend (anything longer...I would probably get a better hotel) of drunken debauchery. It’s not the cleanest, nicest place down there…but for a place to crash it gets the job done.

Recently a group of us headed down to Atlantic City for an all weekend drunkfest. When we first arrived to the Super 8, we noticed a bar right across the street. I could practically throw an orange there from my room.
The rooms were good, nothing spectacular, and nothing horrible. The location was great, an easy and safe walk to and from the casinos and boardwalk...except for all those fences...
We were loud and had a lot of fun, and never got in trouble or asked to pipe down.
All in All, if you are looking to have a great drunk time and have loud drunk friends, like I do, this is the hotel for you.
