“Nice trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Went on a mini trip to AC. Booked three rooms and had a terrific time. We had a few issues in the beginning, but Donna at the front desk took care of everything immediately. Room was nice, maids were outstanding with our needs. Rooms could use a bit more clean up and hall rugs really in need of replacing. Made the place look very dirty. But the room was basic for our needs. After check out one of our members had to go to the hospital and when they returned the Showboat staff made sure she was taken care of until she was able to leave. (Meant so much that they cared) Big thank you for that!!!! Would stay again but might try somewhere other than the Orleans tower.....

My eighty year old aunt saved up her gambling points to take our family to Atlantic City for the weekend. I had very low expectations for the hotel, and it was worse than I could have imagined. Gang tagging on the carpet of the 14th floor, blood stains on our bedding, drawing on the walls... You would be challenged to find a square foot of carpet in your room without gum or stain on it. Horrific smells... Anything that is not broken is about to break. It's disgusting and I can't imagine what kind of people stay here and find it acceptable.

Took a family trip to Showbaot A.C. It has been about 12 years since my wife and I have gone there to to my wife becoming para-pellagic.
The room (556) for a handicap person was exceptionally dirty especially in the bath room. Since we were staying for a short time I did not complain (my mistake) to the hotel but without my knowledge my wife cleaned the bathroom to her satisfaction.
They provided no SOAP or shower bench for a handicapped person. We called and received needed essentials and when I sent an e-mail about problem I received a 'canned' response from their customer service saying next to NOTHING.
We send to Scarducci's restaurant, food was excellent but it took ONE hour and TEN minutes to have our main course served, with the excuse that had a large party to handle, but the restaurant was HALF empty?
Again - Very disappointed with overall stay and will ensure friends and family know not to expect much of anything but problems at hotel etc.

Green Features: Not worth mentioning - room temperature was set at 60 degrees very cold and bathroom was horrendous

The room was dirty. Piles of dust in the corners, crumbs on the floor, old room key, hair on the pillow case and bed, hair in the bathroom, I think they just made the beds. The chair was disgusting, wouldn't sit on it if you paid me, the other chair had ripped fabric and just hung off of it. And we paid full price $300, this isn't what a $300 an night hotel should look like. We tried to get another room and they said they were full so they sent up the maid to clean so we were inconvenienced for an hour when we wanted to rest before an evening out. They gave us a $30 credit, big whoop, that didn't even cover the tax. We won't go back.

We stayed for 2 nights and the location has a lot to offer. you are within walking distance to the boardwalk and the beach. Just make sure your room is not on the other side of the hotel, because u will have some walking to do to get to the boardwalk. The boardwalk has these ricshaws if u cant walk. i think its overpriced for most people who have the ability to walk, one to five blocks was five bucks. this is in comparison to a jitney you can take to get to other locations in AC. We took a jitney shuttle bus from our hotel, about a block from the hotel, and it took us all over to other hotels to gamble or check out the local bars. That was only $2.25 per person each way. the one area of disorganization is the way the hotels, Show Boat included, does not allow, is to take any of the carts for lugguage up to your room. You have to let baggage claim know when u are departing and it took us over an hour to even see our items on a cart by the main entrance. Of course u should tip the guy putting in your luggage and the driver bringing your car around. So that 's their way of making a little extra for their workers. The staff is very understanding though and know its takes time. However I think that could be rectified by using walkie talkies with one another. I think there may be a lack of communication between the two.
Otherwise a fairly decent stay in the hotel itself. Expect to buy yourself a cup of coffee or tea in the am, the coffee machines are a one person gadet and they could use a regular coffee maker in the room for the price you are paying.
Melissa

Room Tip: A room close to the boardwalk/beach access

Room was basic, nothing screams lux to me. Bedsheets had stains. Bathroom was old and dated. Shower had someone else's hair in it. Had a great view of the Atlantic and beach. Room service food was excellent. Hotel pool was small and crowded.

They have to update the rooms and this place would be awesome. The service was excellent and courteous.

We just spent 3 days and 2 nights at the Showboat hotel in AC, NJ. The room in the recently renovated Bourbon tower section of the hotel was quite nice and very clean. I had very little expectation, so was pleasantly surprised as I had not been here in many years. Even the Blues restaurant was a good place to eat there.

Room Tip: We were in room 1517 in the Bourbon tower section and had a great view!
