I stayed at Caesar's from July 20-24. I have been to AC many times before and usually stayed at the Showboat. But I wanted to try something different this time and stay in a different location. I must say, Caesar's location is fabulous! This casino hotel is an easy walking distance to every casino and shop on the boardwalk. Plus, Caesar's has its very own shops, The Piers. Also, the Outlet Shops are located a few blocks behind it.
Regarding the hotel, I arrived on a Sunday around noon. There were not many people on line, so I decided to check-in and let them know I had arrived. The check-in person was very nice and informed us that the room was not ready and we should return in three hours for our keys. I also requested a room in the Centurion Tower, because in previous reviews I had read, it seemed this was the best tower. Off I went to the Boardwalk to check out the weather and then back in the casino to play. About 2.5 hours later, I got a little tired and I wanted to see if my room was available. I went to the check-in where now there was a pretty nice line. I waited, spoke with check-in where there was a really really nice check-in lady who told me that yes, my room was indeed ready. I told her that I had requested the Centurion Tower and she said that is where my room was located. I picked up my bags, and after a while of searching (I saw the elevators for every tower except Centurion...BTW, they are located next to the ballrooms and Salon) so I got into the elevators and headed up. I was on the 40th floor, right off the elevator. The Centurion Tower is 44 floors. The room was beautiful! Very modern decor, very clean, beautiful bathroom with an amazing shower. There was no bathtub, for me that was perfectly ok, but for someone with kids it may not be. The one thing I didn't love about the bathroom was that the door is not one that swings open and closed like a regular door. Instead, there was a frosted glass sliding door. And it doesn't completely close, the front and back have slits that are open. So if your going with a friend, and you walk by the bathroom, you can see in through the sides. And if I was trying to watch TV and someone was taking a shower or even brushing their teeth, I would have to turn the volume up to cover the noise from the water that the door doesn't keep out. On the other hand, if you are in the bathroom, there is a really awesome TV in the mirror that you can watch while you're in there. The view from the room was also awesome, and even though it was facing the back of the hotel looking towards the Outlet shops, I could see the Marina and still had somewhat of a water view. Also, the room had a home theater style DVD player that also plays CD's. I did use it one night. The volume on that thing is crazy and hard to control. You could hardly hear the actors speaking but as soon as any shots rang out or there was some sort of boom (I was watching an action movie) it got really loud, which I'm sure my neighbor's didn't care for. (SORRY!)
The elevators from the Centurion Tower have an exit on the 1st floor that take you right by the boardwalk, so if you go to the beach and are wet and sticky from the sand, you don't have to walk through the casino, just step in the elevator and head straight up to your room.
The only negative I had about Caesar's was the Buffet at La Piazza, and apparently everyone except me must have known about this because there was never a line (unlike Showboat's buffet where you can wait in line for 3 hours before being seated!) So we saw there was no line and went in. I must say, it is more expensive than other Buffet's I have been to (Showboat, Taj, Resorts, etc.) And the assortment of food is very small. On the weekends, the buffet is $28. On a weekday it is $19 for lunch and $23 for dinner.
All in all, I loved Caesar's and would definitely stay again. Great location, great casino and great room!
