My fiancée and I recently stayed for one-night at The Borgata. We were very, very impressed with the hotel, but not with the gambling options. This is by far the nicest hotel in Atlantic City. Our hotel room was immaculate and we had a great view of the City from the 26th floor. Everything was new and in excellent condition. The bathroom was very spacious and actually had two doors so someone could use the sink and shower while another person could use the toilet at the same time. There were a number of over-sized towels available as well. The king-sized bed was very comfortable. We checked in at a peak time (around 2:30 pm) and only had about a 10-minute wait. Everyone we dealt with at the hotel was very courteous. I had a few questions days before I arrived at the hotel. A manager by the name of Michael Facenda gave me very useful information about the hotel and transportation arrangements. We also went swimming and soaked in the hot tubs at the pool atrium, which was beautifully decorated in a tropical setting. It only took a few minutes to sign up for a Rewards card. The Borgata does have its imperfections though. Although the casino is huge, while we were there, including a slow Monday morning, there were only one or two 5-dollar Blackjack tables available. Only a few more were 10-dollar tables. When we went to play Blackjack on a Sunday evening, only one 5-dollar table and just two 15-dollar tables were available. Crowds were huddled around those tables waiting for a spot to play. Every other Blackjack table in the casino was a 25, 50, or 100-dollar minimum. That’s ridiculous and a turn-off to responsible, recreational, “low-rollers” like myself who want to play for a fun and a small amount of money. I loved the Borgata and will definitely return. However, unless there are lower minimum Blackjack tables available, next time I might have to take a $1.50 jitney to another casino that caters to recreational, low-rollers even though I did win $145.00 on my first visit to The Borgata.
