My husband and I stayed here on last minute whim to visit Atlantic City for the first time. My first impression of the hotel was how big and spread out the property was. It was a fairly good walk to get to the lobby, to the casino, to the pool and so on. But, the decor was just absolutely amazing. I loved all the detail, modern touches and just very beautiful pieces they had everywhere. There were also so many cool "lounge" areas to just sit and relax.
Room - was very modern but comfy and spacious. The TV was big and flat screen but be aware you cannot hook anything into it. (we usually bring our laptop and plug an HDMI cable into the TV to watch things off iTunes) The bathroom had an enormous shower and the bed was very comfortable. Mini bar was confusing and we didn't touch it (that stuff is expensive anyways). Cool thing is everything is done through this cool phone/TV system. The rom service menu is on the TV! Room service food was very good and very fast. They have this special dipping sauce for the fries that I totally loved. The window was super cool - floor to ceiling and took up the whole wall.
Casino - it is the only smoke free casino in Atlantic City and I loved that! It was very modern and again loved the decor there too. It was smaller than I thought but maybe because the property is so big I was just expecting more of a casino. It has all the games you could want, tons of slots, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette....Poker room - super nice BUT dead. My husband and I like to play tournaments and occasional cash games in the poker room but when we wanted to register for a tournament the woman in charge there told us not to bother that they never get enough people. Plus, there was no one playing cash games at all -- this was a Saturday!!
Food - Very impressive - each restaurant has a fresh new feel to it and the food was very good. We only managed to eat at one place but I can't wait to go back and try others.
Location - awesome. Right on the boardwalk and next to Trumps Taj Mahal which we checked out.
By the way, free internet - yes! It is so annoying when nice hotels charge you for wifi. Finally a hotel that doesn't. All parking is free - there are signs saying that you need to pay to park but that is not true - it is free I assure you!
But, I strongly feel it is overpriced. If they want to be competitive they need to lower the price $20-30 a night.
