We just got back from our Atlantic City trip which included a dinner at Izakaya. I liked how it was a "tapas" style Japanese restaurant. When entering the restaurant I had no idea how large it was. We were sat in the back behind the chefs and unfortunately for us there was an ornary couple seated next to us and three extremely large tables of about 20 behind us.
While the food was very good- delcious rolls and entrees, the ambiance was terrible. I wish we asked to be moved. One of the tables of 20 was all women and of course the next table of 20 sat directly beside them was all men. They got themselves all riled up and were taking shots and being really loud and obnoxious- plus we had to deal with the crabby couple next to us that was being rude to their waitress.
I would say I probably would have given this place a better rating if we were seated out towards the front, but the fact that they were just trying to fill tables and pushed us back there wouldn't make me apt to go again unless I asked for a table in the front.
