I read all these reviews and it kind of freaked me out a bit.. But i had a great experience !!! The elevators are not slow either!!! Our room had a great view of the ocean and skyline of atlantic city , and the balconys were huge!!! The bar in the hotel also has a great view of the ocean that gives you an illusion that your on a cruise ship. It's at the end of the boardwalk but not too far from the casinos . The sun deck was pretty cool the hot tubs had a cool breeze of water over top so it was relaxing but not too hot. The rooms were pretty big too , i liked that they had a full coffee pot too not just one of those 6 cup makers. The only thing i didn't really like was that there was no outdoor pool.
I would definatley recommend this hotel .

The elevators are slow, which is particularly painful on checkout days..
But, we have been there about 5 times and are going again this week. We love the location....we have two kids 11 and 9 (now) and enjoy the small beaches on the north end of the island, the maritime museum and aquirium, the lighthouse, the two resturants on the backside of the island where the tour boats dock, the passing fishing boats, the playground nearby and the board walk. The pool and sauna are adequate. Parking is secure and we have never had any problems. These is a medical clinic in the area. Food and shoping are not the best (the grocery store closed a few years ago). We come up from MD via 95-40 and return via Cape May and the ferry. On rt 40 there is a amusement park for younger kids (it may bore my oldest this year). The staff has always been adequate and the guest have been well mannered. My only fear is falling off the balconey...with younger kids, I suggest you get the balcony door bolted. We even walk to teh center of tiwma dn have eaten all up and down the island. PS, they tell me that you can gamble in some of the buildings...I would not know.

This (timeshare) hotel is not in the casino area but a very pleasant 15 minute walk. They offer a free mini van shuttle - on weekends it leaves every hour - weekdays every 2 hours - if the van is full (18 people) you wait for the next or find your own transportation. Walking was the best way around for us.

There is an inside parking garage for $7.49/per day. There is free street parking but sometimes hard to find. If works out easier if you are able to find outside parking as with 32 floors - parking is only on the first 6 - so you enter the hotel on the 6th floor and then wait for the elevator to continue onto your floor. We were on the 26th floor and after awhile this becomes a nuisance with only one (very slow) elevator working.

We had a decent size room (Studio), clean and an AMAZING view that overlooked the boardwalk (fishing) pier, the entire casino line, lighthouse and the makings of the Revel Hotel.

Our non smoking room had two queen beds, a one wall kitchen with two stove burners, a small refrigerator /NO freezer, a 4 chair table set, a big closet and balcony doors- NO room windows. They do NOT have room safes and only clean once during your stay. Our room seemed clean when we entered and clean after our scheduled day but there was a cheese doodle that reminded in the same spot our whole trip - I bet it’s still there now! They have a laundry shoot closet on the floor but no place to empty your trash. We did get free WiFi in our room.

I have to address the beds - this has to be the most uncomfortable bed ever . We pulled all the linings off the unused bad and used them to cushion the bed we slept it and even then it still wasn’t great.

You are asked to wash your dishes and tie up your trash before checking out. Not a big deal.

We used the indoor pool (nice size), indoor Jacuzzi and outdoor Jacuzzi all without problems - the outside Jacuzzi area is very breezy. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant but overhead others saying it was great.

We met a couple in the elevator that commented that the rooms now were nicer but later found out our floor had not been updated yet - so there are better things to come - sure hope that includes better beds!

Although I mentioned the negatives - for our lifestyle this hotel fit our needs. We prefer a hotel not at the action point so we can sometimes - just get away from it all and this hotel location was perfect.

Pros:
Large rooms, in-room kitchen area, great city & ocean views, beautiful view from the gym, located on the boardwalk and about a mile from the center of downtown.

Cons:
Slow elevators, game room is taken over by unsupervised children, pool water seems a little murky, rooms in need of some updating, (very) unappealing surrounding neighborhood.

Overall, though I took some great pictures, we wouldn't go back. This hotel, this city...maybe besides for Harrah's...is not for us.

hotel is severely outdated; heating/cooling system from the 50's, thrift shop furnishings, rock hard bed. The only good parts seemed to be the sales center, pushing those timeshares. I traded my unit in Myrlte Beach to come here, and I felt like I had gone from a Sheraton to a High-rise Motel 6. The concierge was not knowledgeable or helpful, he could not give me any info on a show at the Trop, which they had advertised in a flyer in the lobby. I found it myself by going to the Trop's webstie. The hotel is removed from everything else, not within walking distance of anything. rooms have partial kitchens, but good luck finding a grocery store. Went to 3 different places trying to find cheese. just regular cheese. Don't bother with the free shuttle, just pony up the $2.25 for the Jitney. Much less hassle. AC is not as family-friendly as i had hoped; it was difficult to entertain the kids. we tried the pool, but it was cloudy and dirty. Arcade was better than some, but overrun with unsupervised kids. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say we left 3 days earlier than planned. While the trip was not a total bust, I don't like to take a make-the-best-of-it attitude when spending vacation dollars.
