We needed a place to stay for a quick one-night trip to Atlantic City and I had about a day’s notice! All the casino hotels were either booked or exorbitantly priced. I found the Flagship on a search engine and thought the $99 price tag for a Friday night was a great price. But I was also prepared to be underwhelmed. We were pleasantly surprised.
The hotel is looked in an area that is being re-developed, about six (long) blocks away from the Showboat Casino. Parking is easy (and free). We arrived in AC at just after 4:00 p.m. and it took less than 5 minutes to check in. Our room was on the 10th floor with a specatcular view of the ocean….really breathtaking. The room was clean and neatly appointed. We received a phone call asking if we would like to take a VIP tour the next morning and our check-out time would be moved to 2:00 pm. It sounded to me like a timeshare deal (which we already have and are very happy with), so I turned down the offer. We were going to a concert at the Borgata, so we pretty much checked in and headed over there for dinner.
The next morning we loaded up the car and headed back into the Flagship for a late breakfast at the Ozone Café. It is a buffet, but there is also an omelet station and a station for Belgian waffles. Everything tasted great and we had a table overlooking the inlet….very nice atmosphere!
We are planning to return. It is a very nice alternative to the casino hotels.
