I own a timeshare at the Flagship and since I live in NYC, I am only 2-1/2 hours away from Atlantic City. This is the main reason I bought at the Flagship so that I can have the convenience of visiting the resort for quick weekend getaways and overnight stays when I need to escape from the high pressure life in NYC and do not want to spend a fortune or airfare to get away. I find this the biggest appeal of the Flagship, along with the fact that it is a nice place for a visit.
I stay there mostly overnight or two nights with friends, and everyone enjoys themselves. The studio is very large with 2 full sized beds and a kitchenette, dining table, very nice bathrooms and TV. Timeshare owners always have access to the dishes and pots and pans. The best feature about the Flagship is the views which are breathtaking. The game room, Ozone, swimming pool and jacuzzi’s all add an extra touch for a quick getaway. I think the exercise room is awesome with the views and multiple TV screens, and it is totally spotless with new-like equipment. I enjoy the breakfast buffet on Sundays there.
I like to play the slots so being near the casinos is great, and the boardwalk is fun too. The area around the Flagship is not a slum as new single family housing is popping up all over the area. In fact, Atlantic City has greatly improved its impoverish state from prior years and it does not look run down like others have said. It is not high class, but it is not a slum or dirty either.
I never drive to AC as the charter buses from NYC are most convenient for me as a roundtrip ticket is about $25.00 with a refund of $15-$17 from the casino, making the trip $10, therefore I cannot comment on the parking at the Flagship. I have never found the Flagship to be dirty in any respect and I have been an owner for 2 years now. The hotel shuttle every hour is fine to me, and I also use the jitneys with no problems to get around. I do not feel like my life is in danger in AC or at the Flagship, and anyone who does is just paranoid or not used to highly populated places or maybe scared of minorities or are just ridiculous people. This does not reflect on the Flagship and I always feel safe there. I do not stay for extended periods of time at the Flagship as I always exchange my vacation for something out of the country, but that is just my preference because the Flagship is available to me anytime and thus I do not want to vacation there for my week.
I would recommend the Flagship to anyone, but they should keep in mind their true desires for vacationing there. I mostly recommend it for short stays as that is what I use it for. For longer stays people should investigate the area first and decide if they want to stay longer. Don’t blame the Flagship for your failure to do your homework regarding your vacation.
