I am pretty surprised by the negative reviews on here; I've read all reviews before I actually booked my room and I was actually a little bit worried. I booked my stay on hotels.com; it was $20 cheaper than Hotels official website. I researched other hotels as well; but most of them had worse reviews than Flagship and were double the price. I paid about $100 a night for a Queen size bedroom. (Which IS really cheap) I had called up to confirm my reservation a day before and requested a room around the 10-20 floor; ocean/city view?

Arrival: My boyfriend and I arrived in Atlantic City and we were unable to hail a cab; so we took a Jitney/Van which cost me $2 - I think it was the two line.. or one. The stop to the hotel was around the block; which was obviously not far at all. You can also take the flagship shuttle from Ballys. We checked in at four; no line and there was no problem. The people at check in were actually really nice; the individual who checked me in was in training at the time (Willy... I think) and told me and my boyfriend that if we ever need any information about the area to not hesitate and call him at the front desk. Willy explained which elevators are express, gave us information booklets (which are detail and useful) and shuttle information. We were given two keys to our room, a room which we requested, on the 15th floor ocean/city view (view of the casinos).

Stay in the room: We arrived in our room; it had a beautiful view and to our surprise it was BIG. There is a kitchen/cooking area; supplied with dishes, pots, pans, cups, new sponge, dish soap, small fridge, microwave, oven and I can't remember what else. Then there is a television/dvd player in the living room, along with a fold-out sofa and a love seat. The bathroom is very clean supplied with many towels. The bedroom has a telivision/dvd combo, the bed is comfortable and placed in front of the balcony.

All of the appliances, bedding, materials were new in our room; nothing appeared to be worn. Everything was also very clean and I was unable to spot any mold. There were many closets; their doors were mirrors -- which I thought added a nice look to the room. In the closet near the bedroom -- there were two extra pillows and blankets. Our room also had many windows -- some were difficult to open.

There is free wireless Internet; there is no password. Or any access code as someone here mentioned. If you have a wireless card you will be able to easily connect. Many activities are also provided every day in the hotel; check out the information booklet. I did not participate in any of the activities; but they varied and appeared to be fun.

I never took the shuttle bus; I always took the Jitney. Although the hotel bus is accessible for those who have a handicap. The arcade is small; but they have a couple of fun machines, the gym is pretty nice -- towels and water are provided. The pool area is nice; decent size and the outdoor Jacuzzi was really nice. The food was good at the hotel; the total of our bill was $40 -- which is a little expensive. We had actually gone to diner at the Borgada the following nights; the food over there ... was wow. By the way we took a Jitney there.

The area is a bit shady at night; overall the area is what any realistic person would know as a residential area near a couple of casinos.

Woooh I wrote much....

My husband decided to treat me to a wonderful hotel with a view for our 24th wedding anniversary. And Flagship upon arrival fulfilled my husband’s plans. The hotel was nice to look at on the surface and then we entered the room the furniture was old the counters were chipped the black window treatments along with the black bed spread made the room more dismal then delightful. But this was my Husband's treat so I still wanted to make the best of it. Until I sat down on the leather couch which had nearly NO cushion left too it, "most people will throw a couch like this out" it was beyond saving. The mattress on the bed was so hard that it was like lying on a concrete slab. It was so hard that I spent the rest of my Anniversary suffering from sever back pain! Not Cool! And to add insult to injury, although we often saw house keeping in the hall we had yet to have our room cleaned! If I wanted to make my own bed and run the sweeper I would have stayed Home and after my experience I think I will!!!

Well, we arrived in AC around noon and thought we would give it a shot at checking in. But, like other reviewers we had to wait until check in time to get into our room. We thought since it was a Sunday afternoon after Labor day that there wouldn't be a problem.

We get our key and go to the elevators, expecting to havea long wait for them, but to our surprise the elevattors were pretty speedy. Maybe it was because it was not during peak season.

The room was not very good, it smelled of smoke mixed with freezer burn from the mini fridge in the room. We were excited to open the blinds and look out at our view, but when we did we realized we did not have a private balcony. Instead, we had a large concrete shared balcony with the whole eigth floor. The view from there was nice though. The balcony was so dirty that I didn't want my kids out there. Not only was there cigarette butts, but broken glass everywhere. The flower beds were filled with weeds. The balcony could have been a beautiful place with some work on the flower bed and some lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas.

Back to the room, the decore was a bit old and the AC did not work well. I agree with other reviews that the black and white bedspread and curtains should be changed to something a little more fitting to the area, such as beach themed. The kitchen area in the room was nice and would come in handy if you planned on staying for more than a night or two.

The "board walk" is right across the road, but it is not the main board walk where the casinos are. This is mainly a locals place to fish. The boards on the board walk are almost falling through. The beach is down the board walk around a bend. It is a nice walk, just very dirty!

This is in a divided area, one side of the hotel there are some charming little beachy homes with neat little yards, then on the other is a large green building that is all run down and looks like the projects of big city. It is an easy drive to the casinos.

The pool was awful, my kids didn't even want to get in which is bad.

The kids had a good time in the arcade.

The restaurant has good food.

I don't see myself staying here again.

Pros:
1.) Breathtaking views from balcony
2.) Nice staff at the Front Desk
3.) DVD player
4.) Nice soaps

Cons:
1.) Not a safe area
2.) Not close to anything
3.) Filthy parking garage, elevators, halls
4.) Dismal decor (black bedspreads, drapes, couch.. Come on....this is a beach resort. Should be up-beat)
5.) Outdated furnishings in room
6.) Flithy A/C vent blowing god knows what into room
7.) Mildew on bathroom ceiling
8.) Really uncomfortable beds
9.) No screen on balcony door
10.)Filthy balcony floor
11.) Really bad lighting in the room.

Major Concerns:
1.) Would you use pots, dishes, forks, glasses, etc., that were cleaned by the previous guest? That's really disgusting. Do you think that housekeeping puts these items in a dishwasher between guests? I don't think so!!!! Especially since there is a warning stating that you must wash the dishes or you get a $50 charge on your credit card.

2.) How many menus does one need? At any given time, there are very strange looking people walking the halls slipping menus under the doors. Everytime I would pick one up, another one would be slipped under neath the door. In about 2 hours, I had 5 menus from the same pizza joint.

3.) The elevators are extremely slow. What happens in an emergency situation?

I love the flagship. Every time I go I have a great experience there. The views are incredible. The pool is awesome and huge, and the whirlpool is even better. I always ask for a high floor and the staff accomodates me every time. I've never stayed below the 28th floor and I'm never disappointed with the view or my stay. In addition, the balconies are fabulous! Every room has one, so you can't go wrong! You can hear the ocean from your room and smell the sea air. In addition, the prices are very reasonable. It's by far my favorite hotel in Atlantic city!
