I live within a half-hour's drive of AC, and this is my favorite place of all of them. While many rave about Borgata, I find it cold, and the buffet so-so at best. Trump Marina might need a bit of a facelift, but I find it comfortable and clean. Reading about some of the room complaints truly surprised me.

I was checking in on a comped room, and was pleasantly surprised when offered a free upgrade to a suite. Needless to say, I grabbed it. I've seen the high-roller suites at Resorts and at the Trop before the addition of the Quarter ( and, like in this instance, by luck, not by being a high roller myself), and I will say that I found the Marina's suite superior.

It was excellent. It was stereotypical Trump-Goldplate or goldtone fixtures, heavy on the gold colors, etc. It was nicely appointed and had a jacuzzi in the living room. I couldn't help but chuckle as I walked through it, knowing what people have paid to stay in accomodations like this, yet the Gods (or the clerks) smiled on me and made it mine for a night.

While a chaise lounge in the suite was a bit threadbare, it was extremely comfortable. Room service was a bit slow due to events going on and a packed house, but when it did get there, everything was great. Two bathrooms, one with a glass stalled shower, the other with a tub and shower, were extremely convenient. The television operated at the foot of the bed with a button that retracted the TV into the furniture.

The buffet is better than Resorts' buffet, not as good as Taj but still very good, and I've become a cold shrimp snob. I just don't like it unless it's the way the Trump properties make them. The Upstairs Cafe is also very convenient, and good.

The pool is nice, and the health club facility, while not huge, has everything you might want if you need a break from the gaming. While I can't say I'd spend out-of-pocket to stay in the suite again (because free room offers from all the casinos come along), I am extremely glad to have stayed there, and that upgrade definitely turned me on to bringing the bulk of my business there.

  • Liked — The luxury.
  • Disliked — That the luxury was only mine for one night. :)

We arrived at 6 pm and we were told our room wasn't ready - we had to wait another hour. Since we were in town for a show we couldn't wait and we complained. The desk person was very short with us and told us it wasn't his "fault other people couldn't keep up with their jobs", but he would "bump" someone else for us to get a room quicker. The room was average - not nearly as nice as Harrah's or Borgota and definately not worth the ridiculous price we paid. Hotel management was not interested in giving us a room discount or comps for our room not being ready, even though we had a guaranteed check-in time of 3 PM. It is highly unlikely we would stay here again, even with a comped room. We can't even say the hotel staff were friendly or nice.

Whenever we hit AC we always stay at the Tropicana. This time we decided to be a littte different. The Marina was clean, comfy and seemed to be well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. The shower water pressure was quite weak, but all was clean and tidy. My one suggestion -- do NOT check your bags upon arrival. We made this mistake and waited for our bags for over an hour. Your better off carrying them up yourself. I was skeptical after reading the previous reviews -- but I was pleasantly surprised by our room. And the beds ~~ excellent!!! Clean, but above all extremely comfortable!! All things considered a great girls weekend at the Marina!!

  • Liked — comfortable beds!!!
  • Disliked — waiting over an hour to be seated at the Upstairs Cafe for breakfast!!

After reading the most recent reviews, I wasn't expecting anything decent. My fiance and I usually get comped at the Borgata, but this time it was sold out. Since we did get comped at Trumps, we decided to chance it. The room itself wasn't bad; the bed and linens were good (thank God there was no hair on the sheets like previous reviewers have stated!), the furniture was definitely a little old and the bathroom floor was filthy. I walked around in my flip flops so as not to have to walk on the floor. We at at the Upstairs Cafe and that was fine as was the waitress service in the casino. The only other bad thing was that the gym is under renovation and is closed until May. Overall, it was OK for a night or two in Atlantic City.

My fiance and I just spent a couple days in Atlantic City for a concert. We stayed at the Trump Marina and basically chose it because it offered us the best deal out of all the places we called. We're not cheap people, but trust me, money will NEVER be a consideration again when choosing a hotel after this.

Probably the most disgusting thing I can say is that the bed had hair all over it. It was absolutely disgusting. After seeing that, I wasn't about to trust any of the linens, so I called the front desk and asked for more towels too. They were quick about getting them up to us, but that really doesn't matter when the new towels you get STILL have hair on them.

We stayed in the wintertime. By the water= it is freezing. We walked into a frigid room and couldn't understand why it wasn't getting warmer. We then went to the "heater" to raise the temperature, only to learn that you are not allowed to control the heat of your own room- the hotel has a regulated temperature for each room. Well, ours was bone-cold, so my fiance called to ask them if there was any way they could raise the heat in our room. The response he got from the hotel attendant was: "No. Why? Is it cold?" (what do you think, it was snowing a week ago)? When he said yes it was cold, the answer we got was that we should turn on the fan, and he couldn't understand why turning on the fan would only make the room colder. I slept in every layer I had.

You have to pay the first time to get into the parking lot, and once you check in they give you a parking card that gets you in for free after that. Problem is, the check in people don't let you know that, and we only found out it was free when the parking attendant informed us, after she had seen us going back and forth and paying. When we told her they didnt' mention to us that parking would be free, she went on to say that several ppl had been making that same complaint. Just seemed a little too convenient that they left that part out.

The one good thing I can say was we ordered room service breakfast in the morning and the guy who brought us our food was super nice and got us our food even earlier than we were told. He should be working for a better hotel!
