I chose Trump Marina based on one factor: the price. I needed a place to stay during the two day NJEA Convention from the 8th to the 9th. Every other hotel was way overpriced (200+) and Trump Marina was offering $89; a steal! I booked, looking at some pictures beforehand. I have never stayed at a Trump hotel before, so I didn't know what to expect (previously staying at the Borgata, Showboat, Bally's, and Tropicana). Upon walking in, I found the building to be lavish-ish. It was definitely a Trump. Coming right up the escalator, I ended up right at the check-in. 1,2, 3. I was done. It was the quickest check-in I have ever experienced. No wait at all. Quickly to the end of the hall I found myself at the elevator for my room. Wow! This was really easy. Most other hotel/casinos I stayed at you had to walk a long ways from the parking garage to the check-in to the room. Not here, everything, including the restaurants and shops are right there near the main lobby.

After arriving at my room, I found it to be amazing. They had just re-done the rooms, so everything was fresh and new. Great style. My view was amazing- a view of the marina and docks. I could also see Harrah's. The room featured everything a standard room has, including a fridge and a huge TV. My room had two beds. One thing I did not like about the room, however, was the bathroom. It was way too small (about the size of a normal half-bath at a home). However, it was very clean. The housekeepers were very nice, and the room was overall great.

I ate at a few places while at the Trump Marina. First was the Bayside Buffet. It was the cheapest buffet around for the night, and it was at the hotel, so I decided to try it. The food was good, however, it had a lot of seafood in everything. It was also pretty small. But, hey, it was cheap, and no wait at all! I also ate at The Cafe, located upstairs from the lobby. There was also no wait there for breakfast (which was really surprising because I have waited 30 min+ for breakfast at other casinos)! The food and service was great.

I looked at a few of the shops. One was an expansive gift shop, which had Trump merchandise, as well as other goodies. There were a few other stores, as well as a pizza place and a pastry place down on the ground floor (parking garage level).

One other suggestion I have to make is for you to sign up for the new Trump One card. It gets you free parking here. I also got $10 free just for signing up and having a room (with the coupon on the confirmation).

Overall, this casino was great. It was the most convenient out of all I have been too. It's not too busy, which is a great convenience when you don't want to wait for anything. It was also easy to get in/out because there is no traffic (unlike the boardwalk casinos). I would definitely stay here again. The views, service, and rooms are impeccable.

  • Liked — The service, the room, the convenience.
  • Disliked — It was actually too cold inside. The common areas were freezing (mind you it's winter).

Stayed two nights mid-week in November at Trump Marina.

This may be the worst choice of the casino hotels in Atlantic City. First, it is at the Marina (no surprise as the name states) which is several miles from the boardwalk. Second, although it is across from AC's best hotel in Borgata, you can't easily walk there based on the road setup. Third, this was the most boring of all the casinos we went to (more on that later).

The Hotel - it is not a bad looking place but does not blow you away. The hallways and common areas are clean. Security was good. Parking was convenient and free with a Trump player's card. Staff was mixed. The check-in people were not the most friendly. Parking booth attendants were courteous and should be at the front desk.

The Restaurants - we did not eat anywhere. First, it looked like most of the nicer restaurants were closed on Wed & Thurs. Second, the buffet did not look great for breakfast nor did the cafe. We ended up driving to Borgata for breakfast which was great - $13.99 for their buffet (only a $1 more than Trump Marina) and you did not feel you were in a cafeteria. The Metropolitan at Borgata was the best choice for breakfast.

The Bars - very disappointing. The only bar I could find that was not in a restaurant was right in the middle of the lobby and very uninviting. Hooters was open but that scene looked dead. The club (Wave) looked like it could be good but not open during the week. No casino entertainment (i.e. a good band). We ended up partying at Borgata (the Gypsy Bar) and had a good time. Tropicana & Caesar's also has a good scene.

The Rooms - they were decent. King bed was comfortable and room was clean. Bathroom was very small. Rooms had a swanky look to them. The best part was the very good rate - $99 per night - which beat the other casino hotels by quite a bit.

Others - did not see the pool, gym or spa.

Overall, although the rooms were decent and the rate very good, there are much better choices. Previously stayed at Borgata, Trump Taj and AC Hilton which were all better choices. But if you are looking for a low rate and don't mind using a car, taxi or jitney, this may be acceptable.

Since it was a mid-week stay, I asked for an upgrade.
We were given a beautiful corner mini-suite, with nice views to the north and east.
The room had two flat screen TVs, a large sitting area, and a raised four-poster bed.
We had fun with a lot of the new slot machines.
The restaurants had good food and portions, decent prices, and service was very impressive.
Everyone from the doorman, registration desk, maids, servers, cocktail waitresses, etc., were just so friendly; nobody had "an attitude".
Would definitely recommend for a short vacation.

The rooms at Trump Marina are pretty good for the price -- well appointed, if a little small (like many other AC casinos). There were minor issues, like a sizable coffee stain on the bathroom vanity, but the view's great. The public areas are dated, though, and the place seemd on the whole a little empty.

We got this hotel for an offer of $75 on Priceline ($94 inc tax). I was a bit nervous after seeing some photos and reviews, but my room seemed much nicer than some of the bad pictures in the candid photos (but not a suite).

The room had all the gaudy Trump style - lots of gold fixtures, etc., but at least it all looked shiny and new. We had a modern comfy chaise lounge by the large window overlooking the pool deck. The bed was very comfortable.

It can be noisy, especially if the people above your room like to walk around a lot. Found it difficult to take a catnap b/c the people above us were in their room. Try and keep different hours than your neighbors.

Overall, for the price I was extremely impressed with the modern, nice room with good bathroom amenities. They allowed us to check-in early, around 11am. We were definitely the youngest people around, but as long as you're making your own fun, go for it!

Regarding location, we enjoyed walking to Harrah's which will give you a free $30 dinner buffet if it's your first sign up with them and you play for 30 minutes. We didn't find it a problem bolting across the freeway home from the Borgata at midnight either. Only a few cars to dodge. Took 7 minutes as opposed to waiting and riding the Jitney for an hour.

I would stay here again.
