Stayed for 2 nights, 12/30 and New Years Eve, 2 double beds, smoking. Room was modern, great pillows and *really* comfy beds. Bathroom was also modern, but average. Shower was very good, great pressure with an adjustable showerhead from fine to course stream. Also had the "curved" shower curtain that gives you more room in the shower, which is nice for me as I'm 6'4". Around 40 TV channels, which is a lot for AC. Had a view of the hotels and could see the ocean from the room. The hotel as a whole was very clean and well kept.

The Atlantic City outlets are right next door, so you if you like shopping this is the place to stay. Caesars is maybe a 10 minute walk at most. A Cab ride to the Trop was $9 with tip. The Borgota isn't that far, maybe a 10 minute, $15 cab ride. The Jitney (a bus shuttle) stops right across from the hotel entrance, and its $2, and as long as you pick the right one, it goes to any casino on the strip.

Overall very satisfied with the hotel and would stay there again.

My friend and I, two males in our mid 30's, went to Atlantic City for a New Years Eve concert at the House of Blues. I had never been to AC before. I cringed when I chose a Sheraton because my last stay at a Sheraton, Miami Biscane Bay, was a miserable experience.

I chose the Sheraton for one reason. It was the cheapest available room for NYE, a very expensive time to be in AC. The room was $430.00 including tax and roll away bed. I would say that this room was worth $110.00. Small, basic, windows don't open but good ventilation, great bed though there were foot long curly black hairs in it. I told myself that they were from the maid and slept in pants and a long sleeve shirt because on NYE at 4:00 a.m. drunk, I was not about to ask for clean sheets. The bathroom floor was sticky with dirt in the corners and around the toilet. I mopped it up with a towel. The view toward the back, facing the convention center is not great, definately ask for a room facing the boardwalk which I assume is much better. The hotel staff were very very professional, friendly and helpful and the hotel lobby and elevators were great. Check in and check out were a piece of cake. We did not try the attached restaurant.

If you are going to a convention, want to shop or want a non-casino hotel, this is a decent choice. The walk to the closest action (Caesars Palace, etc.) is short, 15 mins. There are some good chain restaurants nearby (Bennigans style) and the shopping is way better than expected. Taxis were very easy and convenient, about $9 each way to the House of Blues (about 5-10 min cab). The marina (near the Borgata) is quite far.

All in all, the stay was OK. If I was there for more than 1 night, I would have found the distance to any fun, casinos, good restaurants, bars, etc. a bit annoying. The train station is just steps away, the bus station is a 5-10 min walk and the highway enterance could not be more convenient.

  • Liked — Cheapest room available, good bed, close enough to the action, easy cabs, close to train and bus and great staff.
  • Disliked — Smallish rooms, dirty bathroom, just a bit far from action if there for more than 1 or 2 days.
  • Tips/Secrets: — Not that I know of.

The Sheraton hotel is within walking distance to the casinos, so this is really not a problem if you are a casual gambler. The walk is actually fun if you walk through the "walk outlet stores." We stayed with our small dog and had no troubles. The room wasn't the nicest room (room 439) but there wasn't any calls to the front desk, everything was working and all items in the room. I think this might be a dog floor, as I recall seeing at least three other rooms on the 4th floor with dogs. There is plenty of room to walk your dog around the hotel property. During our three night stay, we wrote a note the cleaning staff to not come in because of the dog. One thing I didn't like about the sheraton was the parking situation, I had to park @ the convention center and it is pricey $12/day. I didn't feel my car was safe @ the convention center because of all the foot traffic from the train station and surrounding neighborhood. But I didn't have any trouble. I wish they had their own parking garage with security guards.

The Sheraton AC offers something that other hotels in AC do not; peace and quiet! Staying in a Casino hotel is ok, however in order to get away from the casino floor and relax, this hotel is the best. Great staff, very clean hotel. Did I mention REASONABLE RATES! Some of the hotels in AC can be north of $450/night during the holidays. Use the SPG.com site to get the best rates. You are a 5 minute cab ride from any Casino, on the boardwalk or on the marina. Have a great time at this wonderful value for AC, and get some sleep while you are at it!.

Atlantic City would never be a destination I would choose for myself, so I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at this property located about 4 blocks from the boardwalk, across from the convention center. Check-in was swift, the staff was unfailingly polite, and the rooms were large, pleasant, and clean. Exercise equipment is high quality and plentiful and there is a nice indoor pool. Getting a room on a higher floor with an odd number affords a nice view of the casinos, boardwalk and ocean beyond. I had fun watching the giant monitors on Caesar's Palace, but the curtains closed all of this out nicely. Across the street are outlet stores and the walk to the boardwalk is pleasantly Disney-esque, past Gucci, Chico's and Armani. If you don't look down the cross-streets, you might think you are somewhere real. Parking is in the garage across the street, a bit of a walk, but mostly enclosed in the new convention center. I didn't try the restaurant, but the fellow at the coffee cart in lobby was polite and efficient. There is a nice garden right outside the hotel with a statue of Bert Parks, you can even put your head under the crown he is holding and pose for a picture. Don't miss the Shoe Bar in the second floor, an excellent place to have that first cocktail that ultimately leads to a painful headache.
