“It's all good here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2011

Excellent little hotel situated in Santa Marta town. Booked for 3 nights after reading previous good reviews on Trip Advisor - all of the good ones being very accurate. Was particularly pleased with the room - excellent air conditioning, beautiful decor, and very peaceful - made for some excellent sleeping in a very humid city. Also appreciated the cable TV - good selection of music and movie channels, and free internet was readily available. Breakfast was fresh, delicious and served quickly - fresh juice, fruit, eggs, cheese, bread rolls and coffee. Hotel manager Yuly and staff extremely friendly and helpful and go out of their way to assist in anything you need. La Casa was perfectly situated for taking day trips to nearby Taganga and El Rodadero and also supermarket, laundry and restaurants were all within easy walking distance. But the biggest reason to stay here is the friendliness of the staff who have the effect of making you forget you are in a hotel and making it feel more like a home of friends or family. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

La Casa Santa Marta is in a central location in downtown Santa Marta. My friend and I booked this place before and after our trip to Ciudad Perdida. It is more expensive than most places even compared to Colombian standards (the room price was similar to what I paid in Venice Italy for a small room 108€), but I was willing to pay for the quality of service and clean room received. The staff is reliable, honest, and trustworthy. Yuly was very kind to help us arrange a "puerta a puerta" door to door van service ($25,000 COP/ $13 USD) to our next hotel in Barranquilla as well as with restaurant recommendations. I had the Colombian breakfast they served which was fresh fruit, eggs to your liking, and delicious cheese. They were quick to respond when making the room reservation via email. It's a nice boutique bed and breakfast about a 7 - 10 minute walk to the Exito grocery store (similar to Walmart), 5 minute walk to the ocean, and 3 minute walk to Parque de Los Novios. I felt at home here. I recommend this place if you are looking for a quite gettaway to relax in the heart of Santa Marta.

Feels like a bed and breakfast. A cozy hideaway in the middle of Santa Marta. Yuly and the staff are excellent, very attentive. Environment is very interesting and relaxing. Food is superb.

My girlfriend and I stayed here a couple of nights on our way through to Tayrona.

In short, this is a very atmospheric, relaxing and very friendly 'house' to stay in. It's a small house in the centre of town that has been done up beautifully - there are 3 rooms, a courtyard with small pool, living room and dining area. Also the manager & staff were all incredibly friendly & welcoming and helped us with recommendations and organizing things. Breakfast in the mornings was good.

Price wise it is fair, though no real bargain.

Of course this is not a large hotel with facilities - but if you want a small, intimate and friendly place to stay, I'd recommend this very highly.

Yuli and the staff and courteous and friendly. Food (two dinners) was extremely good. The house is charming and the location is very good close to the beach. Noise at night on Fridays (not the hotel's fault, it comes from neighboring houses) and rooms are not too big but comfortable nevertheless. I would definitely stay at La Casa. We were 8 so the place was just for us.

Best place to stay in Santa Marta. The hotel has only 3 bedrooms, really confortable and well decorated ( as well as the others areas). It also has a very well equiped kitchen that you can use for doing your own food and a cozy and a cozy swimmig pool. Not to mention that breakfast is served at no time...Très chic!

I have been in Santa Marta 10 years ago, it is completly different now. It is nice hotel, only 3 rooms, a charming pool, delicious breakfast, try the ¨samarian breakfast¨ wow, you do not need to have lunch later and the staff are very kind. However, in my opinion the price doesnt worth, needs more benefits in the room and the property to charge this rate $300.000 COP per night, the competions in the city you can find suites for this price.
In general nice house and delicious breakfast.
