My family enjoy one week in the hotel Sunrise Beach, good service, excelent food, the best is the seven color sea, you can to see in your balcony room

It's too bad really. This hotel has the potential to be great, and probably was at one time. The ceiling in our room had more than 25 mold spots, one lamp shade was moldy, and faucets, etc. were corroded. However, safety is the main reason why I would not stay there again. While we were chatting with some friends by the pool one evening, nearly the entire ceiling (in our friends' room) collapsed! If someone had been in the room they could've been seriously hurt or even killed. We have a small daughter and all we could thing of is what would've happened to her if we were in the room. It really looked like a bomb went off.
The hotel should be closed for serious renovation.

We do alot of travelling to tropical destinations to escape the Minnesota winters. This was the first place that we were more than ready to leave and would never go back to.

The rooms and hotel were very nice and we never had any problems with things not working in the room. It was great sitting on the deck at night and looking out over the ocean.

The lack of consideration and respect for the guests at this hotel is something we've never experienced before at other places. One day they closed the pool late in the afternoon and started preparing the area for some kind of party. People (not guests at the hotel) started arriving by 7:00 and by 8:00 the band was blaring away. So much for a quite night enjoying the ocean view, but we figured we could take one night of this and were hoping that was all it would be. However, by 11:00 when we wanted to get some sleep and could hear the party goers and band perfectly, we were starting to get irritated. Well, by the time it ended after 2:00 in the morning, we had our opinion formed of this hotel. We'll never go back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

As a prior poster stated, my wife and I utilized this hotel as part of an RCI timeshare. Knowing we would not be purchasing a timeshare at the Sunset, we were treated as though we had dysentery DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT CHANGE YOUR TIMESHARE TO THIS HOTEL. Its a real shame too, because physically this hotel is beautiful, as is the island itself. There is a clear message of YANQUI GO HOME as we had to visit 5 banks before we could convert our dollars. After a day and a half of travelling, we finally arrived at the sunrise ,summarily went to the poolside bar and requested 'DOS MOJITOS", the bartender said no. It was downhill from there. The food was mediocre, drinks were weak, and it was evident we were not welcome. There are beautiful out islands, but even there we were threatened by a rasta, that we had better order food and drinks from him or there would be trouble. I tol him to take a hike. If a vacation is not up to standard, i generally give notice to the facility and am comped either a week or at least several days. Didn't bother here because they have comped us a month and it still would not have been worth it. BEWARE PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
