Cocoplum is a very basic but good choice on San Andres Island. It is located on Cocoplum Beach south of the main town. The rooms are basic but the location is very quiet.

WARNING Anywhere on San Andres Island, as in Jamaica, you must watch your personal belongings.

My wife and I unexpectedly had to stay at this hotel for two nights as
the hotel we wanted was unavailable.
The service was decent and the food was as well - no complaints
there.
However, upon departure my wife forgot her very expensive new
suede leather jacket in the closet of our bedroom. After checking into
our new hotel and realizing she had forgotten to take it she went back
to retrieve her jacket only to be told that it was nowhere to be found!
The owner questioned the cleaning room staff - two ladies - and was
told that we had left the door open - WRONG - and that some other
tourist must have taken it! What a crock of ---!
The owner asked what she could do and I suggested she give us at
least $150 as partial reimbursement but she had no interest in trying
to rectify the problem.
I have travelled hundreds of thousands of miles to nearly 100 countries
and have never had a hotel problem where the owners simply had no
interest in trying to get it resolved in order to satisfy the customer and
to avoid bad publicity.
She told me to do what my conscious dictated and my conscious tells
me that she deserves all the bad publicity she can get! Obvously we
will never consider staying at the Cocoplum and I will tell the world
if possible that it's not a place to stay!
