The view is absolutely fantastic, it was organized and clean... But poor privacy, u can hear people snoring, talking, sneezing and even more from the next room. That can wake u up at some point. Wireless doesn't work.

Sad, oversellers, not only failing their costumers, but showing absolutely no interest on them, it is not nice when people lie telling you that the rooms are ready, and making you wait for hours and then to tell you that there are no rooms and that there is nothing they can do for you, these guys really need training in protocols, and service.

Staff in learning process, could be of good potential in the future, but today lack of profesionalism and service attitude, overbooked, manager could not manage the situation, and provide alternatives, reservations where not respected,
simply had to go out and find another hotel same day.

Caution: Taxi drivers are very agressive and pushy, no control of fee's nor condition of vehicles, drivers would arbitrary charge 50% more for same route, and reason was nobody else can give you the service and this is what I charge. :-(

Simply was not the best experience, take your precations if considering visiting San Andres and this Hotel.

Although view is beautiful.

Looking at some of the reviews of the place, I'm tempted to think that because so many have five stars or one star, the owner and his sworn enemy are writing them all. While you'd have to be mentally ill, or have spent your life living in a drawer to think this place worthy of five stars, I don't think giving it one star is fair either. Surely one star is for those hotels where you find such things as the staff napping in your bed and livestock in the bathroom. I visited Sol Caribe Campo on a package tour to San Andres from Lima, including flights, transfers, food and drink all included, etc,and paid about $650 for five days and four nights. I wouldn't normally have chosen a hotel like this, but on the whole it didn't seem bad value. The hotel itself has seen better days and is a little rough around the edges. For examples, the bathroom showers are so weak that it's like being urinated on by a small dog, and then there's the soundproofing which is so bad, that you need to pray you've got quiet neighbours. The beach is also not immediately nearby. You have to catch a shuttle bus that leaves every half hour. Funnily enough, this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The all inclusive food and drink is largely a plus, as there are few restaurants nearby and taxis into town are expensive. The buffet food is roughly what I expected, edible, but a bit like the staff canteen, although there are some nice touches, like the women who makes fresh pasta dishes in the Italian restaurant. To try and be balanced about Sol Caribe Campo, I think your enjoyment of this place will largely depend on two things, firstly your expectations and secondly the price you paid. If you want luxury, forget it. If you're happy with a cheap and cheerful beach holiday in the middle of winter, then it does the job. However, don't pay the list prices. They're not worth it. If I had paid the price listed on the website and not come as part of a package, I might also have been tempted to give the place one star.

We took a trip to spent 2 weeks in the wonderfull San Andres island,
rented 4 rooms, because we were 10 people, everything started wrong,
the front desk service was rude and unpolite, not even because we had 2 elder people,
the rooms had bugs and at night there was a street fight in their disco
between the hotel crew and some guests, it was awful with blood and police,
PLEASE IF YOU WANT TO SPEND SOME QUALITY TIME I BETTER SUGGEST ANY DECAMERON IN THE PRETTY ISLAND

The island of San Andres is great for romantic trips, water activity trips, beach trips. It's a great blend of Caribbean at its best, with some tourism infrastructure to give comforts.

The hotel Sol Caribe Campo is located on a hill with a fantastic sea view, with extensive premises. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food buffets were great - not luxury food but tasty and filling with a good variety.

The evening shows are fun, with good animators - of course the public has to contribute as well to make them really happen.

The hotel has a small associated beach, a 15 minutes walk or you can take the hotel bus every half hour. The beach is close to a shipwreck in the bay, the water is calm, there is surfing, aduamotos, beach volley, massage (hi Mama Batty!) and a bar with snacks and drinks and sandwiches.

The hotel helps out with organizing island excusions etc, and we felt well attended.

The only thing to stay away from are any excursions called something with "Morgan": The Captain Morgan boat, the Cave of Captain Morgan, etc... Not worth the time. Much better are the water activities, the manta rayas, "La piscina", the lagoon in the center of the island, and snorkling/diving of course.

Room Tip: The complex is big. Ask for a good ocean view.
