“small nice hotel in front of the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

Small friendly hotel with helpful and flexible staff . I went without reservation and they found me room. The rate not very attractive but in San Andres accommodation and food is very expensive anyway . Good Wi Fi in the lobby but NOT ALL the rooms. So if you want to stay tuned in the comfort of your room ask for one of those near the lobby without sea view.

Room Tip: chose view or Wi Fi ?

Everything is close by the beach, food shopping. The rooms are a little dated and the housekeeping could be better but I won't complain because everything was great here the service the food! We had tours included so it was awsome!

Johana, Sebastian, and I Francisco staid at Hotel Bahia Sardinas for 5 days and 4 nights and it has been by far our best vacations and most part of it was made by the customer service of the Hotel Bahia Sardinas.

We felt safe and after walking around different hotels we came to the conclusion that Hotel Bahia Sardinas had the best view, the closest to the beach, the best customer service, and the best security.

We will deff recommend Hotel Bahia Sardina to our friends and family.

Hotels are extremely expensive and value very poor. Beaches are bad, nothing like the rest of the Caribbean.
Hotel is more like a pension than a hotel. Dated and old, many room you can not adjust AC, service is poor, views are nice, but rooms are old.

Having stayed at this hotel 2 years previously -I was prepared to give it another go as it really is the best out a bad bunch if you don,t want to stay at the all inclusive and very expensive Decameron resorts ! On arrival it was clear the place had made some improvements -the pool area is now much more inviting although still very small , a recently installed elevator means no more struggling up the staircase with your luggage! The room I had on this occasion was block A and so had lovely sea views and fortunately to the far right of the hotel away from the noisy Aquarios bar next door- the room itself was recently painted -a new flat TV , safe box and additional furniture was a pleasant surprise however the hotel need to invest in new beds !! Last time I stayed here it was my main complaint - the mattress on both the beds in the room were like sleeping on hardboard ! Very uncomfortable !
San Andres is getting quite expensive and to be honest your money will go a lot further in other Caribbean resorts like punta Cana - me my girlfriend opted for a half board status in the hotel - breakfast is simple but satisfactory -fruit/eggs/toast/juice/coffee and evening meal again good but nothing special salads/fish/meat with rice or potatoes - only soft drinks are served with the meals !
Overall we had a pleasant week but this hotel is only a 3 star at best ! However it was kept spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly enough.

Room Tip: If you can opt for a 4th floor room and to the far right( as you look facing the sea) torre A - this...

This is a nice clean 2 star Hotel on the beach but it is no longer worth staying at because the price is too high. There are better Caribbean islands for what the Hotels now want on San Andres Island for NON Colombian tourists from mainland Colombia. This is a nice little Motel on the beach but not worth $255. No Hotel on SAI is worth that! Go to Aruba or Grand cayman for that price. Better beaches! It is what it is!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel last Summer (2010). We liked the location of the hotel, in front of a nice beach, very closed to downtown and the harbor. We booked a room with a balcony with view to the sea, if you are not used to hear people partying at midnight ( which is understandable for being in such beautiful place) I would recommend a room in the rear of the building or another hotel far down the beach. Otherwise, you'll be disturbed with people partying until 3:00 in the morning. The staff at the desk are not helpful and kind, except for "Maria" one of the receptionist who was a sweetheart. They also don't speak English very well. Therefore, it's better for you to learn some Spanish. The service at the kitchen was good. Ask for "Jose" if you wanna know what to do or what places to visit around the island, he'd point you in the right direction & get good deals in tickets' prices for you. Unfortunately, there are some blackouts at certain times during the day, so don't be surprise or annoyed by this. If you need to use an electric shaver, epilator or charge your cellphone, I would advise to do it the night before. Also bring a battery operated alarm o'clock. I hope this review is helpful especially for visitors that are too picky.
