Good place, very clean with great location and good food. The staff is very nice and attentive. The hotel has WiFi on all floors and good cable service. It needs some minor repairs from the pass of time, some paint specially. The restaurant offers great food.

San Andres Island doesn't have very good hotels; most of them are overpriced and need a lot of work. For the price (about 50 USD per person, with breakfast and one meal included), this hotel is actually a good option.

The room was big, and yes, there is some noise, if you don't want any noise, you should go to Sol Caribe Campo instead. But then you would be away from the options that the city offers (bars, shops, etc).

The bathroom was very basic (but functional and clean) and had very cheap soap. Bring your own. But it had hot water, plenty of it, which is unusual in San Andrés, especially at this price.

Breakfast was fine, not great but fine. You have to remember, when it comes to food, that San Andres island is in the middle of nowhere and they have to import everything from the mainland. That affects the number of vegetables and fruits that you can find on the Island.
Breakfast options included: hot beverages, cereals, yogurt, eggs, toasts, bread and pastries (quite dry), sausage, plantains, fruit (papaya, watermelon, melon, pineapple).

The other meals that we had were ok, nothing exceptional, just ok everyday food. A type of fish, some kind of meat, rice, veggies, some other carbohydrate, bread, soup, and a small salad bar.

Skip the juices, they are not natural and have too much sugar.

You have the option of eating at the other Sol Caribe hotels if you let them know one day in advance. We ate at Sol Caribe Campo twice and the food was better, there were more options and they had real natural juice. The sight from this hotel is just wonderful, don't miss it. Really.

There is a van that takes you for free to their beach area in Rocky Cay (not Rocky at all) and to Sol Caribe Campo.

We rented a golf cart through the hotel at 100.000 pesos /day (50 usd). It was slow, but it was a great thing to do on the island.

People at the reception and at the restaurant were polite. It would be nice if they could smile more.

I have stayed at Sunrise hotel, Bahia Sardina hotel, and Hotel Las Américas on San Andrés Island. I would say the Sunrise hotel would rank first, followed by the Bahia Sardina, the Sol Caribe and Las Americas (avoid this one). Now if you consider the prices and what each hotel offers, i'd rank them like this: Sunrise, Sol Caribe, Bahia Sardina, Las Americas.
All of these hotels have problems though, but again, it is San Andrés, a beautiful island in the middle of nowhere. BTW, Decameron hotels seem to be average 3-4 star hotels, but they are so overpriced! That is why I never stayed at these hotels, I don't like to feel robbed. Decameron is building a new hotel on the island, right in front of the most beautiful beach. That's going to be very interesting!!!

So, to conclude, if you want to stay at an OK place in San Andrés and don't want to spend a LOT of money and feel robbed, Sol Caribe is a great option. Just don't take the full board option so you can go to other restaurants and are not stuck at the hotel eating more or less the same every day.

The people is very attentive and lovely, but the poor infrastructure and the noise can make this experience not the best. The localization is very good, close to the best restaurant of San Andres - La Regatta!!!!

I spent one night in this hotel waiting my flight to Providencia Island.
It is not bt the pool. It is old. The service is not good.
The best option would be to stay in a hotel in the Spratt Bight area, in front of the beach, and there are many option.
This area faces the Johnny Cay (Small island). A good place for snorkling.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel.

This is NOT the hotel for peace and quiet! I was on the fifth floor but faced the street and the noise from the motos and even worse, the car stereos at night, was quite disturbing (even with the air conditioning on). Fortunately by midnight it began to rain and scattered away the stereo players. The room was a little run down but quite large and the bed was fine. I only stayed here one night before flying to Providencia.

The staff were all uniformly excellent and extremely helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street.

This hotel has potential. The rooms are huge and there are good views of the waterfront from the upper floors. This was the cheapest all-inclusive that I could find that was conveniently located in San Andres Town. But, you get what you pay for.

After a late flight, my friend and I arrived at the property 3 am. The only room available had an air conditioning that didnt work. It had a fan, but it was still a miserable first night. For the last two nights we were moved to a room that had a working a-c.

Initially, I booked a single room and my friend decided to join me at the last minute. Not reserving a double room was a huge mistake. When we checked in, the hotel wanted to charge $100/night extra for the second person, even though this was more than what I paid for the single room just for myself. After I threatened to contact the chain's corporate office, the rate was mysteriously lowered to $60 for the second person.

Across from the hotel is a park, where locals would hang out with booming stereos in their cars until 3 am on weekends. We got very little sleep during our stay.
