On first appearances, we were not going in. The exterior needs major upgrading and painting; but once the food is served, what a different story. We a party of twelve with service included (parties of 8 or more pay 18%) so we did not have high expectations. For the shore, the prices are average, appetizers in the range of $8 to $13, and entrees from $27 to $31. We started with the fig and blue cheese salad, which was enough for two. This was excellently prepared with ample figs, blue cheese, and walnuts toped with arugula and a nice sherry vinaigrette. Others had the duck spring rolls, seafood salad, or fried calamari, all were good. My entrée was the rack of lamb, at $31 top on the menu, with mixed summer vegetables and a port sauce. It was cooked to perfection, very taste, and just enough. My wife had the pan-seared scallops, which were more than she could eat. They were served with pancetta, mushrooms, and peas. The scallops were singed to a light brown, looked, and tasted fabulous. The service was exacting, courteous, and prompt. With a few bottles of wine, total with tip was $ 48. per person. The Hotel Tides restaurant accepts Gropons so be prepared.
