“Great hostel in a beautiful house!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

I first stayed in a hostel in Poblado but didn't really feel the vibe there so I decide to move to a more authentic neighborhoud and picked Urban Buddha in Laureles. One of the best hostels i've ever been to in a house with unique architecture and a nice patio full of local vegetation. This gives this hostel a peaceful atmosphere in the heart of beautiful city of Medellin! The neighborhoud is central with everything you might need at hand (bars and restaurants) and with la 33 & 70 calles (with vibrant nightlife) 5-10 minutes walking. El Poblado is still close in case you need to go there since a taxi-ride is about 10-15min and costs 3-4$. Didn't even mention the staff yet whose very friendly and always ready to help. Definitely a great place to socialize and the music makes it for a delightful atmosphere!

A charming oasis in frenetic Medellin. A delightful patio with a little pond, quirky art throughout. Ana Maria makes killer breakfasts. Staff helpful with cabs & advice about what to see. A guard outside at night.

I loved this place! I was looking for a place to relax, for some peace and quiet and I found it there for a week. If you into the hostel party scene and falling over drunk this isn't the place, Thank god. That said there were always plenty of people coming through to socialize and go out with. The layout/design is great, some hostels don't pay attention to that adn it;s too bad. There is lots of space to spread yourself out in. Clean rooms, bathrooms, and kitchen. Very safe neighborhood. Not a far walk from the metro stop. About 10-15 mins but through nice neighborhoods so I didn't mind. The staff was great too! I'd go back there in a heartbeat.

I spent about 5 nights in this hostel and I can only thanks the team for the nice stay I had there.
I already new their first hostel which is in the south of Medellin and had a great stay there so I trusted their second hostel and was definitely not disappointed.

The hostel stands out from all others as it has some style and it also makes you feel at home. It has a little garden and a good space to eat and relax. Internet and wi-fi works perfectly. There is breakfast on demand if needed.

The beds in the dorms are very comfortable and there is enough space around.

The area is not in El poblado, that's right, and it's maybe better like that unless you're a party animal, but it's Laureles, a very nice neighborhood, you can walk around, it's closeby to some nice areas were bars and restaurants are.

What else can I say ? well yes the staff is very helpful and gentle, they do care.

Thanks again! I will definitely come back!

I really enjoyed staying here. Very comfortable, excellent staff, plenty of shared bathroom space, the kitchen is the best I've seen, and the outdoor area is great. Social without being a party scene, I met some lovely people. Keep in mind that the neighborhood is more suburban than in the heart of action. That said, there are several nice supermarkets very close, ATM's, restaurants, and the bus is very close. Metro is about a 20 minute walk.

Super friendly staff, very quite and safe residential neighborhood. 15 minutes walk to the subway station and 15 minutes taxi ride to el poblado. The kitchen is huge, free coffee 24/7. Nice public areas to chill. Great place. I totally recommend it.
