“Overrated and overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

I came to stay here on advice of other travellers but I was very disappointed. Everything about this place is over- rated. Firstly the rooms are like being sardines in a can, absolutely no room to move. Then there is the kitchen ammeneties with just one cooker for everybody and very little room to sit and eat. Then they charge more for beer, coke and water than the local restaurants. Laundry is 15000 peso a load, even if you only have a few items. This place has room for 100 people, so you can imagine the problems here when trying to cook, eat sit and watch TV if you want. The bed prices have government and other taxes added onto them whem you pay your bill. The staff at reception need to learn people skills and have an attitude problem. Other members of staff pressurise people into going on trips to nightclubs etc when they clearly dont want to. Stay away from here. It is also far away from the sights and bus/airport terminals.

Room Tip: Forget it, all rooms are bad

Located in el poblado which is abit outside Medellin but where all the hostels are. Nice place with good common areas, pool and games table tennis, volleyball etc. Common areas could be cleaner.

This place is renowned for being a party hostel however we arrived on a saturday and it was dead quiet apparently a big group had just left.

I stayed in The Pit Stop Hostel in MEDELLIN, a place to avoid. Badly located and pricy accomodation -for youth hostal standards- this place is a noissy drunk dungeon where mostly Americans stop by.
People shouting untill 3 a.m. maded inpossible to sleep. Then the staff, by mistake, I hope, broke into our room in the middle of the night without even knocking on the door. On thr top of all, it's badly connected by public transport. In conclusion, avoid this [--] in MEDELLIN.

We left after 8 hours of Pit Stop. Rooms are cramped, sweaty and smelly. No lockable areas for any belongings. If you want to party like absolutely crazy then this is your place. If you don't then you must go somewhere else. Honest review......

Awesome hostel. The staff was really cool except Alejandro. It has a Jacuzzi in the back patio. They have a full bar downstairs with all sorts of assorted beverages. The rooms are nice and clean. Lots of lovely colombians at the bar too. Yeah and Alejandro sucks. Its centrally located around the corner from the bars and discotecas and centro commercial.

We didn't have the greatest experience at pitstop. The maid snatched my headphones while cleaning the room, luckily I saw them in the maids station area and retrieved them. Asked the front desk if they had been turned in and they said no if they find anything they turn it in right away. It had been 2 days.
Definitely stayed in nier places for cheaper. But the location is pretty good. A Lon way from the airport not too far from the bus station and only a 10-15 minute walk to some great restaurants and shopping.
