Charming hotel, very well located, the rooms are very spacious, the swimming pool is the best spot, overlooking both sides of the town, and a priviledged view of the sunset. Service is great and a very friendly staff. In the evenings there is a very charming restaurant in the square in front of the main entrance. Very good to have a light and casual dinner, such as pizza, a pasta or a grill. Also, Harry's restaurant, the best in town, is located on the ground floor in the atrium. I highly recommend this hotel!

Stayed here on a business trip. The room was very nice, staff friendly as well. As mentioned in other reviews the roof top bar/pool area...WOW! If I had an extra night or had my wife there I don't think we would have left the pool area. Great view of the city and the sunset. There is also a restaurant/bar area right out side the entrance to the hotel, you can have a few drinks and people watch. Now here's something I wish I had known, if you walk out the front door, hang a left and then another left on the road next to the hotel, take it about three blocks and you'll come to an open air plaza that has several dining options (they all serve pasta, pizza, hamburgers and seafood) but it's a great place to hangout and enjoy the sights.
The bad: Do not, Do not get a room that faces the courtyard. I was there on a Friday night and like most cities a lot of folks go out to eat on Friday night. The courtyard of the hotel must be a popular place cause it was packed and it was loud, luckily I had ear plugs and was able to drown most of the noise. I think it went on til about 1:00 AM but can't be sure.

Room Tip: Avoid the courtyard rooms...especially on the weekends.

My husband and I returned 3 weeks ago and loved the Santa Teresa Hotel, formerly a convent. The staff was very attentive, room was perfect, and the rooftop pool and lounge area were beautiful overlooking the walled city. The hotel front desk and concierge were very helpful in arranging bookings at restaurants, and the concierge found us a very knowledgeable, English speaking, tour guide to lead us to all the various spots in the city. We cannot wait to go back! It's also well worth the day trip to one of the Rosario Islands.

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor, which I liked, because there was a landing area with lounge chairs that co...

Great hotel in perfect location for walking to everything! Rooftop pool area is to die for! Amazing views of the city, ocean and surrounding historical area...very relaxing way to spend the day...service is spot on although a little pricey....$12 for a rum and coke! Only drawback is that the hotel allows "non-guests" access to the rooftop area for $25 USD each. We were guests, however the "non-guests" secured the best chairs and beds therefore true hotel guests had to use less desirable lounges. Hotel needs to find a way to give priority to guests especially during high times. Front Desk managers were good, but a little slow in check-in/check-out. The old city can be noisy at times, however the rooms has double glass which basically eliminates outside noise which is important. Good idea to check your bill very closely when checking out. Colombia has lots of bizarre taxes (IVA tax of 16% which does not apply to foreigners) and fees. Will take the use of a calculator and time to make sure your bill is correct. Also, a service charge is already built into most of the services, so be sure not to double tip unless you want to. Otherwise, would highly recommend the property.

Room Tip: Ask about upgrades when checking in. For $20 a night we were upgraded to a deluxe room which was a c...

This is a LHW hotel and I had high expectations as the last LHW hotel I stayed in was in India and was absolutely amazing...almost on par with the 6 star Al Husan in Oman. However, this hotel has a lot of little problems that all add up to not being a great hotel but just average. The positive things about the hotel are that it is in a great location and has a nice rooftop pool, which is a great place for a drink and watching the sunset. The rooms are nice, nothing special but nice and they have a good breakfast selection. The downsides are that the rooms are not maintained. The faucet in the bathroom didn't work well, the lock was broken on the door and I had to ask for the room to be cleaned, otherwise I don't think they would have done it...which after they cleaned they left the cleaning cart in front of my door for 3 hours!! This is also the first time I have stayed at a 5 star hotel that did not provide complimentary water. There is water in the gym, there is no reason they can't offer water in the hotel room. Part of being in a 5 star hotel is having excellent service, the spa is also not up to 5 star standards. When getting a manicure I had to wash the exfoliant off my hands myself in a sink in another room...even a cheap nail salon doesn't do that, then when getting a massage they don't provide any slippers so you have to walk around barefoot and up hard metal stairs that are very uncomfortable. If you want to eat dinner in the main restaurant make sure to bring cash as you can't charge the meal to your room. Finally when checking out they tried to say i had eaten snacks from the mini bar, which I had not! Overall the location is great but the hotel is overpriced and certainly not up to 5 star standards. My recommendation is to stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: If you do stay here try to get a room that doesn't open to the main courtyard, otherwise you hea...

We only stayed for one night but encountered bad Service issues, first, we requested an iron because we had a party but they did'n' even took the effort to provide one or the laundry service. Also, the concierge gave us an attitude when we asked for a late check out and didn't even try to help us. Not the kind of service for a one million pesos per night rate , on a Sunday!!

Nice open courtyard. Pricey. Order a steak well done came semi raw. Nice place to hang little bit. Free WiFi was very good!!!! Would u come back again? Maybe just to stroll around...but not sure if I want to drop $35 on steak for an afternoon bite going by Cartsgena price standards.
